Let’s see if the Hada Labo Perfect UV Gel SPF50+ PA++++ is a perfect budget-friendly sunscreen

March 31, 2016 Paris B 28 Comments

If there’s one skincare product that I’m loyal to, it’s sunscreen. When I find one that works, I stick with i come hell or high water. For richer or poorer… my HG sunscreen will eventually send me to the poorhouse I swear LOL!

But due to mounting requests, I embarked on a mission to find an alternate, more affordable sunscreen that I might like. I do have a preference for Asian brand sunscreens, for the simple reason that they work, and for some reason, the formula feels more elegant than most Western brands.

One of my favourites, before it was discontinued was the Hada Labo UV Whitening Emulsion sunscreen. So, when I went looking for a budget sunscreen option, one of my first stops was Hada Labo and I picked up the Hada Labo Koi-Gokujyun Perfect UV Gel SPF50+ PA++++

Long story short, I was pleasantly surprised to quite like this 🙂

In the cream eyeshadow Jungle, it will be a Bronze Moon (not blue) before I love the By Terry Ombre Blackstar

March 30, 2016 Paris B 13 Comments

You know, I kind of hate it when a product is very popular with many people, but doesn’t sit well with me. It often makes me wonder what’s wrong with me. Am I too picky? Is my skin weird? What is WRONG?!

And then I realise that well, nothing is. Quite often, it comes down to differing preferences, or just weird skin!

Which brings me to the By Terry Ombre Blackstar cream eyeshadow sticks. You should know by now that I’ve got a thing for cream eyeshadow sticks. They’re so incredibly portable and easy to use, with lovely shimmer and texture, that I wonder why I don’t use these and only these for eyeshadow all day, everyday!

And then I realise why – not everyone gets it right. I’ve tried some that have gotten it horribly wrong, and I have my favourites (Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown, if you’re wondering – I have multiples from both brands!) But the By Terry Ombre Blackstar pens come highly rated. I’d be hard-pressed to find someone out there who doesn’t like these, and I was pressed to try this. “Try it!” the sirens cooed “You will love it! It’s smooth, it’s creamy, it’s got beautiful colour!”

So I tried it. And you know what sirens do in the myths? They lure you to the rocks so you crash and burn. Ah yep, that was me, crashing and burning while the sirens cackled overhead 😛

Your Say: Do you use different skincare products for day and night? Must you?

March 29, 2016 Paris B 14 Comments

If you’re a skincare junkie like I am (I’m no expert, just a junkie!) you might be just like me – raring to try every damn new product out there, experimenting as you go along on your quest for good, if not flawless skin.

But I’m curious. Do you use different skincare products in the day and at night? Most of us, at least those of you who read my blog, would be interested in skincare and beauty anyway, so I’m guessing that a majority will be wont to say yes. 🙂 So, do you?

My favourite discontinued lipstick formula has been reincarnated in Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo Complete Care Lipshine

March 28, 2016 Paris B 10 Comments

When one of my favourite lipsticks got discontinued, I wept a little tear. The Dior Serum de Rouge was one of my favourite lipsticks ever, despite their hefty pricetag and rather boring colour selection. I had, and went through quite a few, which would have landed me in the poorhouse, but I loved it and Mom loved it. And then they only went and discontinued it. Sigh…

So, when I spotted the Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo lipstick launching recently, my eyes gleamed.

Oh hello there, balm-gloss-lipstick hybrids in a twist-up pen! 😀 Where have I seen you before? 😉

The Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo lipsticks are creamy lipsticks that are formulated to be very creamy and smooth and balmy on lips. I can attest to them feeling ever so comfortable, and moisturising, although there is one thing I wish they could have done better with.
