Trying the famed Biologique Recherche Facial in Malaysia to achieve that much touted ‘BR Glow’

There is a facial treatment that people speak of in hushed, reverant tones, much like the brand under which it’s performed. The Biologique Recherche facial is often touted as the gold standard of facial treatments, leaving you with the famed ‘BR glow’ immediately after. It is a treatment sought after by skincare afficionados who pursue and crave that post-facial glow, that leaves you not wanting to wear any makeup, because your skin looks SO. DAMN. GOOD!

Pundits say that the BR facial will leave your skin with an ethereal glow and lifted. In other words, it’s supposed to leave you with skin that looks and feels amazing, better and maybe even younger!

I’d heard so much about the wonders of this facial, and I did try it twice before this. But if I was to be honest, it left me feeling wanting, and I did not share about it then, because it was just “Oh, alright” in my books. I wanted to see that glow that everyone talks about, and while I did experience the post-facial glow that you experience with every facial, there was no long lasting effect. If anything, I found myself breaking out after that. I decided that perhaps it wasn’t for me.

A few years later, now that we have our own Ambassade Biologique Recherche, I was invited to try it again. Let’s give it another go, I figured. If it sucks again, at least I know it isn’t for me, and I can just write it off as one of those contrarian things my skin doesn’t get along with.

About a month ago, I went for the facial, and I don’t know if it was the skill of the therapist, the way the products were used, or simply that my skin appreciated the treatment, I left with skin that was glowing, lifted, rejuvenated, and I had no breakouts!

Salon Spy: Trying out the Elemis Biotec Facial – a high tech facial to boost glow in just 60 minutes

February 14, 2022 Paris B Leave a Comment

It has quite literally been YEARS since I last went for a proper facial!

Pre-pandemic, I never found a salon or service I was happy to settle with. I have rather particular preferences for facials (I must know the brand of products used, for example) and it was very hard finding one that met my requirements.

Post-pandemic, well, it speaks for itself really. I was in no frame of mind to go for a facial, especially as it requires both me and my facial therapist to be in close quarters.

However, a few months back, I was invited by Elemis Malaysia to try their newly launched Elemis Biotec Facial service. Elemis is a brand that I enjoy using very much, and I’d read a lot about their facial services in London. After a lot of thought, I agreed to try the facial. It was not without a lot of trepidation on my part, health-wise.

Part of the reason I agreed, was because I wanted a little break, and a glimpse of normalcy. The other part was because I had been in the market for a facial using products I was familiar with, and also using machines/microcurrent technology, and the Elemis Biotec Facial fit the bill!

Salon Spy: I tried the Celebrity Medifacial with RF Treatment at Ceramiracle and left with food for thought

November 14, 2018 Paris B 9 Comments

I’ve always been a sucker for facials. Not everyone enjoys going for them, but I do! I used to be very adventurous back in the day, going for all sorts of facials under the sun, never quite caring what products were used, as long as it was affordable. Then, I became more particular, and stuck with one salon for many years. When they closed, I was at a loss.

I eventually found solace in another regular facial salon. It is a spa-type facial, which employs the use of massage with hands, without the use of machines or gadgets.

Truth to tell, I am quite wary about facials using machines. I have had them before, but it was with my trusted salon. Ever since it closed, I’ve never trusted another salon with a machine-type facial.

So, when I was invited to try The Celebrity Medifacial at Ceramiracle salon at TTDI, I paused. I was all ready to say No, when I had a foolhardy moment, and said Yes instead. If it didn’t work out, I’d have a story to tell anyway right? 😛

What interested me in The Celebrity Medifacial at Ceramiracle is that it included an RF Treatment, and I had not had one of those for many years! I intentionally waited for over 2 weeks since my facial, before I reported, so I could see the effects (or not).

YOUR SAY: Do you do your own facial massages? Do you even care to learn?

November 17, 2017 Paris B 8 Comments

I’d been wrestling with computer problems for the past 2 days, and to be honest, cannot be arsed to do any editing of photo-heavy posts so the next instalment of the Chanel Collection Libre has to wait. Instead, I had been having an on-going discussion with someone on the subject of facial massage, and I thought it was interesting to throw out the question to you.

Do you do your own facial massage? Say, daily or maybe weekly? Is it something you care about or something you are particularly interested in? Is it something you’d rather just let someone handle? Tell me 😀Continue Reading
