Ever since the beginning of the pandemic, when we were forced to stay indoors, I’d ditched any semblance of wearing makeup. Why bother, when you won’t be going out, or wearing a mask. It felt like a waste of time and effort (and in many ways, it was).

When restrictions lifted and life began going back to normal, I still balked at wearing makeup. My lifestyle had changed. I was spending more times outdoors, less time being social, and wearing masks all the time. This hasn’t changed in over 3 years, and realistically I don’t expect it to change very much going forward.

But over the last few months, I’ve had the occasion to put on some makeup for social events, and I have to say that I’ve actually found it fun! 😀

I received a selection of the Chanel Holiday 2020 makeup collection by a very special delivery method this year – courier delivery!

Nothing is the same this year, and every company has had to pivot to reach their customers, and Chanel customers in Malaysia have finally been offered a delivery service. You do have to call in to a store or contact client services at +6012 366 0072 to arrange delivery of what you want, but this service is going out throughout Malaysia – yes, even to places without a physical Chanel counter! I think that’s grand 😀

I have a confession.

I’ve become lazy at putting on makeup, in particular, eyeshadow. So often, I just go out with some concealer, brows, blush and a lipstick.

Yet, sometimes, a hint of colour or definition around the eyes can make for a better look.

While I have not been the most creative person around when it comes to eyeshadow application, I had been a little more involved before this. But with a new lifestyle, comes a new approach to makeup.

And one day, I stumbled on a new technique of applying eyeshadow that involves just 3 items, and 5 seconds of your time. It doesn’t get better than that! 😀

I’d been looking forward to Chanel’s 2019 Holiday makeup collection for a while. Ever since I saw teaser images of the collection a few months ago, I’d been enamoured.

Happily, I was not disappointed with the actual product! 😀

The key item that had me eagerly awaiting the Les Ornaments de Chanel collection was the eyeshadow quad. There was something about the intricate embossing of the pattern that reminded me of the buttons on Chanel’s iconic tweed jackets.

I was generously gifted a selection of products from the Les Ornaments de Chanel collection so I’ll tell you what I think is worth the splurge (and what you could skip over 😉 )
