Hello and welcome!
I’m Paris B – the beauty blogger behind MWS – and I bid you welcome to My Women Stuff (MWS), a beauty blog based in the sunny tropics of Malaysia. We are not just another beauty blog, oh no! We are far more than that! My Women Stuff is a blog for those who enjoy informative blogs, and for those who love to read.
My Women Stuff was established (Ooh swank! 😉 ) on 9 March 2007 which means we’ve been around forever in internet years! We started out as pioneers in the field of beauty blogging worldwide, and I’d like to think that My Women Stuff has been and continues to be a premier independent beauty blog in Malaysia and globally, that appeals to a wide cross-section of the beauty loving public. I hold myself and my blog to a very high standard of quality and we will keep bettering ourselves!

“My Women Stuff”, what is that?
PLEASE NOTE: My Women Stuff or MyWomenStuff or mywomenstuff.com is a blog providing reviews, information and discussion on beauty in general, and we DO NOT SELL products on any platform whatsoever under any name whatsoever. We are aware that there is an account on Instagram with the same name as this site, which we are NOT privy to nor are we associated with it in any manner or form. Our only instagram account is at @parisbmws and we disavow all relations with any Instagram account bearing this website’s name. We have also been made aware of another website bearing a closely similar name that purports to sell beauty products or gadgets. We are not associated nor affiliated in any manner or form and we will not entertain any inquiries therefrom.
My Women Stuff is a beauty blog i.e. a blog that is focused on makeup and skincare reviews and beauty news. It is however, not just another beauty blog – too many of those around. Beauty is our primary focus but we are open to other fun ventures, so expect the unexpected, in particular as my interests evolve as I grow, and as readers grow with me. My interests in food and cooking and home and household items do come to the forefront occasionally as well, and are generally well received. We all need to eat and learn how to clean and organize after all!
Our focus on MWS is on everything about women and all things women might be interested in, however we perceive it. This is not an online magazine, and not a portal, but a good old-fashioned blog helmed by a team of one. So yes the use of “we” is quite pretentious 😉
My Women Stuff is updated frequently with new content – product reviews and fascinating discussions that often elicit comment. I don’t work in the beauty or fashion industry and I’m a consumer, pretty much like all of you reading this. If anything in my blog helps you be a more well informed consumer, it would be a qualified success 🙂
What differentiates MWS from other blogs, and makes us “Not just another beauty blog” is the writing and critique. We love to write for those who love to read. While the common consensus is that no one reads anymore, we beg to differ – our readers do, and we write for them. We also produce thoughtful pieces about beauty and the beauty industry, and sometimes touch on controversial topics involving the industry, that no other bloggers will touch; and take brands to task (see: Kiehl’s Pure Vitality Cream and the updates) when no one else will. Our commitment is always to educate our readers and not to be a slave to or a mouthpiece of any brand.
My Women Stuff is also an “independent beauty blog”. We are not represented by anyone other than me myself and I, Paris B. We work independently of any constraints and strictly in line with our personal principles and values. We are open to working with brands and PR and have been for many years, on strict terms of honesty and fairness with no sugar-coating. It doesn’t make everyone happy, but it makes us happy and from what we can tell, it makes readers happy and it makes us the credible, trustworthy website that people love to visit and respect 🙂
We are also very honoured to also have been noticed and featured in the Press in print and online throughout our existence! Very honoured and very thrilled 🙂
Can I trust product reviews on My Women Stuff?
Yes you most assuredly can 😀
I operate on a strict policy of providing honest and candid feedback in all product reviews based on my own experience with the products. I know that’s what consumers really want because that’s what I want! Enough of the regurgitation of press releases and mindless fawning over brands and PR already! Just tell us if it works, and more importantly, if it doesn’t! Not every product out there is a holy grail nor ground-breaking.
If I don’t like a product, I will either not review them or I will review them, but tell you what I honestly think. All product reviews carry pros and cons so you can make your own decision as to how it might work for you. As for beauty services, my reviews are based on my experiences so if my experience and therapist sucked, then you can be sure my review will reflect that. Everything on MWS is written by me, Paris B, not a guest writer, nor a ghost writer, so rest assured that if you want something meaty to read, you’ve come to the right place 😉
What if the products are given to you – does it influence your view?
Nothing changes. We are fortunate to receive products or previews from some brands or PR agencies to try, and for our consideration so we can tell you if we like it or if its something that doesn’t meet the mark. There are so many brands and products out there that it would be impossible to know of or purchase every beauty product out there. However, the quality of the review will never be compromised and products sent may not be guaranteed of a full nor positive review. All products sent to us are clearly disclosed in our effort to be transparent.
You may read my disclosure and disclaimer policy for more information and for a better understanding of how we work here at MWS. Our commitment is to you, the reader, and to me to maintain my blogging integrity 🙂 We do the odd, selected advertorial that is clearly indicated, and only for products or services that we personally have used and enjoy using. Product reviews are never paid for unless free reign to critique is given. Every product has their pros and cons and we will not sell out our integrity and allow our voice to be stifled.
If you are a brand owner or PR and would like to collaborate with MWS or send a product for consideration please go here for more information. However, I do not participate in requests for link exchanges or guest posts except in very exceptional cases and I usually do not respond to such enquiries.
What is the MWS Community and how can I be a part of it?
The readers of My Women Stuff are an active, vocal, fun and friendly lot and they make their presence felt in the comments on each post, in emails they send in private, in participating on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook and just in reading and sharing the blog posts they read on the blog.
Here at My Women Stuff, they are not just readers, they are all part of the ever growing MWS community, some of whom have been with us since our inception over 10 years ago; and I consider them all friends. Where I can, I organise little events with beauty brands for readers, to give us an opportunity to meet each other, and for you to learn something, or to enjoy a little beauty pampering 🙂 We have fun times here at MWS 😀 Here are a selection, which I have documented – some weren’t, for various reasons. I only work with brands I personally enjoy using (regular readers will recognise them immediately) and have a good relationship with, and I never do this for profit nor am I paid to host any event, and generally, no payment is required to attend.
Events held in collaboration with My Women Stuff (non-exhaustive)
- In 2011, I had the opportunity to meet with the readers in a MWS Awards Party (self-hosted) to celebrate the first ever (in Malaysia) online Readers’ Choice Beauty Awards
- In 2013, I held a mini REN Skincare workshop with Kens Apothecary for readers to learn and discover this skincare brand that I enjoy using
- In 2014, I held a Bobbi Brown Masterclass beauty workshop for selected readers to learn about the brand and its products, and to learn some skincare and makeup tips.
- In 2017 I held a Luxury Pampering Party with Jo Malone London, in conjunction with the 10th Anniversary of My Women Stuff
- Also in 2017 I co-hosted a Luxury makeup Party with Chanel, in conjunction with the 10th Anniversary of My Women Stuff
You too can be a part of the MWS community! Here’s how you can participate:-
- Jump in and comment in the comment box at the end of each blog post. I love getting comments and I always try to reply unless the post is too old or if it’s an irrelevant comment.
- Interact with other commentators and readers. Each comment has a “Reply” button where you can reply to each other’s comments to help answer a question or ask a question. MWS Readers are a goldmine of information so mine it!
- Subscribe to the My Women Stuff RSS feed (I use and recommend Feedly.com as an easy to use feed reader) to receive updates whenever we post a new blog post (3 times a week)
- Sign Up for the weekly round-up of posts on My Women Stuff to have the weekly update delivered to your email inbox.
- Join us at the MWS Facebook Page or chat with me on Twitter where I’m open to talking about pretty much anything!
- Join us on Instagram where pretty pictures and previews rule, and hit me up in the comments. I always reply!
- If you’d like to watch a talking head instead, catch MWStv Episodes over at our brand new YouTube channel, MWStv! (Defunct for now, as I don’t have the time, experience nor energy to keep up with YouTube but old videos remain)
I also offer automated weekly blog updates if you’d like to stay updated with new posts sent to your email account.
I hope you enjoy your visit here on MWS and please email me if you have any questions. I love getting mail from readers!
