Cheap and Good?

The Altruist Face Fluid SPF50 sunscreen is a lighter choice for oily skins

There was a recent sale on the Altruist Sunscreen on shopee, so I shared about it on Instagram, and it received a lot of positive response. But I also received a lot of questions about texture, because I previously shared that the Altruist Sunscreen has a thicker, more creamy texture, and understandably, that can feel a little off-putting.

Incidentally, I had purchased the Altruist Face Fluid sunscreen in the past, and tried it not too long ago, so I figured that it’s time I shared my thoughts on it.

Affordable hydration is possible with the L’Oreal Revitalift Hyaluronic Acid 1.5% serum

l'oreal revitalift hyaluronic acid serum

I haven’t been as familiar with many new beauty releases as I haven’t been out and about very much. So what I’ve been doing is shopping my stash and finding new things in there that I might not otherwise have tried!

The L’Oreal Revitalift Hyaluronic Acid 1.5% Serum is one such product. I received it during an event many months ago, and dug it back up when I was looking for a new serum to use in the day. I tend to use hydrating/hydration serums in the day as I’ve found that that’s when I lose the most moisture from my skin. I attribute this to the weather – just because the weather is hot and humid doesn’t mean we don’t lose water from our skin. Using a hydration serum in the day helps my skin retain moisture and water better.

Suffice to say that the Revitalift Hyaluronic Acid serum was surprisingly a good find!

The Altruist Sunscreen SPF50 is easily one of the best sunscreen I’ve used in recent times (and it’s affordable too!)

When it comes to sunscreen, and when I find a sunscreen I like, I tend to be very faithful. There is nothing worse than trying a new sunscreen and then having it fail on you when you need it most i.e. when you’re out in peak noonday sun and you’re overheating or if you burn. Horrors!

As someone who has skin that reacts easily to sun exposure (I develop sun spots and freckles very quickly and my skin heats up easily under the sun), sunscreen is my most important skincare product. I will still use a sunscreen that is greasy or heavy, if it leaves my skin protected. I used to get a lot of comments from readers on my last chosen sunscreen, which most people find too heavy or greasy for their liking. I tolerate it, because it works well for me LOL! 😛

I bought the Altruist Dermatologist Sunscreen SPF50 a little while ago, and decided to test it over the Chinese New Year holidays, without much expectations. I was indoors for most of the day, but I still had to be outside with my pup for part of the day, and that’s when I noticed that it was working very well for me.

It wasn’t until I used it during an outdoor event held under the hot sun that sealed the deal. The Altruist Sunscreen is a keeper! 😀

I’m not joking when I say you should get the Geek & Gorgeous 101 Jelly Joker cleanser!

January 6, 2024 Paris B 2 Comments

I was looking for a cleanser a few months ago, which led me to the Geek & Gorgeous 101 Jelly Joker. I found the name amusing.

It must be said that I am very picky about my facial cleansers. I have dry skin generally, so the cleansers I go for must be non-drying, which means I avoid anything that is foaming. I usually go for cream cleansers as I find them to be the least drying on my skin.

Gel type cleansers can be touch or go for me. Sometimes, they feel a little harsh, and sometimes, they feel like they don’t clean well. There aren’t many that I’d use because I’m so fussy! 😛

But happily, Geek & Gorgeous 101 Jelly Joker is a winning find!
