Let the Majolica Majorca Lash King Mascara give your Lashes the Royal treatment

Everytime the subject of mascara comes up on the blog, there will be no shortage of readers who suggest their faves from Majolica Majorca. Majolica Majorca, a very popular Japanese drugstore brand from cosmetics giant Shiseido is very well known for their mascara. They are supposed to perform well, hold up a curl, stay on through a hurricane and are notoriously hard to remove. You may however, have noticed a lack of coverage of the products on my blog.

The primary reason is because I can’t use a lot of their makeup, in particular their eye makeup. The shadows and all the various mascaras make my lids feel heavy and irritated. Once I worked it out, I stopped looking at the brand. Why look at something that will only irritate you eh?

But recently, I had the opportunity to try the then newly launched Majolica Majorca Lash King mascara. Ok its been available since April but I have a good reason for coming in only 2 months later with a review. Well, I think its a good reason 😛

Latest IT Bag The Celine Luggage Tote : Fad or Fab?

I don’t pay a lot of attention to Celine bags, but I happen to have a soft spot for the Boogie bag. Sure, its open at the top, its only hand held and its by all notions a bit of a bother to juggle sometimes. But I love it, and want one in a lovely supple calf leather in a bright colour. Unfortunately, I don’t see it on the website anymore. I hope it isn’t discontinued 😛

The Celine Boogie bag is quite a classic, I’d say. There is nothing bright or garish about it and the lines are clean and simple and the design is straight forward. I walk around in Petaling St. and I don’t see a lot of fakes, if any. A sure sign the bag isn’t all that popular locally (the open top does make people balk) which makes me covet it more. I’d put it as a classic 🙂

But the latest IT bag to come out of the Celine stable is the Luggage Tote. I was pointed in the direction of this by my bag fiend partner in crime (“BFPiC”) some time last year. Then, I said to her quite honestly, “Meh. I don’t like how it looks” Well, that was before said BFPiC said she wanted it. Oops! 😛

I put it out of my mind for the past 6 months but recently, I’ve seen the Celine Luggage Tote grab the world by storm. I see it in magazines, in blogs, on celebrities… everywhere! Everyone who is anyone is touting it as the next Birkin, as a classic, as a “must-have”, and everyone’s swooning over it.

Did it make me want it then?

New! Aesop Black Label Hair Care : It smells so good you never want to stop washing your hair!

How familiar are you with the Australian brand Aesop? I was always aware about it, but I’d never really used many things from the brand. The one or two things I did try (I still use the Parsley Seed Cleansing Oil some days as well as the Primrose Facial Cleansing Masque) I did quite like. I particularly like the herbal scent and the essential oils that are infused in Aesop’s products which are botanical based.

With my slightly blinkered view zeroing in on the skincare, I did not realise that Aesop, in fact, started out in the hair care side of things. They started in 1987 specializing in hair care products and it remains the company’s strength.

In 2012, to celebrate 25 years in the business, they have revamped their core hair care range and streamlined it, calling it simply the Black Label hair care range. Products have been reclassified and reformulated but for me, its the wonderful scent of essential oils that pulls me right in.

If you are a fan of Aesop hair care, you will be in for a treat!

(Note: This post isn’t remotely beauty related in any way (could be women related though) so if you feel it isn’t relevant to you in one way or another, you may want to skip it or read something from the archives that is. A beauty related post may come up later if I feel up to it.)

Yesterday, while walking in the city after lunch, I came across an incident that left me sobered in many ways.

Walking towards me on the narrow pavement were 3 guys who, at first impression, I thought were just guys joshing around, pushing each other back and forth. But some instinct made me stop in my tracks and observe the situation further, and that was when I noticed that it wasn’t mere joshing around, but there was some sort of struggle going on. Of the 3, one was holding one of them in a chokehold, while the other was roughing him up and slapping him around. I was in a bit of a dilemma at that point. Instinct and everything moral you have ever been taught tells you that you should step in and help. Self-preservation warned me to not even think about it.

I wanted to move forward but it would mean having to pass them and I didn’t want that. So I decided to brave the traffic, and stepped out on to the road, sticking to the side. Walking past quickly, the guy being beaten up looked up at me, bleeding and asked for help.
