Stila Lip Glazes are an iconic product of Stila. They were one of the first items launched and are still going strong, having received the thumbs up from many celebrities. What really makes the Lip Glaze an iconic product is the innovative packaging.

Where most lip glosses come packaged in a tube with a separate applicator built into the cap, Stila Lip Glazes comes in a clear clicky pen and a brush. What this does it make the product more portable and easy to use as you don’t have to fiddle with opening the gloss and using 2 hands to handle this product.

Using the Stila Lip Glaze is simple. Just twist the bottom of the pen about 2 times and wait for the colour to ooze out of the brush. Then, apply to lips. I find that 2 turns is just about right or you risk having a lot of goopiness on the brush and wastage when you eventually wipe it off.Continue Reading

I cannot believe that Stila Cosmetics is 14! Was it only yesterday that I found out that Jeanine Lobell (Founder of Stila) was the wife of Anthony Edwards (of ER fame)? Well apparently not, because they have now been around for 14 years – first as an independant company, then as part of the Estee Lauder family and after they were sold by Estee Lauder in 2006, they are now under a company called Sun Capital Partners Inc.

I’m just happy that someone is keeping Stila going because it would be a pity to have this brand die out on us. For me, Stila has always embodied everything that’s girly and pretty. Interestingly it doesn’t show in their packaging (to me) which is quite staid but who can resist falling in love with the “Stila Girls” artwork? I do wish they’d bring them back. Stila Kitten Summer Eyeshadow Palette – swatches

A while ago, I mentioned that Stila had a new eyeshadow palette for summer – the Kitten Palette. Well, last weekend I finally remembered it and got a chance to check it out!

The first thing I noticed is that the Stila palettes have gone up in price. They are now retailing for RM190 each (6 colours) instead of the RM128 it was previously. Boo! So, even if I have good things to say about the Stila palette, I will balk at paying the terribly high price for what is a tiny little palette. Maybe I’ll try to source it from eleswhere.
