5 Things I Love Vol. 2: Bits and Bites

July 26, 2019 Paris B 15 Comments

I took a turn for the nostalgic last month, and hearkened back to the early days of blogging, when we’d share little random things in bite-sized pieces, because it was fun to. I enjoyed that, and apparently, so did many of you!

So, I’ve decided to make it a monthly feature – as regularly as I can remember to post LOL!

5 things random

What’s most interesting for me is how much has changed, or evolved, since my last post last month, so this serves as a nice little check-in for me with how I’m doing 🙂

Guerlain Meteorites Perles de Satin – almost perfection

July 17, 2019 Paris B 15 Comments

Aha! You thought I was done collecting Guerlain Meteorites pearls didn’t you?! Well, so did I! LOL!

So what do we have here?!

guerlain meteorites perles de satin

After I bought the last Meteorites pearls at the end of 2016, I told myself I was done. That’s it, this Meteorites pearls collector was hanging up her credit cards. No more Meteorites!

There have been a few new releases since, but nothing that caught my eye, so I didn’t feel any loss. And then one day a month or so ago, my eye was caught by a gaudy paisley tin.

And I looked a little closer. It was the Guerlain Meteorites Perles de Satin, released for Summer 2019.

And I felt the old stirrings tugging at my heartstrings once again. Ah, my love for the Meteorites pearls can never be dimmed! 😀

Let me tell you if the Guerlain L’Essential Natural Glow Foundation and L’Essential Retractable Foundation brush are worth it

May 10, 2019 Paris B 12 Comments

Last week, I showed you a tint that got everyone very excited. This week, let’s talk about the more conventional liquid foundation recently launched by Guerlain – the Guerlain L’Essential Natural Glow Foundation 16H wear SPF20.

I remember that many people were quite interested in the Guerlain L’Essential Foundation, when I shared it on Instagram. But perhaps that euphoria has died down, now that there are shinier, newer things out there LOL! 😀

But I’ve finally put the foundation through its paces, and have formed an opinion about it. I also got the Guerlain L’Essential Retractable Foundation Brush, which was launched alongside the foundation, so I’ll be able to share some thoughts on that too!

The bggest question of course is this – are they worth the big bucks?

The Guerlain KissKiss Creamy Shaping Lip Colour gets festive in the limited edition Colours of Kisses packaging

December 12, 2018 Paris B 6 Comments

If you’ve been around MWS a while, you’d know about my fondness for Guerlain’s lip products (and obsession with Meteorites!). Their Rouge G lipsticks are a gold standard for bold, intense, creamy and longlasting lip colours (their reds are second to none!). On a slightly less intense note, I’d been enjoying my time with the KissKiss lipsticks too. Beautiful textures and colours. But when I spotted their new limited edition colourful packaging in the Guerlain KissKiss Colours of Kisses range, I flipped!

I’d snagged myself one, and was thoroughly enjoying using it, when another 2 arrived, courtesy of Guerlain. So, naturally I have to now tell you about them 🙂

The Guerlain KissKiss Creamy Shaping Lip Colour usually comes in a glossy black case, in a similar design. I have been quite a fan of it for years, since their launch. I just never quite got round to talking about them, because it’s one of those things. I only have so much space (and time) that things fall by the wayside.

Or maybe it’s because I’ve been keeping it to myself as a little secret 😉

An “I’ll be out all day and need my makeup to An “I’ll be out all day and need my makeup to stay on” look 😅 Super simple and using stuff I already own. How many do you recognise? 😅

For the base I think the key is the Nars setting powder which is basically a silica powder. Many brands have similar white powder for setting. I did this same look yesterday and it barely budged/faded by evening. Only lipstick needed a little topping up 😊

And this is about all the makeup I can handle these days 😂 no eye makeup cos I can’t be arsed 🤪

Excellent good fun! 😆 Your eyes always want more than your stomach can handle. Ate a lot and bought even more food back home. Diet? What diet? 😂
Will have to admit that this serum from @drsambunt Will have to admit that this serum from @drsambunting had me curious about Azelaic acid. It’s a pretty good serum for brightening if Vit C isn’t quite your thing. It’s a 4-in-1 combo of pretty potent ingredients.

Posting for posterity because I like this photo 😆 Also hello! 😜

It’s interesting that when I meet people they always ask me “Are you still blogging?” which tells me they don’t read my blog anymore (cos if they did they’d know I am lol! Weekly generally, but still writing) Yet I don’t blame them because a lot of social credit is placed on one’s Instagram presence. This I fear, is an area I am lacking. I pop in every now and then, share stories that are totally unrelated to what people follow me for, then wonder why they unfollow lol! Other times, spider webs gather in the corners of my unused account. I don’t blame them. Not everyone wants to know what my dogs are up to 😜

Anyway I make no apologies. It’s ok if you follow. It’s ok if you don’t. It’s ok if you’re interested in stuff I do. It’s ok if you’re not. Life goes on for both you and I and ultimately, we just both want it to be happy. So do what makes you happy 😊 I’ll still share my beauty finds and I still blog once a week. I may share what I’m up to from time to time, or I may not. I can tell you that I’m keeping busy and that I have a lot on my plate, none of it glamorous unlike that of most content creators/influencers. It’s too boring for most for me to share here so I’ll just share the good bits - as Instagram intended 😂

But if you want to find me, you’ll know how 😊

The review for the product is somewhere on the blog mywomenstuff.com
Yes I know many of you are terrified of lizards 🦎🫣

But I liked this sunscreen - for the body. Even though it left a white cast. Even though it is hard to remove. It kept my arms protected through a weekend of brutal sun exposure and I survived without burning! ✌🏻
