This Christmas you won’t want to miss the mythical glow of the Guerlain Perles de Legende Meteorites

I told myself “PB, my girl, no more Meteorites for you. They’re getting far too expensive, with less content. Besides, you own so many already!” Naturally, that pep talk didn’t work, for my newest addition to my Meteorites collection is the Guerlain Perles de Legende, released for Christmas 2016. Willpower. What’s that?

I wasn’t going to do a blog post at first, but over on Instagram, I was convinced to – just to keep with tradition. So here it is – Perles de Legende.

I skipped the Guerlain Meteorites releases this year (from memory) I didn’t get the Carousel one, because reports were that it was less suited to an all-over finishing powder, being too pink. I didn’t feel any tugging on the heartstrings either, so I was happy to pass on it.

But for some reason, when I clapped eyes on the Guerlain Perles de Legende, I felt the stirring of feelings I thought were dead. I think it started with the packaging. While constructed like the regular tins, it was the contrast of the deep, bright royal blue and gold, that grabbed me by the … er… balls LOL 😀

You know, being immersed in this world of beauty has its drawbacks. Stop snickering back there, because you know it’s true! If you blog, or if you read enough blogs or follow social media, often you find yourself being updated on what’s new.

Everything published is new or forthcoming. We buy them, and we enjoy them and then… “Ooh look! New shiny makeup!” and what we enjoyed before is stuck at the back of the drawer. I’m, hands up, as guilty as they come. People are already releasing images for Christmas collections, and it’s only August! Slow down, slow down!

Recently however, I decided to take a look at some of the items I own that I’d forgotten about, or just stopped using, for various unknown reasons. I was curious to see if they might strike the same chord in me now, as they did back when I first got them.

Let me spare the suspense – they did! So here are a few beauty products I rediscovered recently. What are yours? 😀

Lipstick, like blush and foundation, is a bit of a weakness of mine. I love checking out new formulations on offer, although I’ve learned since that I much prefer solid lipsticks, and I like certain textures better than others. It allows me to not make costly errors the way I used to before!

When I started out using lipstick, I preferred the lighter, moisturising balm-textured lipsticks. I still like them, but these days, I find myself busting out the creamy, opaque textured ones more. They last longer on lips, they aren’t too glossy, but they aren’t flat and matte either. They are, in the words of Goldilocks, just right! 😀 I call them my adult lipsticks – good for adulting 😀

As many of you know, my tastes in makeup tend to run to the higher end brands, so after playing the field, here are 5 creamy lipsticks worth splurging on! 😀

I get asked some questions quite often, and among the most prevalent is this: What is the Guerlain Meteorites Powder used for, and if I were to pick one, which do I pick?

A close runner-up is the question : How do I use the Guerlain Meteorites powders? I mean, they’re expensive, and I don’t want to just buy and stare at them, as pretty as they are!

For some reason, people seem to think I’m an authority on Guerlain’s bestselling Meteorites Powder Pearls LOL! 😀

Well, I’m no authority, but I do own enough of them, and have used them long enough to know their quirks and how best to get around them by now.

My review on the Meteorites was among the first reviews I wrote on this blog way back in 2007 when I started MWS! That’s yonks ago.

So, here’s my quick 101 primer on the popular, Instagram-worthy Guerlain Meteorites Pearls (or what I affectionately call the “bebola” – balls in the Malay language, or just “balls” or as some friends will have it, “ballz”!) and which to pick, if you want just one, or want to get your first Meteorites 🙂
