I’ve got this one for a while now but didn’t tell you because I’d forgotten 😛 Picked it up because while I love #22 Paris, I wanted something more everyday. When its RM95 a lipstick, I want to get the most mileage out of it and this colour was perfect. I’ll bring you a swatch soon – my camera’s not behaving very well.

Chanel Rouge Coco lipsticks retail at RM95 at all Chanel counters
A romantic dream of mine is to ride the Orient Express train – a luxury train that takes you across Europe. Perhaps along the way, there might be a train murder mystery to solve. Or maybe not 😛
But this train was what came to mind when I saw that Chanel has a little collection out for Summer 2010 called Orient Extreme – nothing to do with the trains. I just had to tell you my little dream 😛
Now, why am I telling you about Chanel’s summer collection? Its because I have a little rant to go with it. This is a small collection – just an eye shadow duo and nail colours. That’s not my rant.
Ever since I read about the new Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick, I knew I was going to get them. The local news grapevine told me it was expected in Malaysia in early April 2010 and I was content to wait.
Until partner in crime LeGeeque told me they are out on StrawberryNET.com for US$32 each. All I could say was EEKS!!!!! 2 minutes later, a package was on its way to me which I received this morning 😀
Most of the stronger shades are available there with some more muted shades and although I was in the market for something a little more wearable daily, I picked up #22 Paris no thanks to Best Actress Sandra Bullock at the recent Oscars 😛
These are some quick pictures taken under flourescent lighting which isn’t the best to take photos under as most people will tell you. But its a close enough. approximation. I’ve got a swatch below and I’ll put up some better pictures later once I’ve used it a bit.
Valentine’s Day and the 1st day of the Chinese Lunar New Year coincides this year which I can imagine leads to a bit of a quandary for some. In terms of makeup, since red is the colour of love and red is auspicious to the Chinese, its your chance to slick on your favourite red lipsticks! Haha… not like I ever need an excuse 😛

YSL Rouge Volupte #16 Red Temptation
Creamy in texture, opaque in color. Warm bright red that is not for the faint hearted but if you pull it off, its stunning! Chinese New Year is a good time to pull this one out and if you will be leaving lipstick on anyone’s collar, this is a good one to stake your claim with 😉
Lancome Color Fever #151 – Red Avant RM75
This was released in the Declaring Indigo collection. Yes it is B.R.I.G.H.T and its matte. A combination I rarely go with but this works somehow. Its not drying and applies smoothly. Amp up the glam with a touch of shimmery gloss in the middle (I use my magic gloss Guerlain Crystal Pearl gloss)
