Being content and living your life in the best way you can

I turn another year older today, and as I’m wont to do, I like to ruminate on what this aging process has taught me. This year turned out to be educational in more ways than one.

I had lunch with a friend recently, talking about what’s been going on in our lives. I mentioned that I had slowed down significantly in the rat race, opting to sit by the sidelines, as opposed to running the race down by the track.

While we agreed that it isn’t the easiest thing to do, and involves sacrifice, I shared that my choice was borne out by an approach to life that I’d adopted in the past year – being content with what I have.

Every year as the Holidays (Christmas) collections are released, there will be brands that stand out. This year, I predict that Cle de Peau Beaute will be that brand, because the Cle de Peau Rêve de Kimono (Kimono Dream) collection is a STUNNER!

Cle de Peau Beaute has always released beautiful pieces in their Holiday collection. Last year, they drew inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, with a whimsical design.

This year, they are going the traditional route, with a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL design and packaging of a small, but compact collection that will make you say “TAKE ALL MY MONEY!” 😀

Every time Hourglass releases a new Ambient Lighting palette, I tell myself I’m not getting it. Every single time (almost), I fail in my resolve LOL!

This year, when Hourglass leaked pictures of their upcoming Ambient Lighting Edit Palette – Ghost, I had a deja vu moment. It looked far too much like the other Ambient Lighting Edit Palettes I already own (original, Vol. 3 and Unlocked) to justify buying. Also, I found it sadly unexciting.

Then, a few days later, I came across another release – the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Quad – Ghost. And on this, I pounced! 😀

Call me jaded, but not much has interested me in the beauty world in recent times. Everything feels like more of the same, rehashed. Yet, something interested me enough for me to go all the way to Sunway Pyramid (the other side of the globe, for all I care!) to learn about a brand new brand entering our cosmetics market – Natura.

I had been keeping my pulse on Natura for a while, ever since I read that The Body Shop was sold to it. It wasn’t a brand or company I’d come across before, and that intrigued me.

This was more so, when I learnt that Natura hails from Brazil. Its exotic origins had me even more intrigued than ever! So here’s some bits and bites about Natura.
