FYI! New from Lancôme : Blanc Expert Melanolyser III and UV Expert XL-Shield

Lancôme Malaysia has been a little quiet of late but I was recently given the opportunity to find out a little more about what they have in store for us in the coming couple of months, in terms of their skincare. Naturally, you get the info fresh from the oven, as I got it 🙂

First off, Lancôme unveils a new ambassador in the face of upcoming actress Lily Collins. Since I suffer from celebrity blindness, I had to look her up 😛 Her delicate, gamine features bring to mind that of a young Audrey Hepburn. She will be seen on the big screen soon in a romantic comedy Love, Rosie and you see her in the 2 promotional images above for 2 newly reformulated products in Lancôme’s popular Blanc Expert and UV Expert ranges.

I have to admit that I didn’t realise that it was the same face in both ad images. I told you I suffer from celeb blindness right? I have very poor recognition for celebrities but it’s nice to see a lovely fresh face.

As for what’s new, here’s what we can expect.

Somewhere in the middle of the year (2013, if you’re a visitor from the future – hey, it happens!) Lancome did a collaboration with Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz where selected mascaras and eyeshadow palettes were given the Alber Elbaz makeover with cartoon drawings and lots of hearts. There was also a cute cartoon runway show video. Missed it? Refresh your memory here.

Here then is one of the palettes from that collection, the Lancome Doll Eyes Eyeshadow Palette in D05 Gris Fume. Yes, I realise I may be late and that this limited edition packaging may be sold out by now but take heart, the palette itself is permanent!

But since we’re at it, here’s the limited edition packaging for the Lancome x Alber Elbaz collection. Wanna know a secret? I don’t like it. Sorry. I much prefer the plain black compact used in Lancome’s regular line. Sacrilege yes? Everyone loved it. Ahem. Well except me, lah 😛

Oh but there’s something I do like about this palette, and that is that the base is magnetized. So, the cover closes with a magnet, and best of all, the applicators don’t fall out, because they are held on by magnets. Now, when will other brands cotton on that this is a GREAT IDEA? 😛

Lancome Gloss in Love: Summer Lovin’ and having a Glittermania blast

In Love… in love… Lancome hopes you’ll fall in love with their new gloss offering – Gloss in Love, the follow up to the Rouge in Love lipsticks launched last year. Some of you may remember I disliked them. Oh yeah. About the only one in the world who did haha! Perhaps my expectations were too built up then. But I was taken unawares when I first heard about and received the Gloss in Love lipglosses so my mind was a little more open.

There are 12 shades available in highly shimmery and glittery textures (Edit: I stand corrected by Tracy! There are shades WITHOUT shimmer and glitter). The one I have here is #144 Glittermania. Oh yeah. It was! 😀

Those who have an aversion to glitter and shimmer in lip products will likely shy away in horror. The shimmer is not for the faint-hearted! But believe me, if you just take that one step forward and leave an open mind, it might just surprise you at how pretty it can be! I know, PB liking a lipgloss. Will wonders never cease 😉

New! Lancôme Advanced Génifique & Alber Elbaz x Lancôme Collection

Are you a Lancôme Génifique user?

I remember when this was first launched here and I tried it back then. My skin didn’t take to it however, but my Mom raves about this at every opportunity. She likes the La Prairie Caviar Liquid Lift serum but if I gave her an option, she’d go back to her Génifique in a heartbeat. I know many women feel the same way.

Clearly, Lancôme knows they’re onto a winning formula when they see one, yet they saw fit to improve on it. In 2013, we see the Lancôme Advanced Génifique make its appearance. On the makeup side, Lancôme has also collaborated with Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz for a capsule makeup collection focused entirely on the eyes. Here’s a very cute video on it – tell me which iconic Lancome product he’s making over? 😉
