Some of you may remember the huge promotional blitz surrounding the launch of the Lancome Rouge in Love lipsticks. If you are someone who is new to wearing lipstick, I do think that the Rouge in Love range is a good place to start looking. There are 3 groups of colours to suit 3 different “moods” – Jolis Matins (day wear where colours are light), Boudoir Time (mid tone “cocktail” colours) and Tonight is my Night (deep intense colour). There are 27 colours available locally so you can go a little crazy 😛

If you aren’t sure of what yours is (and really, there’s no need to be pigeon holed!) the letters after the numbers will tell you what they are. M (Jolis Matins), B (Boudoir Time) and N (Tonight is my Night). The colour I have here is 280N Bibi Rose, which you may have guessed belongs in the “Tonight is my Night” range so what we should expect to get is a deep intense colour suitable for the night.

Well, lets just say that I haven’t fallen in love with the Lancome Rouge in Love series of lipsticks. I’ll tell you why, naturellement 😉

Playing at dolls with the Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara

Lancome has just launched their Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara locally and you might have already seen lots and lots of reviews online that rave about how perfectly dolly looking your eyes can look with this mascara on your lashes. The conical brush reaches for all the smallest, shortest lashes, and the formula gives length and curls your lashes, fanning them out so you look like you have… erm… doll eyes.

Interestingly, I believe the Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara was available worldwide last year (2011) actually. I did wonder why we weren’t seeing it locally. But I digress. You know, I read up and down the internet about how lovely and wonderful a product is, and when I don’t experience that sort of skies lifting, angels singing, sunlight streaming, raise your arms in the air and say “Hallelujah!” moment, I feel a bit…. upset.

I guess you know how I feel about the mascara now.

I did not have that skies lifting, angels singing, sunlight streaming, raise your arms in the air and say “Hallelujah!” moment that everyone did.

“Green” as in Fresh, Grass, Mojito and Lancome Vert Tendresse Eyeshadow Palette

I learnt something very interesting last week. Lancome’s new Roseraie des Delices collection for Spring 2012 has 3 different palettes available worldwide bearing the same name – Vert Tendresse. Can I just say I’m gobsmacked? The question it now begs is – which palette was the model wearing in the promotional shot, because all the promos use the same model and look!

This is the Lancome Les Yeux Doux C60 Vert Tendresse eyeshadow palette available here in Malaysia and quite possibly in Asia. It is a 4 pan palette of gradational green shades. Karen MBB has the USA version which has 5 shades and Haru has the European version which is also a 4 pan palette, but with a blue shade in there.

And get this. They are ALL called Vert Tendresse! I don’t know why they do this to us. But this is my review on the Vert Tendresse palette found here in Malaysia. I love green shadow so it’ll be interesting to see how these fare 😉

Spring is Sprung at Lancome with the Roseraie des Delices Spring 2012 collection

I felt Lancome was a little late to the Spring party with the release of their Roseraie des Delices collection but their collection is a clear and pretty tribute to Spring – bright greens and pinks are the order of the day, with sheer pink and peach lips and a pretty blush.

I took a gander down to the Lancome counter to take a look and at the same time, experience something new at the Lancome counters – a personalised hands on makeup step by step lesson by the Lancome makeup artists. If you want to pick up some tips on makeup, keep a lookout for these counter parties, which will be held from time to time. I’ve got some quick deets here 🙂
