Trying out some natural skincare freshly picked on The Herb Farm

May 16, 2018 Paris B Leave a Comment

I was first introduced to one of my favourite skincare brands – Antipodes – through TNS Skinlabs and since then, I have implicitly trusted the selection of brands they carry or offer for me to try. Some hits, like Antipodes, some misses (never liked the Shikai haircare). So, when I was offered a chance to try another natural skincare range from New Zealand, I agreed to have a go.

This was The Herb Farm, a brand I’d never heard of before this.

I was gifted with a set of trial-sized skincare, that is fairly affordable if you’d like to try something new, and is a good enough size to last you about a month or a little more. The set I have is The Herb Farm Normal (including sensitive skin) skincare mini set and there is another for oily-combination skin.

The Herb Farm is a family owned business in New Zealand, and their skincare range focuses on using natural ingredients, using herbs and herbal remedies. I can’t deny I was quite intrigued.

Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser : Affordable, Effective but does not smell of roses

April 23, 2018 Paris B 13 Comments

I’d been using the Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser for a while now, and didn’t realize that it was fairly new to the Pixi Beauty range till I tried to find some reviews on it. To my surprise, there aren’t many out there. I’m not sure now when I bought it. It could be early this year (2018) but it was during one of my Cult Beauty purchases. I must have tossed it into my cart without thinking too much about it.

I have used the famed Glow Tonic and like it. I also have tried a few other products by Pixi Beauty – the Rose Oil, Glow Tonic wipes, Double Cleanse, Cleansing Balm, just to name a few – but I often forget to showcase them LOL 😛 It was opportune that I have received a few inquiries about the Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser, after showing a picture on Instagram a while ago, that I finally remembered to blog about this one.

I am partial to a cream cleanser, and this being by Pixi, which I have high regards for as a brand, had me curious.

8 Things I’m really enjoying using that I think you will love too – Just in time for ‘ang pow’ spending!

February 14, 2018 Paris B 15 Comments

I am going to be trite and say this “I cannot believe that we are halfway through February 2018!” Is it me, or is 2018 flying by a little too quickly for comfort? Slow down! I want to cry. And I guess I will have some time to slow down soon, with the Lunar New Year festivities upon us.

This year, the barking Dog chases the Rooster out of our home, and I will be taking a few days off, as I do at this time of year, to celebrate the festivities and spend time at home with the family. Incidentally, if you want to stay in touch with blog posts, you can sign up here for a weekly email that goes out with a compilation of that week’s blog posts, so you don’t have to miss out on any future posts!

But before I leave you for the festivities, I wanted to quickly share some things I’ve been loving, that I think you might love too! Or at least, some things you can save your ang pow money for 😀 I’ve made sure that they’re (mostly) permanent products because I despise the limited edition push to buy NOW, as much as anyone else.

There are a couple of items that I may elaborate on in future review (holler, if there is one you want to see in greater depth!) but I wanted to make sure I told you about these things, some of which I’ve been using for months now, and thoroughly loving to bits! 😀

My Skincare Routine September 2017 : Use it up or lose it! Products I have emptied

October 9, 2017 Paris B 34 Comments

I shared my skincare routine last in August 2017, and said I’d make it a more regular segment here on the blog, if only for my personal reference, to remind myself of what works (and what doesn’t). What you may notice is that while the products will switch around and change from time to time, the structure of my routine remains pretty much the same, which is what makes it a “routine”.

In August, I was all about calming down my skin that was feeling sensitive. By September, my skin was calm and zen, and I was ready to play around again. But I set myself a goal.

skincare routine september 2017

I had a bunch of skincare that were either on their last legs, or almost expired, and I gave myself a challenge of either using them up, or tossing them out.

Happily, I ended up using up and emptying quite a few items, which made me very happy. I know it is odd to be happy about emptying a skincare product (I should be sad, as it means I have to purchase something to fit its missing hole in my routine) but I have other similar products waiting in line to take its place, and I was excited to have a go at them! 😀 #beautyjunkieproblems

So, here’s my skincare routine in September 2017 including what I’d finished, and I’ll tell you if I’ll repurchase them 🙂 Feel free to share your thoughts, or even your routine with me! I’m a nosy parker 😀
