Cleansing Cream

Expanding my cream cleanser wardrobe with the Antipodes Grace Gentle Cream Cleanser

December 5, 2016 Paris B 8 Comments

If there’s one skincare product that I run through fairly often, it’s cleanser. All sorts of cleansers, so I always have a little stockpile ready, of the ones I want to use next. Often, I actually get bored with the one I’m currently using, and wish I could just skip to the next LOL!

The one I’m using most regularly now, is the Antipodes Grace Gentle Cream Cleanser.

Antipodes, as some of you have noticed by now, is a brand from New Zealand, that I have a bit of a special affinity with. For some reason, the skincare products work incredibly well for my skin, and I always fall in love with every new item I try. Well, most of them. There’s one I’m not crazy about (Apostle serum, if anyone’s wondering) but in the main, it’s a brand that has and can do little wrong for me.

Interesting therefore, when it’s a certified organic brand of natural cosmetics, for I have been and still am a little wary of organic and natural skincare. Antipodes is the exception.

Some of you might remember that I loved the Hallelujah cream cleanser, which I still do (and have one waiting in my skincare cupboard to break out). But when I was browsing at TNS Skinlab (the local store that carries this brand), I spotted another cream cleanser, so naturally (ooh pun 😛 ) into my shopping cart it went!

Your Say: What’s your favourite type of facial cleanser?

November 2, 2016 Paris B 50 Comments

Foaming. Mousse. Cream. Oil. Balm. Water. Jelly. Milk. Did I miss any?

The variety available these days is mind-boggling!

But, I have to know. What’s your favourite type of cleanser?

favourite type of cleanser

When I was first introduced to using proper skincare by my Mom, I was given a tube of foaming cleanser. Back in the day, everyone used foaming cleanser. Come to think of it, these days, everyone will use or will have used a foaming cleanser at some point. I challenge you to tell me otherwise! 😀

As I left home and started buying my own skincare, I stuck with the tried and true. Hello. Foaming cleansers were awesome! That squeaky clean feeling of skin after a long grimy day at college. Ahh….

These days, I run screaming at the sight of a tube of foaming cleanser LOL! 😀 In fact, I’d suggest you do too 😛

Affordable and effective, the Sukin Cream Cleanser ticks all the right boxes!

August 10, 2016 Paris B 20 Comments

Cream cleansers. I can’t get enough of them! In fact, I’m now wondering why it took me so long to get around to loving them. It might be because the ones I’d tried many years ago were awful and oily and yucky.

But as with everything, cream cleansers have improved so much in recent years that there are so many options available now that I’ve tried and love. I’ll have a round up of some of my favourites very soon, but before that I had to tell you about this affordable find! I know, you perk up when I use the word “affordable” don’t you? LOL!

The product in question is the Sukin Cream Cleanser. I honestly cannot remember who it was who told me I should try this but it’s one of you readers (who I swear, enable my buys as much as you claim I enable your buys! LOL! 😀 ). I used to use the Sukin foaming face wash almost a decade ago when I had a tighter budget, but I hadn’t used anything from Sukin in many many years. This was my first foray back into the brand, in a bid to find an affordable cream cleanser.

And wow, did I find one or what?! I love this, and it’s so affordable too! (by my standards 😛 )

Skincare Hack: Help! I have no makeup remover, what can I use?

July 27, 2016 Paris B 20 Comments

Ever had an emergency when you need to remove your makeup, but don’t have a makeup remover on hand? I’m usually quite well organised when it comes to my skincare, so I don’t usually have this problem. When I’m travelling, I usually have a small bottle of cleansing water / micellar water on hand, and I’m proud of myself for being so organized.

But I recently found myself in this exact predicament. Pride comes before a fall, as they say!

use moisturiser to remove makeup

Lest you think there’s a juicy story behind it, there isn’t LOL! 😀 It was on my most recent flight home, when I had boarded the plane and was about to cleanse my face. I had on some brow pencil and a light layer of BB Cushion and concealer… but I realised that my on-board toiletries pouch had no cleanser! No makeup remover, no cleansing water, no cleanser.

What was a girl to do? Well, improvise of course! 😉
