Another mist? Another MIST?!
Why not? LOL! You may have seen me mention the Murad Hydration Prebiotic 3-in-1 MultiMist in a recent preview post. It was the product that intrigued me the most from the new Murad Prebiotic line, so that’s the one I put to the test.

The Murad Prebiotic 3-in-1 MultiMist not only hydrates, but also helps maintain healthy skin by replenishing prebiotics to our skin – good bacteria. Bet you didn’t realize we needed bacteria eh? 😛
I have to say, my experience has been primarily a positive one 🙂
Murad Prebiotic 3-in-1 MultiMist – Prebiotic skincare
I did a run-down of the range in my introduction the Murad Prebiotic range, so I’d suggest you read the why and what behind it.

In gist, prebiotics feed the good bacteria and beneficial organisms in our body. These beneficial organisms, which include bacteria and yeast, are known as probiotics. So, Prebiotics are the food for these Probiotics.
The prebiotics in the Murad range are designed to feed these good bacteria on our skin, which will help it rebalance itself, combat dryness, and sensitivity and strengthen our skin. This also helps combat the signs of aging.

A fine, hydrating mist
The Murad Prebiotic 3-in-1 MultiMist is quite interesting. Unlike most mists which are clear, this one’s milky. You can’t really see it, because of the pink bottle. It reminds me a little of the Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist. Because of the texture, I shake it up before using.
Not only does it contain prebiotics that feed our skin and rebalance the microbiome for healthier skin, it also contains a yeast peptide to lock in hydration and hydrating sugars to moisturize and refresh skin.
The mist sprays out quite fine, provided you hold it about 20cm away from your face. Any closer, it can feel a little strong. In that sense, it is not as fine as the Pixi mist is. But it does not hit your skin like a jet spray of water.
I like that it is fine enough, that it mists a damp spray over my skin, enough so I can layer on my products. Yet, if I feel like I want something wetter, I can spray a little more. It isn’t terribly uncomfortable that way.
I don’t know how most people will use a facial mist, but if you follow me long enough, you’d know that all my facial mists are used in the ‘moisture sandwich’ technique. You must therefore bear this in mind, for all appraisal of any facial mist.

I find this Murad Prebiotoc 3-in-1 MultiMist perfect for the moisture sandwich.

It is fine enough to allow me to sandwich my skincare without feeling heavy. Yet, it offers my skin sufficient hydration and moisture, so my skin feels plumped and looks glowy thereafter.
I am fairly generous with my misting, as anyone who has ever watched my Instagram Stories can attest LOL! So I was afraid that it would run out quickly.
However, because the misting pump dispenses a fine mist, I think you actually don’t use as much product as you think you do. I’ve been using this mist exclusively for about 3 weeks, and I’m about halfway through the bottle. That is a pretty decent amount, considering how much misting I do!
Is the Murad Prebiotic 3-in-1 MultiMist any better than any other mist out there?
I go through facial mist quite quickly, and you can read about the what, why and how here and if you’re looking for review of the mists I’ve used, you can run a search, or click here.
I’m sure what you want to know is whether this is any better than the other mists I’ve used. The answer is yes and no.
Yes, this Murad mist is better than any plain water mist. This includes brands like Avene, Uriage and Evian. Those don’t work well enough for me, as I don’t find them hydrating enough for my purposes.
The Murad mist is also better for me than a rosewater or grape water mist e.g. Melvita, Caudalie or similar.
However, when you enter the realm of facial mists that have been formulated specifically for the purposes of hydration, with more complex ingredients, then I find that the Murad mist is on par with those. This includes the Pixi mists, Jordan Samuel, Josh Rosebrook etc
Usually, these heavier duty mists perform a function of not only hydration, but also contain other beneficial ingredients that help your skin look and feel better. I now find myself gravitating towards products like these, because they work better for my purposes at delivering hydration to my skin, and operate better in a moisture sandwich.
This later category is also pricier than compressed water, so in terms of prices, I again place the Murad Prebiotic mist on par with them.
Essentially, I am very happy using the Murad Prebiotic 3-in-1 MultiMist and don’t have much gripes about it. It slots nicely into my skincare routine, doesn’t cause problems, hydrates my skin a treat and feels comfortable.
IN A NUTSHELL
The Murad Prebiotic 3-in-1 MultiMist not only hydrates, but also contains prebiotics to feed the good bacteria on skin. This helps strengthen skin and keeps it healthy. It is also enriched with peptides to maintain hydration and is quite moisturizing. I employ it in the moisture sandwich technique, which I find keeps dehydration at bay, and also makes my skin feel more hydrated and plumped. While this mist isn’t better than other brands in a similar category, it is much better than any plain water facial mist in the market. I’d spend the money on this vs an aerosol can of compressed thermal water.PROS:
