Touted as the Rolls Royce of facial mists, does Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator live up to its reputation?

June 24, 2019 Paris B 2 Comments

Ever since I became more than a little obsessed with using facial mists, I’d come across mention of the Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator. It has been touted as pretty much being the Rolls Royce of facial mists.

Naturally, I was curious.

What was so great about this product, that so many people rave over it? It isn’t something you see talked about locally (Malaysia) because it’s not available here, and because it is pricey.

But overseas, among skincare afficionados, Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator is spoken of in hushed, almost reverent tones. Well, I had to see what the fuss was about! 😀

If you’re in the market for a facial mist water-bout trying the Jordan Samuel Hydrate Mist

September 12, 2018 Paris B 6 Comments

I run through facial sprays like erm… water; so am always on the lookout for a new one to try. You may too, if you were as liberal using one as I am with my moisture sandwich skincare method! One brand that had been on my radar for a while was a niche little brand – Jordan Samuel Skin. When I had a bout of dry skin recently, I was recommended the Hydrate Serum. But since I was paying for shipping anyway, I also picked up another cult favourite – the Jordan Samuel Hydrate Mist.

Jordan Samuel made his name with the Hydrate serum, which I’ll tell you about another day. But realizing that you can’t hydrate your skin with just water – you need something more – he came up with the Mist.

To be honest, it took me a little while to figure out if it was indeed working for me.

Facial Mists are a staple in my skincare routine : Why, What and How do I use them?

February 23, 2018 Paris B 34 Comments

Often, when I show you my skincare routine either here on the blog or on Instagram, one item tends to catch the attention of most. The facial mist. The most common question I get is “What does it do? Is it even necessary?”

I thought it would be a good time to address this.

why use facial mist

I’ll share my thoughts about why I use facial mists or facial sprays, and how I use them, and you can tell me then if it’s something you use, or if it’s just a waste of time for you 🙂 No right or wrong rules here, people! I’ll also quickly run down the ones I have here and share some thoughts on why I like them (or don’t). I have a few others that I’ve used, but no longer have the bottles. If I can remember what they are, I’ll include them in the list 🙂 So, hang on tight, here we go!

Save & Splurge: Coming up Roses – The Rose Floral Water Facial Mists Edition

September 24, 2014 Paris B 27 Comments

I’m not the world’s biggest fan of rose scents but I cannot deny that the delicate scent of fresh rose blooms uplifts the spirit and makes me feel girly and happy. Rose water is also popular for use as a face mist, to hydrate skin, set makeup or just refresh yourself when it’s hot.

I happen to be quite a fan of the Melvita Damask Rose Floral Water of which I’ve already gone through about 2 bottles thus far, from the days when it came in a lovely glass bottle, till it’s current packaging in a plastic bottle. I like how soothing and comfortable it is on my skin and I use it primarily as a post-cleanse facial treat.

But you know what? As lovely as it is, I found it pricey. I recently tried a new brand on a bit of a whim and to my surprise, I like it, and it’s very kind to my wallet. So here we have it – a Save and Splurge post for rose floral waters. I haven’t done one of these for a long time have I? 😀
