Pucker Up for the Lunasol Full Glamour Liquid Lips in No. 07 Sugar Pink

November 30, 2011 Paris B 52 Comments

Most of you ladies who visit regularly will know of my love for bright or red lip colours and my failure to find a nude lip colour that does not wash me out, or one that I might like without making me look like a corpse. When I first set eyes on the Lunasol Full Glamour Liquid Lips in #07 Sugar Pink I thought “Oh no! I’m going to look dead!”

See what I mean? In the tube it is a very very pale peach pink that is almost a nude colour. It is a color I will never voluntarily pick up myself but sometimes, its good to step outside your comfort zone. Sometimes, that might enable you to try and find something you may never have thought of trying. So it is with a little hesitation that I say that I do like this lip shade. Very much.

Might the ZA Cosmetics Impact Lash Mascara Volume be an affordable solution to a pricey mascara problem?

November 29, 2011 Paris B 40 Comments

Remember how I crowed with glee about finding my “Perfect Mascara” from Shiseido and then howled with despair at the cost it would cost me to upkeep that perfect lash? Ah guess what? I found a reasonable replacement in the ZA Cosmetics Impact Lash Mascara! It might interest you to note also that ZA Cosmetics is one of Shiseido’s sub-brands too so that might explain something 🙂 That said, I tried the ZA Cutie Curl mascara many years ago. I binned it quite quickly. Hated that one 😛

I’d been trialing this mascara for quite a while now to be very sure about how I felt about it. It comes in a typical mascara tube with a light pink and black colour scheme. I can’t be too sure about this but I think ZA has in fact re-branded themselves quite recently, turning their brand colours to pink when it was blue before. I had never quite paid much attention to this brand for various reasons. Mainly because it just never caught my attention! But I just last week bought a sparkly lipgloss from them so I’m keen to see how that will fare 🙂

But today its about this Impact Lash Mascara in the Volume formula and what I think of it.

My Women Stuff Nails it!

nails

Ladies who love nails rejoice! 😀

After much thought, I’ve decided to open up My Women Stuff to posts on nails! I know I’ve said often that I’m not good with nail polish and I have appalling care for my nails to be honest. So rather than leave you in my inexpert hands and sully your eyes with poorly applied nail polish, I’ve enlisted 2 talented ladies as nail contributors on MWS 😀

Wanna know who they are? 😀

L’Oreal Youth Code Pre-Essence : Cracking the Code of Youth

November 28, 2011 Paris B 19 Comments

PB Says: Early this month, I despatched guest writer Juan to the exclusive media launch of the L’Oreal Youth Code Pre-Essence in Malaysia. Youth Code is a range of skincare I have been watching and waiting to enter our local market and now they are here! Well, starting with Pre-Essence anyway, and I’m told the rest of the range will follow. Its got huge raves overseas and I’m curious to see how it will fare. Let’s see what Juan’s report says.

l'oreal youth code pre essence

Few things that first caught my eye when L’oreal Paris launched the Youth Code Pre-Essence recently:

1. Their tagline – Have You Cracked The Code of Youth
2. The word, “Prodigious” on the box. Like, whoa…

The tagline is something they would have to creatively come up with, with the many many products in the market that promise youthful appearance of the skin, bla bla bla. So, how does one know which one they should get? Could it be the pricing? This one’s priced at RM109 per bottle. Pretty steep for a drugstore brand, don’t you think? What will make you buy it? Does the tagline appeal strong enough to you to warrant a purchase or do you need more testimony to its efficacy?

Well, at first glance, it just looks like any other anti-aging product.

At second glance, you might just take the droplet and apply the serum onto your hand.

Now, this product is branded as a pre-essence, which means that it needs to be applied before your usual serum. Apparently, it claims that from its 10-year gene research, the product helps your skin absorb the nutrients and benefits of your usual serum.

Sounds like many other serum-ey products in the market, right? But the ‘gene research’ sounded just like its more high-end sister, Lancome Genifique. But let’s not go there because unlike its sister, this one’s much less painful to the wallet 😉

Would you get a “pre-essence”, though?

Famous last words 😅 Can’t believe how tiny he was last CNY. I could make him do whatever I wanted. Now, he’s got a mind of his own and it’s “no treats, no work!” 🤪
It’s an unusual Chinese New Year this year. It’s the first time since I left home that I did not make an early morning drive home for CNY for the reunion dinner (I always do so to beat traffic). It’s the first time I’m spending CNY in KL. It’s the first time my hair is looking such a mess for CNY 😂
Regardless, we do this not for ourselves but for others so we can have more joyful CNY celebrations to come.
Wishing all of you a Happy, healthy Chinese New Year filled with Ox-picious tidings 🧧 Gong Xi Fa Cai and enjoy the festive break! ❤️
