Waiting for Lancome O My Rose Spring 2010 Collection

February 4, 2010 Paris B 22 Comments

Unlike Fall/Winter where beauty companies grabbed us by the lapels and shoved their collections in our faces at one go, leaving most of us reeling, the same companies are going a little slow for Spring 2010. Well, slow for us here in Malaysia anyway. Dior was one of the first to showcase their Lace Collection for Spring 2010 which was already out in January 2010 but the other companies are taking things slow. Lancome for one, has been noticably quiet and playing a little coy.

Lancome O my Rose Spring 2010 blush

In a way, I’m glad because I was really lusting after the Lancome Pop n Cheeks Gentle Lasting Blush in Coral Flirt. It was up there as a Spring 2010 lemming together with the Dior Poudrier Dentelle and Guerlain Cherry Blossom blush. Thus far, Dior has not disappointed while I did not get the Guerlain blush.

Gut feeling tells me I might pass on the Coral Flirt blush too because the story is that the gold bits are overspray and what you will end up with is a peach blush of which I have a ton of. One time I’m glad I did not run off and get it right off the bat.

However, all is not lost. Lancome has me by the throat in their Pop n Green eyeshadow palette. Ooh pit-a-pat be still my heart! But I’m confused about the eyeshadow palettes.

Is the green eyeshadow palette in the Lancome O My Rose collection called “Pop n Petrol” in a rectangle case with rectangle pans or is it called “Pop n Green” in the usual square case and round pans we are familiar with? Doing a lot of research online, I’m seeing both but not at the same time and the mind boggles.

You see the conundrum? Some sites list the eyeshadow palettes as Pop n Petrol while others list it as Pop n Green. From experience, the round pans tend to be for the Europe and Asian market while the square pans tend to be for the North American market. The texture of the eyeshadow is different (I prefer the round pans), which is why I’m a little puzzled.

The reason I’m getting even more puzzled is because some European bloggers are listing Pop n Petrol and USA bloggers are listing Pop n Green in the collection. Your head spinning already? Mine is 😛

Anyway, all the puzzlement aside, I’m hoping we get Pop n Green. I love the look of it, even if it looks a little similar to the #105 palette or even the #104 palette I already own. Quality is par excellance and the greens are fresh and pretty and besides, I take greens on the eyes well 😀

I’ll bring you news of the launch of the Lancome O My Rose collection when I have it. For now, I’ll continue my sleuthing in the hope of finding out which eyeshadow palette we can expect to see 🙂

    Hi Paris =)

This is the first post for me but I was a big fan of yours for so long. I live in Bangkok, so we tend to get the same stuff when it comes to make up. The reason why I post this is because I ran into the fiasco of different makeup sets from Lancome.

I was recently in the U.S. and I have seen and played with pop n’green myself. I loved it and would like to buy it right there. Unfortunately, I was told that the palette was sold out at the Nordstorm I went, and by the time they restock the palette, I would be leaving for home. So I said to myself that I would definitely get it in Bangkok once it came out.

So it did came out in Thailand late last week. To my disappointment, pop n’green (shadow palette no. 18), is not the same as in the U.S. This pop n’green palette released in Thailand has Japanese alphabets all over so I can tell it was made there. I ended up getting the pop n’ petrol instead and is quite happy about the color combination and color payoff.

I also got the blush. Once the gold overspray wore off (which was pretty fast with glitter all over my face, not good!) it wasn’t that pigmented though.

I hope this help and hopefully this is not going to be my last post.

    Take care,
    T

Hi T, Its great to hear from you! I do hope you drop by more often 🙂 Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this new Lancome collection. I’m still waiting to see it for myself and hopefully I won’t be disappointed! Glad to hear that Pop n Petrol is nice. The pictures look a bit blah to me but then things could change in person

I kinda like the look of pop n petrol seeing as there are no two similar colors in there compared to pop n green

I think I’m gonna skip this collection. I love green eyeshadows but for some reason those palettes don’t appeal to me. It’s probably because I already have similar colors in my stash. The blush looks gorgeous but if the gold bits are oversprayed than it’s not worth getting it for me.

Yeah the gold bits of the blush are definitely overspray. I always dislike it when cosmetic companies do this to us 🙁

I love the greens, they look promising, but we’ll see! What I know from the press release, is that we’ll be getting Pop n Petrol, at RM140. There’s also another colour combo, called Pop n Copper.

I saw pics of Pop n Copper but I’m definitely NOT getting that one – too warm. I guess either set of greens will look good. I’m just a little worried about that olive shade in Pop n Petrol. Hurry up already, Lancome!

Hi Paris, I am in the US and we got here Pop n Green, which is different from #104 and #105, and Pop n Copper; texture wise I prefer the 104 & 105, these new ones look somehow hard to me. Pop n Petrol is Europe only, we do not get it here. I did not personally looked at the blush, but read the over spray goes quickly away and you are left with a pale peach/coral blush- not very tempting, I think. Hope you get those too, so you can make an opinion for yourself.
