Dior Pearl Glow Eyeshadow and Pink Lace Poudrier Dentelle Overview and Swatches

I promised you I’d give you swatches of the Dior Spring 2010 Lace collection (the ones I have) and I try to keep my promises where I can 🙂 The Dior Lace Collection is already out at Dior counters – I spotted them last week.

First off, we have the Dior Pearl Glow (RM194) eyeshadow palette. True to the quality of Dior eyeshadows, the texture of the shadows is smooth and they blend very easily. Pearl Glow is an iridescent palette so the colours have shimmer in them – very subtle and glowy though.

Dior 5 Colours Eyeshadow Palette - Pearl Glow swatches

I took swatches by rubbing twice over the shadow before swatching on my hand. Even if you rub hard, the lace pattern does not wear off that quickly.

The colours go on smooth and there is  a good mix of light and dark shades in there. The only colour that does not show up as it should is the pink which swatches a little lighter than expected which works better for me. I’ll be honest. This palette is imminently dupable. If you have similar colours or previous Dior eyeshadow palettes, you could recreate the combination and looks. I don’t so I’m happy 😀

Next up is the Dior Poudrier Dentelle Pink Lace (RM186) palette. Its been used quite a bit by now but the white lace pattern seems to be going a lot of the way through.

Its not easy to swatch Pink Lace – the pink shows up light and the white highlight shows up frosty. What you get on your skin however, is a glowy sort of highlight. If you use just the pink bit, you get a pale pink blush that’s very pretty.

Dior Poudrier Dentelle Pink Lace Swatches

This is one item that looks much better in real life than in pictures so I’d suggest you see it for yourself 🙂

Reader Katie was curious as to how the Dior Pink Lace palette compares to the Dior Poudre Shimmer in Rose Diamond so I did a side by side comparison for her.

Dior Pink Lace vs Dior Poudre Shimmer Rose Diamond

Rose Diamond is pinker while Pink Lace is… well… pinker. Pink Lace feels softer and can crumble more easily while the Poudre Shimmer highlighters are harder to the touch. Both are gorgeous – I can’t choose 😛

I did a look with most of the Dior Dentelle collection early this month. I’ve since done another using some other colours in the Dior Pearl Glow eyeshadow palette.

I only used the Dior Pearl Glow eyeshadow palette for this look:-

  • Purple (top left) – from lashline and smudged upwards and outwards
  • Light Pink (bottom right) – outer lid
  • Silver (top right) – inner corners and brow bone to highlight

2010 has just started but I’m so in love with the Dior Pearl Glow palette! The colours are understated yet give an iridescent glow that lasts the whole day for me without a base. Its very delicate and to me, very professional. Also, its very foolproof!

And those are my thoughts for this collection. If you already have similar shades in eyeshadow, you can skip it no matter how pretty it looks.

If you want to get just 1 item from the Dior Lace Collection, go with the Poudrier Dentelle Lace powder. Its not only beautiful to look at, its also beautiful to use 🙂 I haven’t swatched the peach one, so if you have and want to share your thoughts, please feel free to share below! 😀

So, tempted yet? 😉

Mmm… I like the look you did with the eye palette! But I guess I can live without it since I seldom do eye makeup… 😛

I love both your palettes… sooo pretty. I actually want to get the Dior Poudrier Dentelle Pink Lace, but according to the Dior SAs, it is a highlighter instead of a blusher. Can we use this as a blusher as I do not normally use highlighter.

Its meant to be a highlighter but if you have light enough skintone, it shows up as a very light pink blush. I always use it as a light blush with a firmer blush brush 🙂 Try it and see for yourself 🙂

Thanks for the wonderful review! It looks beautiful on you! I was extremely tempted by this palette mostly because of the lace 🙂 But the colours are not exactly unique and I think I have quite a few eyeshadows in similar shades.

Yup! If you have similar shades then its not so worth getting – but if you don’t… 😉
