Vichy LiftActiv CxP Eyelid Lifting cream for your Peepers

February 4, 2010 Paris B 15 Comments

Vichy LiftActiv CxP Anti-Wrinkle Eyelid Lifting care

I’m very good about sticking to a skincare regime for my face. But I tend to be a bit slack about my eyes. Eyes are the windows to the soul and yet I’m a little erratic about using eye creams. So this time, while test running the new Vichy LiftActiv CxP Anti-Wrinkle Eyelid Lifting cream, I made it a point to be more diligent about using it day and night.

Vichy LiftActive CxP Yeux or eye cream promises to reduce dark circles and puffiness around the eye area and correct wrinkles and lift the skin around the eyes. Slight problem – I do not have deep wrinkles, very saggy skin or dark circles. Hmm…

That little problem aside, I found myself liking this eye cream. Unlike many other eye creams I’ve used, the texture of the cream is a little thick. It squeezes out of the tube thick which is rather deceptive. I squeeze out some on my 4th finger, spread it out with the 4th finger of my other hand and then apply to the eye area, with slight pressure and then tapping it in.

The nice thing is that it absorbs very quickly without feeling sticky or oily and leaves skin feeling velvety smooth.

Vichy LiftActiv CxP Anti-Wrinkle Eyelid Lifting Care is quite thick

I must agree that there was some depuffing action going on. It could be the caffeine at work. But I do look a little more awake almost quite instantly. It also contains Vitamin C but I can’t see the visible effects of that so I can’t say if it works. I can’t tell you if it will plump up lines as any lines I have aren’t very noticable, but I do notice my eye area looking much smoother these days. This is the only cream I’m using so it has to be this one.

Do note that it says “Anti-Wrinkle EyeLID Lifting Care” so if you have undereye bags you want to depuff, you might or might not find it working for you. Not having the problem, I cannot tell you if it will work. On puffy LIDS, it works for me.

I did not find it drying but at the same time, its not hydrating in the conventional sense of the word. You will not feel the usual sense of hydration on the skin. What I like about this eye cream is that because it isn’t “wet” on the skin, it makes an excellent eye makeup primer!

One of the reasons I don’t use eye cream in the day is because the “wet” feel of it screws up my eye makeup. But this one does not. It feels silky on the skin and acts as a good base for my eye colours and holds them fast just like an eyelid primer. Saves me money – I don’t need a separate lid primer Hah! But then I don’t usually use an eyelid primer anyway LOL!

A 15ml tube retails at RM130 but you don’t use a lot so 1 tube can last you a long long while. Personally I like this one but as with all skincare products, your mileage may vary 🙂

Pros: Reduces puffiness around the eyes, Doubles up as eyelid primer for eye makeup, Eye area looks smoother

Cons: Some may find it pricey

Thursday! The week is flying past! I’m taking my Mom out for dinner later – its her birthday 😀 Not sure what we’re going to have though – all this feasting and its not even Chinese New Year yet! 😛

What cha doing later today?

I’m finding time to prepare for CNY! Mommy is baking cookies to sell for CNY so as eldest daughter is by default I need to help her =P Other than that my car broke down so I’m stuck with the traditional “walk to where you want to go” =P

Well think of walking as getting some exercise 🙂 And that’s great of you to be helping your mom with the CNY cookies!

I’m testing out Clinique’s All About Eyes (nicked a sample when I replenished my Moisture Surge last week)… first time I’m using something specifically for the eye area and so far I’m liking it and it helps with the puffy-eyed look! Dark circles are still there though, but I’m only on Day 4 of the experiment… hahaha… 🙂

Tonight is Thursday, going to do qi gong with my folks-in-law…very good exercise, sweat and sweat till ur cheeks all flush up, no need to use blusher….hee hee….

I am using Yves Rocher eye cream, which is quite good on depuffing eyes too….can get at 1/2 the price of this one….;-)

That’s great to know Lemon! And exercise is great – I didn’t have the patience for qi gong though. Tried it once 🙂

I am on the lookout for a good eyecream. I have fine lines and dark circles. I have used Laneige, L’Occitane and Shiseido, which are all okay. I might try out StriVectin based on your review.

Strivectin helps with lines but not so with dark circles. I found the Vichy one a more affordable substitute 😉

I went looking for it at Caring Pharmacy 1-U today. I saw an eye cream and it was the same price mentioned above, but i’m not sure if it was the actual same product. It was “hidden” away too, right on the bottom shelf, u won’t notice it if not looking for it. They didn’t have a tester so I didn’t get it. I want to feel if the consistency is the same as u said..

I’m always bit skeptical about eye creams… nothing seems to work…. I’m just glad I read this post 🙂

Hi, apart from wrinkles on lid, does this product lift up eye lids? I mean saggy / droppy eye lids. Noticed mine has been abit droppy. Appreciate your feedback. Tks.

As I don’t have a problem with saggy/droopy lids, I can’t tell if this works for that problem. It does have a lifting effect so there might be some assistance.

In 2010 when this post was written, yes it was but Vichy is no longer available in Malaysia. You can read about it here.

I bought and used many Vichy products when I was a teen (before they were purchased by Loreal and became crappy…LOL), but I must say this was the first ever eye cream that had ZERO, and I mean really zero effect on me. I have no idea why, I normally do get something out of every cream I tried but this just no effect at all.
