Now that all my foundations have expired, I’m relying on and loving the No. 1 de Chanel Revitalizing Foundation

After 2.5 years of not wearing makeup, and then having to head back into society again (albeit hesitantly), I came to an awful realization. My makeup was only fit for a museum.

All the lovely bottles and powders I had had expired, or were in varying stages of expiry. It was a bit of a rude awakening, I must say.

It isn’t to say of course, that I wasn’t going to use some of the products – I operate within tolerances and I push my luck 😛 – but I saw a foundation in the No. 1 de Chanel range and I thought “I want that!”

So, when the opportunity arose for me to test it out in person, I caved and got a bottle of the No. 1 de Chanel Revitalizing Foundation. It was quite gratifying for me to find out that my shade remained the same! LOL!

It’s also been one of my better beauty buys to date! 😀

It’s been so long since I put a lipstick to my lips, I’d almost forgotten how it feels. The past 1.5 years of wearing a mask when out (and not wearing makeup when at home) has consigned most of my lipsticks to the bin.

And I had some really nice ones too!

Perhaps, as a hope of renewal in 2021, and not without a healthy dose of optimism, Chanel decided to launch a new range of lipsticks – Chanel Rouge Coco Bloom.

Promising a hydrating plumping formula and intense shine, these new lipsticks promise to be a treat on lips. And I do like them!

Les Beiges is the only makeup collection I look forward to each year, without fail. While it’s not the most exciting of makeup products, it suits me – simple, basic, neutral. Yet, there is often nothing very simple, basic or neutral about it. Often, the products impress me, even when they don’t impress others. I suppose it comes down to personal preferences.

This is true of Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation. Launched in 2016 (where I tried and reviewed it), and then quietly disappearing, only be relaunched last year in the middle of a pandemic when most people were in lockdown and not leaving houses, ergo, not putting on makeup.

I still don’t go out very much, and I don’t do video calls, so putting on makeup has been something that I haven’t gotten down to doing.

But when I did deign to wear any makeup at all, I gave the new Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation Hydration and Longwear a try, and I was blown away. This was even better than its predecessor!

Goodness, when was the last time I reviewed a makeup product?! (I checked. It was February 2020 – a year ago!) It’s hard to review something when you don’t use it, and makeup has been something I’ve forsaken for the better part of a year.

But recently, I decided to put on a little when I go out, just to keep my hand in, and my eye fell on a tub of Shiseido Minimalist Whipped Powder Blush I bought 2 years back and never used. Thanks, lockdown LOL!

Well, I’m here to tell you that if you too are starting to get back on the makeup bicycle, and are looking around for an easy to use, pretty blush, I’d highly recommend this one from Shiseido – totally blew me away! 😀
