Some days, I’m all about bold lip colours. The bolder and brighter, the better!
Some days, I mellow and reach for tinted lip balms for just a hint of colour on lips. In fact, this is what I reach for most often these days, as I’m often pressed for time, and I’m busy trying to get a new, special project off the ground.
A new tinted lip balm that has come within my radar is the Cle de Peau Beaute Lip Glorifier Glow Revival Conditioning Balm that comes in 3 barely there shades.
Because today’s also Valentine’s Day, I might suggest that instead of going the whole way and vamping up with the red (for which I have a beautiful and legendary one to suggest) why not dial it down and go for something sweet instead, that won’t mess up when things get erm… steamy 😉
Cle de Peau Beaute Lip Glorifier – conditioning lip balm with the mostest!
The Cle de Peau Beaute Lip Glorifier is one of their most understated products. I first experienced it a few years ago, when it was launched as a lip balm. Not being much of a lip balm user, I did not quite appreciate it as much as I should.
Yet, I remember thinking how lovely it felt on lips, and how soft my lips felt after using, without that awful waxy build-up that happens when I wear lip balm.
The Cle de Peau Beaute Lip Glorifier contains Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate derived from liquorice root. This is a fatty acid that soothes and conditions skin, with anti-inflammatory benefits. It also contains botanical oils to infuse lips with moisture.
I suppose after realizing how popular the Lip Glorifier was, it only made sense to infuse it with a hint of colour, for those who want the benefits of a moisturizing, non-waxy lip balm, but with a hint of colour for those lazy days. Someone like me, basically 😛
Lip Glorifier in 3 soft, barely there shades
The Cle de Peau Beaute Lip Glorifier comes in 3 soft, barely there shades. In tube, the colours are quite vibrant, and it is easy to distinguish the shades.
However, when applied, it is very very light and sheer.
I will understand if there are people who may find it a waste of time, when there are other more pigmented lip products in the market, that are similarly moisturizing. I’d tend to agree.
The Lip Glorifier therefore fills that niche of demand from those who aren’t necessarily in the market for a pigmented lip colour. Sometimes, we just want a hint of colour, just to brighten up the skin tone, or perhaps even while travelling.
Sometimes, we don’t want to put on a face full of makeup. We just want some light coverage, and we want to look a tiny bit more pulled together. A tinted lip balm has its uses, as I’ve learnt over the years.
When I use tinted lip balm
When travelling – it protects your lips from the elements or the cold and dry air, and a tint of colour always makes a person look better. Helps you be more camera ready too!
On weekends or off-days – As much as I enjoy wearing makeup, I also enjoy NOT wearing makeup. A hint of colour and shine on lips however, does help a person look a little more alive.
When wearing minimal makeup – Minimal makeup is a thing for me these days, and sometimes, a bolder lip colour can look a bit jarring. So, I go with a soft tint of colour, just to perk up the complexion.
The color is literally barely there on the skin. On lips, all it does is enhance your lip colour a little, with a thin veil of a hint of colour. The most noticeable shade is naturally, Red. Pink barely shows on my lips, and Coral simply gives me a tint of warmth.
In fact, from the 3 above, you could likely see a slight difference between the Red and Pink. You may also see how light of a tint it is, yet how it just seems to unifies the lip colour, and pulls together a barely there makeup look. Yes, there is some some makeup going on haha! 😀
If you have pigmented lips therefore, all you may see is a shine, and enjoy the nourishing benefits of the lip balm. You may then find it a waste of time.
If your lips aren’t so pigmented, you may notice a more prominent tint of colour. Ultimately, it is about managing your expectations, and knowing what you enjoy 🙂
Lips are nourished and conditioned without a waxy feeling
What I enjoy the most is the non-waxy feel of the balm. It feels like I’ve drenched my lips in a nourishing, moisturizing oil without an oily feel.
It feels lovely, and I am enjoying it as much as I am my other tinted lip balm products.

However, there is a small fly in the ointment, that is that the Cle de Peau Beaute Lip Glorifier is lightly fragranced.
The Pink smells of roses, Coral has a sweet honey scent, and Red has a sweet rose-mint scent.
It isn’t very strong, and it isn’t unpleasant, but it is there, and I personally prefer my lip products to be unscented. For this reason, as much as I enjoy using these Lip Glorifiers, I do recommend you also consider the Dior Lip Glow, Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint, and also the Chanel Healthy Glow Lip Balm, all of which I love 🙂
IN A NUTSHELL
The Cle de Peau Beaute Lip Glorifier is a conditioning lip balm with a sheer tint of colour. It comes in a packaging much like a lipstick, and has a soft pink, slim packaging that is easy on the eye. The metal packaging is very tactile, and does not look amiss in a fancy handbag. The tint is very sheer so do manage your expectations. It is supposed to be just a hint of colour, and it does serve its purpose. As a lip balm, it is not waxy or heavy and feels lovely and moisturizing with the botanical oils it contains. It also softens slightly dry, chapped lips quite comfortably and leaves lips feeling soft and nourished. A lovely product but scented so do note!

Do you use tinted lip balm? Have you tried the CdP Lip Glorifier?
I’ve been using tinted lip balm a lot lately. It’s partly due to the hot weather and partly due to laziness because I’m bare-faced a lot these days, and a tint of colour on lips is about all I can handle some days LOL! 😀

I’ve been dying to try these! I love the Chanel Intense and Intense warm best. I also love the Bobbi Brown bare raspberry. You should try Olio E Osso. They feel a little heavier , but sheer. I’m a tinted lip balm junkie. Would you say the red is more on the berry side?
