Chanel releases Boy de Chanel makeup and boy! Am I in love with its aesthetics!

While I don’t usually talk about press releases of upcoming products (I’m never sure if anyone is really interested – if you are, tell me!), one just dropped into my mailbox that I was so intrigued by, I had to share it, because I’m curious about what you might think of this upcoming makeup release too!

I invite you to feast your eyes on this gloriously aesthetically pleasing range of makeup by Chanel. It is the Boy de Chanel makeup collection, and I am positively smitten by it! I mean, look at that beautiful matte finish, that eye-pleasing midnight blue shade that is so understated, yet so eye-catching.

For once, the boys have it better than the girls, I swear!

Did I say “boys”? 😀

It feels like years since I was in Japan, when it was in fact, just about 3 months ago. But I’m slowly working through the products I bought while I was there, and I wanted to share one of my favourites – the Excel Powder & Pencil Eyebrow EX. Like many Japanese brands, the name tells you everything and nothing all at once.

I bought this one purely on a whim. I think I might have come across it somewhere online, but I went to Japan without having much of a list in mind. However, when I was in a random pharmacy (or drugstore), I came across an Excel makeup stand, and I remembered that the brand does receive some raves. I also vaguely remembered mention of the eyebrow pencil somewhere. So I picked one up.

It wasn’t until I got back to the room, unpacked my purchases to see what I’d bought, that I realised just how unique it was. Ok, it isn’t earth-shattering as other brands carry it too, but it was unique by me, because I’d never tried it before – a brow pencil, with a powder.

Hello peeps! I’m back with my nose to the blogging grindstone, and as happens as this time of year, we are going to be inundated with Christmas selections! So, whether you like it or not, you’re going to read about them, so better now than never eh?

I swear Christmas releases are launched earlier and earlier every year. Soon, we’ll literally see Christmas in July! (I’m old-fashioned. Most people call the year-end collections the “Holidays collections” but I call them the Christmas collections) I’ll kick off with Dior – because I must confess, I am quite enamoured with this year’s collection!

I have been quite critical of Dior collections of late, and if I’m to be honest, Dior was starting to get predictable. We expect a gold eyeshadow palette, and we expect to be inundated with sparkly golden offerings and red accents. It’s what Dior has been doing every year for many years. but this year, I have to say, that the Dior Precious Rocks Christmas 2017 collection really perked me up.

I have a small selection from the collection to show you, and I’ll break them down briefly for you below. There is one (maybe two) item in the collection that I am very taken with, that I think is absolutely worth checking out. I’ll tell you which it is (although you can hazard a guess and tell me later if you guessed right! 😉 )

It is easy to get caught up in the hoopla surrounding new releases and limited edition collections, that we often overlook items in the permanent range that we might use everyday. I wanted to highlight these 2 relatively new products that have just been released by Chanel, but which are permanent. I don’t see them get a lot of love, and I really wanted to tell you about them, because they are such good products!

Both these products are permanent, but they are so underrated. They both relate to the eyes, and I’ve been wearing both of them very often. They certainly deserve much more love and attention than they’re getting!

The first is the Signature de Chanel Eyeliner Pen, which is a brush-tipped ink eyeliner, that comes in just one colour – black. The other is the Chanel Stylo Sourcils Waterproof Defining Longwear Eyebrow Pencil which comes in about 6 colours, if I’m not mistaken. By way of a spoiler, that eyebrow pencil has trumped my other faves that come in a similar design 😀
