Clarins and L’Occitane reminds us that its not just about YOU!

December 11, 2010 Paris B 11 Comments

Hola Ladies!

How are you spending your Saturday? Its just 2 weekends to go before Christmas so I’m sure those of you who haven’t done your shopping must be in a tizz! I don’t celebrate it in the religious sense but for the general goodwill to mankind sense. I’m feeling a bit slothlike to take the tree out of storage though. So I might skip on the tree this year… unless I get a sudden surge of Christmas spirit later or something 😛

l'occitane planner 2011

But you know what, during the week, I had a bit of epiphany when I did a random act of kindness for a stranger, and it was a bit of a kick to the butt. So, I’m here to remind you, just as Clarins and L’Occitane are, that its not always about YOU i.e. ME.

Sometimes, we have to spare a thought for the less fortunate, and not just at this time of year when goodwill to all mankind surges. But there’s no better time to start.

Both Clarins and L’Occitane have on-going campaigns for the less fortunate that you could contribute towards if you are so mindful. Maybe pick them up as a stocking filler – they are both quite inexpensive.

L’Occitane En Provence Diary/Planner 2011 – RM15

loccitane diary 2011

Much cheaper than a moleskine although less portable due to size and heft. Still, if you need to take lots of notes, it has lots of space for note-taking and reminders. Also, there is a monthly tabbed calender for your appointments at one glance.

I’m trying hard to stay more organized in 2011 so this one will come in handy.

Proceeds will go towards the Malaysia Association of the Blind, as part of the L’Occitane Foundation’s goals towards helping the visually impaired. I’m told that total funds raised from the sales of the diary will be used to upgrade the computer and screen reader software facilities in the MAB library to further empower the visually-impaired with knowledge and information. I think thats very noble and if you wish to do your bit, the 2011 diary/planner is available for RM15 each at L’Occitane stores.

Clarins We Care Charity for Children’s Homes food container – RM18

If you are planning to save some money and pack lunches to work, pick up a Clarins We Care lunchbox at RM18 each. If its not for yourself, but for your child, you will not only pack him/her a healthy snack but do your bit for charity too. The homes that will benefit are Shepard’s Centre Foundation (Semenyih, Selangor), Persatuan Kebajikan Yesuvian Mahligai and Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa (Kajang, Selangor) Available at Clarins counters and Skin Spa centers nationwide.

I’m not going to tell you that buying either item will guarantee you a place in Heaven (it doesn’t if not done with proper intent) and buying up multiple units will not either, so don’t be caught up in the frenzy to buy more if its not going to be used. That’s doing things in excess, wasting money and to top it all off, doesn’t gain you a place in Heaven either 😛

But if you do have a need for either a diary/planner or a lunch box, or if you need a stocking stuffer, you could do much much worse 🙂

Enough of my preaching 😛 Enjoy the weekend! 😀

What’s with the lack of Christmas spirit and cheer this year? I’m not setting up my tree this year either …. “no mood” =(

But this are great suggestions. Had trouble thinking of what to get two girls – one just hitting her teens and one still in primary school. Getting one of each of the featured stuff for them!

Aww… I’m not of the religion I guess hence the lack of will on my part 🙂 I only used to set up a tree because it looks pretty 😀 I’m glad these suggestions helped you. The planner would be so useful for the teen because she could use it as her diary too – there’s enough space. Unless of course she already has a blog 😛

Both are those are gorgeous and practical- I’m sure anybody would be happy to receive them and appreciate the help that buying these are giving others.

psst! You and me both! Every year I dig out a planner and try to use it and every year I fail. This year will be different! (so she says) 😛
