Where can I get a quick facial/spa in Singapore?

May 31, 2010 Paris B 10 Comments

Calling readers from Singapore!

I know you’re out there! 🙂

Do you have a place you’d recommend for a facial or spa in Singapore? I would likely be down by Orchard Road waiting for my shopping buddies and I expect I’d be tired so I thought a facial will give me an excuse to have a snooze 😉 Somewhere around Orchard would be ideal.

I might be game to try something new like an organic facial or oxygen facial but nothing too expensive (you would know best how “expensive” is considered expensive :))

So, if you have recommendations, do please leave a comment. I’ll need some recs in the next couple of days so I can make my reservation before I go down 🙂

Thanks!!

Quick review: Lancome Virtuose Precious Cells mascara

May 31, 2010 Paris B 22 Comments

Lancome Virtuose Precious Cells brush

I already told you about the Lancome Virtuose Precious Cells mascara before. Its a new mascara by Lancome that cares for your lashes and helps them grow with constant use. There was also a trade in offer where you could trade in an old mascara for a sample of this new one – did you participate in that? 🙂

Anyway, I already told you my initial thoughts on the Virtuose Precious Cells mascara then so this is just a quick review to show you some pictures.

Rootote at Isetan and the disaster that is the Chanel Classic Flap Bag for Spring Summer 2010

May 30, 2010 Paris B 26 Comments

Yesterday evening saw me in KLCC jostling with the weekend shopping crowds. Don’t ask what possessed me to indulge in something so mindblowingly dumb but it was done. I did manage to get a parking spot quite easily and picked up some nice groceries so it wasn’t all bad. Oh, and I also indulged in a bit of bag window-shopping. Hey I had to let off stress someway or another! 😉

First, Rootote. Remember those tote bags that everyone got so excited over back in 2008? Are you still carrying yours? I am and I have even purchased more since then 🙂 I like how roomy and practical they are and I carry my first Rootote to work everyday now – it carries the bulky stuff and frees up my handbag so I don’t turn into the Hunchback of Notre Dame 🙂

Well, I spotted a Rootote stand at Isetan KLCC! There was a fairly large selection with many different designs and shapes available and they had the Roototes and the Rooshopper bags. I took quick trot around the stand and from my quick survey, the designs on offer are quite different from those carried by Tiny Tapir. Pricing is a little higher too. Couldn’t get better pics coz the SA was shooting me very suspicious looks 😛

The other thing of note that I saw lies on the other end of the price spectrum – Chanel.

I was stunned by what I saw in the window of the local Chanel boutique. My poor eyes have not seen anything so utterly fugly for a long long time. Sorry Chanel, this isn’t one of your best. I’ve got some stock photos below for a better representation.

Saturday Surfing around for Bargains

May 29, 2010 Paris B 10 Comments

Yesterday was Wesak Day here – a holy day for Buddhists, and a holiday for the rest of the country so with many people away for the long weekend, I’m keeping this one short 🙂 Its a good time to take a look at what my beauty blogging sisters have been on about in May 2010.

  • Oui Mademoiselle from Chanel Rouge Coco is so calling to me! – RedLusciousLips
  • Do the Neutrogena Wave! Sure looks like fun – Lipglosseater
  • This girl gives a new meaning to “pink eye” 😛 – SkinDeco
  • Someone who thinks Crabtree & Evelyn’s Citron Honey & Coriander hand therapy is da bomb! – Soloverly
  • I don’t think I’d ever get my scalp or hair checked out but Pretty Beautiful did! – PrettyBeautiful

I know the Great Singapore Sale is now on in Singapore (duh!) and I’ll be there next week to get my share of the bargains (I hope) but here in Malaysia, sales are hotting up too!
