A while ago, I told you about the launch of Hypnose Precious Cells, the new Lancome mascara that had a waiting list at Harrods, London when it was launched there. I also showed you the ad featuring new Lancome celebrity sign up Julia Roberts and the Hypnose Precious Cells mascara.
Sadly, I was told we do not get Hypnose Precious Cells here in Malaysia. Instead, we get Virtuose Precious Cells because I’m told ladies in Asia prefer something that lengthens their usually short lashes.
If you fall in the category of preferring a lengthening mascara, you’d be happy to know that the new Lancome Virtuose Precious mascara is now in town!

The “precious cells” in the name is derived from the “Absolue Precious Cells” skincare range and refer to stem cells. What Virtuose Precious Cells mascara does is not only add length, it protects your lashes and helps lashes regenerate themselves. What does this potentially add up to? Longer lashes!
Imagine if you will, a mascara with in built lash serum that not only protects lashes but encourages growth. So theoretically, if you wear this mascara more, you can hope for “naturally” longer lashes. Theoretically.
Anyway, you could actually try this for yourself. I’ll have the details on how you can get it for “free” below. I tested this quickly once as you can see above.
Naturally, after just one use, I can’t tell you if my lashes grew any longer (psst! Answer is no 😛 ) but I can tell you that my lashes with and without Lancome Virtuose Precious Cells drew comment.

When I had the Virtuose Precious Cells mascara on, a friend commented that my eyes were looking particularly nice that day. All I had on was Lancome’s Ombre Absolue Erika F eyeshadow. When I asked what it was that looked nice, the answer came back “Your lashes! They look so long!”
Next day, I had no Virtuose Precious Cells to put on so it was back to my mascara du jour and same friend said that my lashes were looking non existent and that my eye makeup looked better the previous day. Friends! I tell you – if they can’t tell you the bitter truth, who else can? 😛
Anyway, this is but a short introduction to the new Lancome Virtuose Precious Cells mascara. I will have a proper review for you soon once I get down to using it 🙂
In the meantime, why not try the Virtuose Precious Cells mascara for yourself for free? Here’s how:-
Bring any old/used mascara worth RM65 and above to any Lancome counter from May 1, 2010 and exchange it for a mini Virtuose Precious Cells mascara while stocks last. You can also visit the promo booth at MidValley Megamall on May 3-9, 2010 for this exchange. Go here for more info.
I know you are wondering about the price of this new mascara. I’m sorry but I cannot recall the price. It retails at RM93. It could be RM95 but don’t quote me on it! If you do know, please leave a comment!
So, don’t forget to go home tonight and pick out your old dried out mascara for exchange with a brand new one. New lamps for old! 😛 Perhaps by the time I get round to writing a proper review you could chip in with your thoughts too 😀

oooooh! i have a half dried Dior Iconic mascara! but but…it’s only half dried…..but then again, a chance for a brand new albeit mini lancome mascara is too good to pass up! Thanks so much for the info, Paris!!!
well if you aren’t using that half dried mascara anymore, what better time to get a new (albeit mini) one 😉 Hope the counters don’t get overwhelmed by demands LOL
Oh, man… I more or less lost hope in expensive mascaras and threw out a couple of old ones just two weeks ago! I don’t normally look for lengthening formulas as my lashes are quite long but they are rather sparse (so I need volume!). I still have a tube of Hypnose, which I find okay. I’ve tried the regular Virtuose before but it gave me “spider legs” lashes, which was rather yuck. I wonder if this new formula is any better.
Oh darn! Those old tubes of mascara would have come in handy right about now so you can test the spider leg effect 🙁 I didn’t get the spider leg effect though but then I don’t usually do 🙂
wow i pretty dissappointed that its a Virtuose nit Hypnose… i need volume… :p
Me too! 😛
Oh I ADORE Lancome mascaras, esp Virtuose so I’ll have to try this out myself! Thanks for the info, I too have had lots of comments when I wear Lancome mascaras, they really are the best in my opinion! 😀
My first high end mascara was a Lancome – Flextencils now discontinued. I think its been replaced by Virtuose actually 😀
ok ok I gots dried up mascara! Will find a lancome counter! 😀
I actually own a Virtuose mascara (not Precious Cells) and haven’t had the chance to use it yet, just because there are tubes of other opened mascara waiting to finish. Gosh, but but but.. an exchange for a brand new mini Virtuose Precious Cells??! Ok I’m on it!
Do bear in mind its a mini so don’t go swapping a full size brand new Virtuose for a mini 😉
Yeap got it, I swapped with an old tube of mascara of other brand. 🙂 Thx!
Not sure if this happens to me only but this Virtuose Precious Cell mascara seems to wear down my lashes. I counted 7 lashes came off from my left eyelashes during makeup removal while right eye 1 lash came off which I think because right eyelashes was prep with mascara primer prior to it applying it. Left eyelashes directly apply the mascara without prepping with primer/base.
I haven’t worn mine yet but lashes falling out? eeps! I’ll be sure to report if mine do
Thanks for sharing Paris.
would you doing any review for RIMMEL mascara brand?
You’re welcome and I might if I decide to buy the mascara to try. Been hearing good and not so good things about it. You’ll know when I do try it 🙂
i got it! and it’s really greeat, im definitely gonna buy the real er (real?) one when i finish the mini! thansk again Paris!
Woohoo!! Glad you are liking it! 😀
