Does your skin look better when you are ill?

I hope I’m not the only one thinking that my skin actually looks better when I’m ill as opposed to when I’m well! Whatever blemishes seem to have lightened and its looking pretty smooth.

I reckon its all those white cells doing their job fighting the bacteria and viruses attacking the body. The side effect of the internal war raging in the body is that all those wonderful white cells are also fighting the bacteria on my skin! 🙂 So I’m enjoying the nice smooth skin of the moment sans healthy glow unfortunately.

The down side to being ill of course is that I’m feeling terribly dehydrated and my lips are dry and peeling 🙁 Time to break out the lip balm and to down gallons of water to stay hydrated. I’m trying to keep a runny nose and a sore throat at bay because I have something big to look forward to next week! eeks! Better get well…

Have a great weekend everyone. I’ll be camped out on my couch watching telly and popping vitamin C. At least I know that Vitamin C will help fight the nasty flu bug.

The only time my skin looks better when ill is when I’m on antibiotics! Cos it zaps the zits on my face!
If not on, I never really noticed my skin looking better when ill…hmmm interesting!
Sorry to hear you’re under the weather–take good care and have a good rest this weekend!

Actually, come to think of it, I don’t notice my skin when I’m sick. But I think you’ve started a trend now, PB!

Hope you get well soon! *hugs*

To All: Thanks everyone! I’m feeling a little better but the sore-ish throat and the chills aren’t going away just yet. Be back soon!

Hmm, I saw this documentary on health, actually Vitamin C helps you when you have flu but to actually get the Vitamin C digested you need to drink loads of water and you must know how much you can take. Another alternative is to drink Hot water with Honey and ginger. It helps ease the sorethroat and Ginger makes you sweat and clear your nose. When I have the flu I just make sure I have fresh air and don’t use tissues coz it’s full of dust. Try not to use fan coz it circulates the dust in the room. You can use aircon but with a big tub of water beside your bed as it helps to hidrate the room or if you have a demister but it’s exp.

Ok for everyone who is reading this comment, I’m sharing out my secret for lip balms. I use cocoa butter from Palmer’s. Yes the big tub (250gm). I have very very dry chappy lips although my face is so oily. I hardly sleep with aircon on still I use the cocoa butter every night before I sleep. It lasts the whole night provided you did not kiss your pillows 😛 . You must not buy the cocoa butter on a stick coz it contains alcohol and it will sting your lips. The one in the tub does not contain alcohol. Though the other day I saw a new product from Palmer’s in a shape of a squeezy lip balm packaging but still yet to try coz I do not have the time to go to the pharmacy.

Has anyone tried it? Do share 🙂

Me too, I was just hospitalized yesterday for my body being super “dry”. I got a virus, and I’m on a diuretic which causes me to need more water also. So my intestines were so dry they caused severe cramps when moving things, so I couldn’t drink because I kept throwing up. ANYWAY, I had 3 nurses say wow you have the best skin, and I took a pic of my self before and after hydrating and I’m like wtf. I should just get dehydrated more often.

I always look and looked way cuter when ill (not due to antibiotics which I very rarely use). From my teenage years and now I am almost 36. Sick right now with some stomach bug that doesn’t seem to want to let go and super cute, looking 10 years younger than some other days. A fever could work too. Not just the skin, but the shape of the face and the under eye area are perfection. This is way more noticeable than the change during the cycle for example (slightly cuter leading up to ovulation, slightly more swollen during period). I always thought it weird, since strength, energy and health should equal beauty, right? And I can’t even exercise right now nor get sunlight or fresh air. Even googled it now since it’s so extreme I could not imagine it was just me, and seems it isn’t just me but still not really much informationto find. I would love to hear more about it and know the science behind it. Is the body desperate to attract a partner while still alive and therefore throwing in all the last energy on getting super attractive or what?! Kind of a waste, since the last thing I want to do when ill is go outside or meet anyone, and I do want hugs from my husband but that’s about it (so definitely no new babies made tonight). So what ever is the point?? Still, so cute.. it’s good to at least feel comforted when throwing a glance in the mirror when the body feels this crappy.

The pup & I celebrating birthdays within weeks of The pup & I celebrating birthdays within weeks of each other 😁 Kiddo turns 4 and celebrated with specially made doggy burgers & fries.

I got him in early Jan 2020 so he’s only been with me less than 4 years but it’s been incredible to see how he’s grown (or not), and how he’s slowly mellowed with age (or not!). He’s still that crazy rambunctious puppy who terrorises other dogs, begging them to play and barking at them when they don’t. He’s a greedy fella who makes me think I’m the greatest chef in the world (in the dog world maybe!) and he still gets crazy eyes when excited.

But I’ve also found more white hair around his eyes and he sleeps in more and later now. He doesn’t even get up early enough to jump onto the bed as he used to 😔

4 years is practically adulthood in doggy years and I’m thankful that we have the opportunity to spend lots of time together even if I bemoan having to bring him everywhere I go.

Happy 4 years boy ❤️

This explains my lack of updates generally. Been very busy preparing for this, and amazingly enough, moving operations again! It’s a long sucky story but it might have just turned out for the best for us so as they say about windows opening and closing, sometimes you just have to go with the flow and look for the open window when doors close.
