Grab a Rootote today!
I was first enamoured by Roototes when I saw them on Karen Cheng. Then Tine wrote about how much she loved her Roototes and I knew I had to check them out.

Both Karen and Tine gave links to the Rootote store in Australia which ships to Malaysia for a flat rate of AU$12. Not too expensive if you can find a few friends to combine your order. I was doing just this, when I discovered that Roototes can be purchased right here in Malaysia too! There’s More! Continue reading →
My first Paul & Joe Cosmetics!
This morning, I was raring to hit a luxury sale in town that was supposed to feature brands like Coach (!!) and Jimmy Choo shoes (!!!!) at up to 70% off. However, when I got to the venue at 10am, the line was so long I estimated it would take me at least 1 hour waiting time just to get into the hotel ballroom where the sale was at. So, I ditched it. Yep, walked out of the line after wasting 10 minutes of my life time
Instead, I headed off to Isetan at Lot 10 where I knew a Paul & Joe Cosmetics sale was on. And boy! Was I rewarded! It was quiet and I had all the time and space to browse in and chat to the sales people without grabbing or pushing - bliss!! This is what I picked up. There’s More! Continue reading →
Idle minds are the Devil’s workshop
Or how to empty your wallet when faced with a site outage
First of all, my apologies to everyone who tried to access my site and found it no longer existed. There was a problem with the server which my host worked hard to rectify and I think its all alright now. Some comments earlier may have disappeared (and a post or two did too) so I duly apologise. That was due to a server migration and I can’t retrieve them. So, thank you for your patience and to those who dropped me emails to find out what was happening, thank you too for your concern!
With my site down the whole of yesterday, I was left to my devices picking up on work slack but hey, there is only so much boring work to do before I ended up surfing around. Being itchy fingered I ended up picking these up online:-

They are Givenchy Prisme Again! blush/highlighter in Crazy Pink (US$25) and Clarins blush in Rose Petal (US$15) both picked up at 50% off from StrawberryNET.com where the offers are on-going for a limited time. Both are brands I’ve never tried nor ever thought of trying so I’ll be quite interested to see how they fare. There’s More! Continue reading →
Where to shop for makeup in Hong Kong?
If you go to Hong Kong, by just looking at the proliferation of cosmetics stores, you’d think every woman there is made up to the nines. Its not quite true. But the women in Hong Kong do take more trouble with their appearance or so I find. When I go to the business areas of Hong Kong, I see the women executives made up carefully in light colours and dressed well. Even on a weekend, the girls of Hong Kong are well dressed in their casual outfits and with casual light makeup on.
While we are seeing more of this in Malaysia, I do still think women in Malaysia don’t take as much trouble especially working women. All that said, beauty and cosmetics is a HUGE industry in Hong Kong and the stores are there to prove it, and not to mention even advertising the latest Autumn 2008 collection on a tram!

Here are the places I like to visit in Hong Kong for my beauty and cosmetics fix:- There’s More! Continue reading →
