MWS Weekend Poll No. 9 : Flutter those falsies at the Shu Uemura Tokyo Lash Bar

July 9, 2011 Paris B 26 Comments

Happy Saturday Ladies!

I attended the Shu Uemura Tokyo Lash Bar event during the week – an annual event where Shu Uemura showcases their newest avant garde false eye lashes for the year. Its usually limited edition and very exclusive. Last year’s collection was all about the future and was all bling and shiny. This year, Shu Uemura went down to earth with a tribal theme – Ethnocolor Scope.

Clockwise from top: Green Folklore, Ethnic Charm, Tribal Patch and Oriental Arch

I found this year’s collection much more attractive compared to the shiny metallic mess of last year’s. I think its all that colour that grabs me. I love colour! 😀 I can’t necessarily wear these (who can?) but they sure are pretty to look at.

1. Do you wear false lashes?

Very very rarely. I don’t quite like the extra weight on my lids and I have an immortal fear of it dropping or becoming unglued while I’m in the middle of dinner or an event! *gasp*

2. Do you know how to wear false lashes?

Nope. I tried once or twice but I find it too much hassle. If I really have an event or dinner I need to wear falsies to, I’d have them put on by professionals.

3. What have you planned for this Saturday?

I cleared my weekend with the intention of staying home and having some me time. I feel like I haven’t had a weekend to myself in ages – there’s always something going on. But this weekend, I’m staying home, doing some decluttering of the house and possibly clearing out part of my stash.

4. Do you enjoy cooking?

I do! I don’t enjoy baking as much, perhaps because I’m not into eating sweet stuff. But I do enjoy cooking and playing with recipes. I seem to find myself being better at Western cooking than Asian cooking but I’m working on the latter 🙂

5. Your biggest life achievement to date?

I just dropped off my check to the bank to pay off my housing loan! I am now a proud homeowner of my very own bit of brick and mortar after lots of savings and careful budgeting; and already I hear rumblings of a housewarming party to organize LOL 😉

Your turn, should you so wish 🙂

And for your viewing pleasure, I leave you the interpretations of the different looks by the Shu Uemura makeup artists, using the Shu Uemura Tokyo Lash Bar Ethnocolor Scope lashes. Gotta give them full props for creativity!

    Do you wear false lashes?
Yes, sometimes. Usually only during events 🙂 I prefer half-lashes compared to full ones though. The single ones seem to take forever to put on lol

Do you know how to wear false lashes?
    I’m okay at it?

What have you planned for this Saturday?
Nothing. Pretty much gonna do the same things as you, clean up the house a bit, maybe some reading?

    Do you enjoy cooking?
Nooo! It always feels as though it takes forever to prepare the food and it only takes 10 minutes for it all to disappear! lol XD I’m better at cooking Western food compared to Asian food (Chinese food especially) *fail* I prefer baking because the food stays around longer? 😛 Baking can also involve savoury things! Think about things like chicken pies and quiches!

Your biggest life achievement to date?
Getting into University? I’m starting next week! Noooooooo!

Do you know how to wear false lashes?
I think I know… so far the number of times I've tried putting the lashies on, it turned out to be fine… but then again, every time when i wanna wear it for outings, it is more time consuming than usual… X(

What have you planned for this Saturday?
Stay at home and get my mountain of assignments done! boohoo~ X(

    Do you enjoy cooking?
yes! In fact its one of my dream to have a big kitchen in my future house! =D

Your biggest life achievement to date?
Achievement… hhhmm… being able to make lemonade from the lemon given by life… hehe… 😀

Yay for cooking! One my the main criteria when looking for a place to live was the kitchen. I can’t stand small pokey little kitchens where you don’t have space to move around. So I need a nice sized one 😀 And yay for lemonade – a bit of sugar makes it easier to handle the sourness eh? 😉

Making it to Uni in a course you want is a pretty good achievement if I don’t say so myself 😉 At least with fried rice you won’t go hungry! 😉

    Do you wear false lashes?
    – Very very rarely, unless it’s a really formal dinner, e.g. my University prom 😛 I don’t even wear them for wedding dinners haha. And even when I did, it was put on for me.

Do you know how to wear false lashes?
    – Um, no, not really. I tried and found them quite troublesome. Plus, my natural lashes are pretty long and thick already (Thankfully) so a good eyelash curler and mascara already does the trick well enough 😛

What have you planned for this Saturday?
    – I’m just going to stay at home, perhaps do a little cleaning, catch up on rest and we’ll see how the rest of the day goes 🙂

    Do you enjoy cooking?
    – Actually yes, though I’m better at cooking Western and Japanese food compared to Chinese food 🙁

Your biggest life achievement to date?
    – I’d say graduating University, for now (And I’m not even working yet), but I plan to take my Masters degree which will begin sometime next year.

Congrats on graduating Uni! Seriously. So many of you are so young, I’m now feeling ancient 😛 I find Chinese food tricky because of the heat we need in the wok and the freshness of ingredients. I do steam food quite well though LOL!

Jealous lah that you have long lashes 😛 I find it easier to cook western food. I’m not sure why 😛 But I’m working to change that. And I don’t think you were ever an idiot – maybe naive? (not that I know that you’re talking about but we’re all a little naive when young 🙂 )
