Finally! The Breakdown of What is in that Epic Cosmetics Travel Kit!

June 6, 2012 Paris B 72 Comments

A while ago, I showed you a birds eye view of the epically large cosmetics kit that I packed ostensibly for travel. Firstly, I’d just like to say that if I were truly travelling for work or even for a holiday, I never pack a kit this massive. My travel cosmetics kits fit in 1 pouch and usually look something like this.

This time however, I was headed home for my brother’s wedding and I knew I had to look good so I could not risk a breakout or reactions to new products, and I also knew that I’d be sharing all sorts of stuff with my sister who had warned me that she wasn’t packing anything so could I just bring extra? Ah yes, sisters 🙂

So I packed full sizes of almost everything and packed exact products of skincare I had been using at the time. The bag turned out to be extremely large and probably weighed about 5kg 😛 I could be exaggerating, I’m not sure. But here’s what went in there.

Wake Up To A Floral Bouquet With the Melvita Bouquet Floral Clarifying Foam Face Wash

April 19, 2012 Paris B 26 Comments

Do you like using foaming cleansers? I love them. I derive great satisfaction from squeezing the nozzle and seeing a big dollop of foam in the palm of my hand 😀 Please tell me I’m not alone LOL!

The latest one I’ve been using (and almost finishing up) is this Clarifying Foam from French Organic brand Melvita. This is a face wash formulated for normal-combination skin and contains Narcissus extract to clarify and brighten the skin.

The thing about these foaming cleanser which I discovered after using quite a few, is that some of them can be a little drying on the skin. I don’t know if its the formulation or if the foaming factor but with prolonged use, my skin sometimes feels a bit dry. Not this one however, thank goodness!

Wear flowers in your hair and spritz Melvita Floral Water on your skin for a refreshing soothing treat

February 23, 2012 Paris B 37 Comments

I used to read a lot about floral waters in cosmetics, in particular rosewater and lavender water. It has been used in cosmetics for a very long time to freshen and soothe the skin and is quite possibly the origins of what we now know as toner 🙂 I’d never really tried them until I came across the ones from the French organic brand Melvita.

Can I just say up front that I absolutely love the impractical heavy deep blue glass bottle packaging? I love it! Its heavy and if you are the klutzy sort, you could quite easily let it slip through your fingers and have it smash on the floor. But I love it nonetheless because it lends an old world charm to my skincare routine.

Plus, the waters are a really very nice treat for the skin 🙂

Store Visit: Melvita Organic Skincare at KLCC and New Naturalift Skincare range

December 13, 2011 Paris B 19 Comments

I previously told you about this new EcoCert certified organic French brand coming into Malaysia and I mentioned that the Melvita store was opening in KLCC. Well I finally had a chance to visit 🙂

melvita store klcc

The store is located in the new annexe part of KLCC next to the brand spanking new Isetan supermarket (don’t you love that supermarket? I do! They price things higher now, so I feel a bit like a pauper in there, but I like wandering the aisles – that’s free 😛 ) and opposite Uniqlo KLCC. You can’t miss the green entrance, which I’m told, is a signature colour of all Melvita stores – gingko leaf green I’m told.

When I was first introduced to the brand, I only knew about the facial products and beauty oils. Little did I know just how comprehensive the products Melvita has for the whole body and for the whole family down to the little ones!
