Beauty Scenario Vol. 2 : Cheat Day skincare for lazy skincare routines

August 3, 2015 Paris B 38 Comments

Ok, hands up whoever has faced this problem of laziness before. Picture this.

You come home late from either a long day at work, or a party, or a meeting, or you just feel lazy that evening as you stare at your skincare arsenal, thinking of the multiple steps you have ahead of you. All that spritzing, massaging, lotions, potions…. When all you want to do is to just shower and get into bed and let Mr. Sandman do his job.

What do you do?

Do you drag yourself up, tell yourself that you can’t afford to be lazy, and go through your whole skincare routine? Do you think “Oh sod all this!” and just crawl into bed and hope for the best?

What will YOU do in this beauty scenario?

Save & Splurge: Coming up Roses – The Rose Floral Water Facial Mists Edition

September 24, 2014 Paris B 27 Comments

I’m not the world’s biggest fan of rose scents but I cannot deny that the delicate scent of fresh rose blooms uplifts the spirit and makes me feel girly and happy. Rose water is also popular for use as a face mist, to hydrate skin, set makeup or just refresh yourself when it’s hot.

I happen to be quite a fan of the Melvita Damask Rose Floral Water of which I’ve already gone through about 2 bottles thus far, from the days when it came in a lovely glass bottle, till it’s current packaging in a plastic bottle. I like how soothing and comfortable it is on my skin and I use it primarily as a post-cleanse facial treat.

But you know what? As lovely as it is, I found it pricey. I recently tried a new brand on a bit of a whim and to my surprise, I like it, and it’s very kind to my wallet. So here we have it – a Save and Splurge post for rose floral waters. I haven’t done one of these for a long time have I? 😀

New to facial oils? Try the Melvita Pulpe de Rose Plumping Radiance Duo for a nice and easy introduction

September 18, 2014 Paris B 22 Comments

I have a bit of a confession. I don’t actually like blogging about something when the hype is still in the air. You know that moment when everyone’s going on about that latest product/colour/style? Which does make me a bit of a PR nightmare because I don’t play by the rules a lot, unless I’m really excited about something. Maybe pay me and we’ll talk deadlines LOL! But when it comes to skincare, I have a strict rule. Don’t bug me till I’ve had a good go at the product. Just don’t.

Which explains why I’ve been sitting on this for about 4 months now. I stumbled on the Melvita Pulpe de Rose Plumping Radiance Duo while browsing online and I was generously sent a bottle to try to see if I’d like it. It became available back in June or July along with a few other products that I haven’t seen but having had about 2 months to incorporate it into my routine, I figured, it’s time to tell you about this product and yes, I like it 🙂

Melvita celebrates 30 years (and I learn to cook a fancy French meal while learning of an organic sunscreen)

August 24, 2013 Paris B 17 Comments

Melvita might be a brand we have only been familiar with for the past 2 years, so it was quite surprising to learn that they actually celebrate their 30th Anniversary this year! The brand started in 1983 and is now a leading Ecocert certified organic skincare brand in France and I have seen growing interest in many parts of the world, even locally. I think the idea of certified organic skincare has captured the imagination of many. You will be seeing the illustration at most Melvita stores worldwide, featuring Belle and the Bee, the bee being the core of the brand, as the founder Bernard Chevilliat is a beekeeper!

To celebrate this, Melvita Malaysia invited some members of the press to an organic cooking lesson at Nathalie’s Gourmet Studio, a French restaurant that also offers cooking lessons. Mmm… cooking lessons! I had to make time for this one 🙂

It was also there that I found out that Melvita carries an organic sunscreen with SPF50! Ahhh!! That was the most exciting part of the day for me LOL! I’ll tell you a little more about it, and some of the bestsellers from the brand 😀
