I previously told you about this new EcoCert certified organic French brand coming into Malaysia and I mentioned that the Melvita store was opening in KLCC. Well I finally had a chance to visit 🙂
The store is located in the new annexe part of KLCC next to the brand spanking new Isetan supermarket (don’t you love that supermarket? I do! They price things higher now, so I feel a bit like a pauper in there, but I like wandering the aisles – that’s free 😛 ) and opposite Uniqlo KLCC. You can’t miss the green entrance, which I’m told, is a signature colour of all Melvita stores – gingko leaf green I’m told.
When I was first introduced to the brand, I only knew about the facial products and beauty oils. Little did I know just how comprehensive the products Melvita has for the whole body and for the whole family down to the little ones!
Melvita is a certified organic brand so those who are into organic skincare will find it very heartening to know that you can be organic from head to toe using their products.
There is a good list of what they do not contain, and I thought it interesting to note they have “no silicone”. So if you have a sensitivity to silicone in skincare, hey! You now have an option to turn to! I must say however, that prices of the products surprised me.
They aren’t as pricey as I thought they would be!
Granted, it is still pricier than something out of a pharmacy, but its more affordable than something from a department store, and affordable for certified organic skincare. I was interested in the bath and body products though – I love my bath and body stuff – but I did find the pricing a little high for those. That said, pricing is quite a personal thing and I am a little more willing to splurge on my face than on my body 🙂
If you aren’t sure about splashing out on the whole prodct range, try the starter kit going at RM130. You get a taster of the products and see if they suit your skin. I like that they offer a starter kit because sometimes, we just never know if a product will work and when it doesn’t, we waste money buying the full sized one. Or we are afraid to try because of the “what if”.
An interesting point to note in the Melvita store is the “Green wall” by the cashier. Those plants you see on the wall are real plants! So the air in the store feels and smells naturally fresh 🙂 There is a good range of floral waters (I’m going to rave at you about this soon) and beauty oils at relatively affordable prices so if you want to try something different for your skin, this is a good place to start to pick up beauty oils – avocado, rosehip, argan oil etc.
And new for January is an anti-aging range called Naturalift. Ok so they don’t like calling it anti-aging so its called the Youthful range, to keep you looking youthful 🙂 The prices in this range will be higher than the regular ranges (as per usual for anti-aging skincare), but the results promise to be better too. Key ingredients are oligo peptides extracted from Hibiscus seeds, blended with Alpine Buddleia and Wild Beech Buds and it is meant for hydration, firming and lifting the skin. Based on the samples I tested on my hand, they are all non greasy, and feel lovely on the skin and are formulated for all skintypes.
Did I hear a groan rise up from all of you when I mentioned KLCC? Did you think “Oh gawd! The traffic there KILLS ME!” Well you’re not alone. I have refused to go anywhere remotely near that part of town because of the absolutely horrendous traffic. So, if 1 Utama is more your kind of place, you’d be pleased to know that the Melvita 1 Utama store is now open 🙂
I do want to tell you about the Lavender Floral Water and I hope to do that really soon. If you have been cracking your head thinking of what to get for a gift for someone that is a little different, I do suggest that you take a look at the Melvita floral waters. They aren’t terribly pricey, last a long time, work a treat and make good gifts – I know I wouldn’t mind receiving one 🙂
Have you been to either Melvita store yet? Have you purchased anything or have you tried anything from the range you’d like to share quick thoughts on?

I’ve heard a lot of great things about Melvita but haven’t tried anything yet.
I’m thinking its even more affordable in Europe – the floral waters are a nice thing to try 🙂
Dropped by the 1U outlet last Saturday and came home with a bag full of organic goodness 🙂 Items purchased include the micellar toner, witch hazel floral water, BioExcellence eye cream, 2 travel sets & dinky little bottles of extraordinary water.
Micellar toner is a wonderful French invention for cleansing sensitive skins, plus I love the Hamamelis floral water for a quick, refreshing pick-me-up!
Looking forward to exploring the rest of Melvita’s wonderful range 😉
Ooh thanks for sharing YZ! I’m told the extraordinary water is really good stuff but I can’t seem to get my head around it 😛 The floral water is very nice though 😀
Their face scrub is good, I can’t remember if its pink clay or white
LOL I’ll have to check this and double check the colour of the clay! 😉
i bought the moisturizer ( forgot whats it call) it was ok not bad and i feel safe using it because it’s organic, ahahaa
LOL glad you liked what you got 🙂
I’ll be going to KL on the last week of the year. Hope to visit KLCC!
Oh do! There’s loads to check out there – I hope you enjoy your trip!
Oooo i saw this in KLCC on Saturday but didnt dare pop in coz I thought they’d be pricey. Not that I know they are not, will drop by the next time I”m there 🙂
I know that feeling 😉 But they aren’t super pricey, well not for organic skincare at any rate. The beauty oils are quite a good deal at just over RM100+ for 50ml bottles and they have baby care stuff too! 😉
I love Melvita 😛 Been at the KLCC store since they opened and am considered a “regular” because the salespeople there recognise me already (Oops?). Same goes with the 1U outlet- some of the salespeople from KLCC transferred over so they also recognised me 😛 The stuff really isn’t as pricey as I’d expected so it’s a good thing 🙂
Am loving their Apicosma Moisturising Cream, Calendula Oil, Bio-Excellence Eye Contour Gel and Fondant Body Balm!
Awesome! They should have some sort of loyalty system for you 😉 Great to know you’ve found products that work well. I’m mostly looking at the oils. Oils are generally pricey so to find oils that are affordable from a relatively reputable source is heaven sent! 😀
Oh the products sound really nice…how come we don’t have this here? I wish they’ll bring the range in.
I’m sure it’ll just be a matter of time before they head to Singapore, and I’m sure you’d be one of the first to know when they do! 😉
i bought the orange blossom floral water and narcissus extraordinary water. i use orange blossom as a soak up mask and my skin is more radiant instantly! love these babes!
owh btw melvita is under the same company as l’occitane. but with a friendlier price tag!
Actually they aren’t under the same company as anyone 🙂 it just so happens that locally, the people who bring in Melvita also bring in Clarins and L’Occitane hence the confusion 😉
