Unlike many people who discovered or rediscovered their love for fragrance during the pandemic lockdowns, I did not. Most of my fragrances sat around gathering dust (literally) and I had all but forgone wearing any fragrance for a long long time.

Recently however, I have been out and about a little more for social events, which means that a little spritz of fragrance is necessary, or risk raising social ire 😛

One scent I’ve taken to again recently is the Jo Malone Mimosa & Cardamom cologne.

I shared some time last year some thoughts on fragrances and how your preferences might change over the years, as your preferences and lifestyle changes. Mine has.

But there’s one scent that I discovered via a sample a little while ago, and fell in love with, that I still love today.

That scent is the Jo Malone Amber & Lavender cologne.

When I shared it on Instagram, a few people asked me how it smelled, and I realised then, that I had not shared about it on the blog. It helps when I do, because I can then direct people to read about it haha! 😛

I met with some friends for the first time in months, and over lunch, we mused over what a blur the first half of the year has been. I said that as far as I’m concerned, 4 months of 2020 are a write-off.

We’ve entered August 2020, and I’m still struggling to figure out what I’ve been doing from March to June! LOL! I have been busy, that much I know.

Now that July 2020 is past, I’m looking back to see how the month has been, and to pick out 5 of the high spots of the month.

With most of life going back to normal for many of us this past month, I’m sure you too are seeing bright spots in your months so feel free to share with me too! 😀

There was a time when I’d shy away from light, floral scents. I used to head straight for the strong, heady, spicy notes – the stronger, the better!

But then, my lifestyle changed, and so did my preference for scent.

I would have turned my nose up at a light floral scent like the Jo Malone Osmanthus Blossom Cologne in the past. But today, I tell myself “Give it a try. Everything deserves to be tried once!”

And really, when it comes to perfumes, that’s what you must do – give it a try 🙂
