Insta-Updates: Random makeup in my bag

August 10, 2012 Paris B 31 Comments

This morning before I flew out the door, I rooted about in my bag to see what was adding to all that bulk and weight. And all these spilled out. Oops!

random makeup

Hmm… its no wonder my bag was getting weighed down! In there were some random purchases I made over the past couple of weeks (yes WEEKS!) and also a couple of items I collected from makeup mule friends 🙂

Pretty in Pink : Will you Pink of me as I am Pink-ing of you?

February 14, 2012 Paris B 27 Comments

I pulled out a couple of things recently to use and was very amused to find them all in varying shades of pink! What better time to showcase them as a group than today – the day of everything pink and pretty and fuzzy and wuzzy 😀

butter london primrose hill picnic, dior rose porcelain, benefit hervana, face of australia malibu barbie

How fitting that they can go on the face and on nails 😀 I’ve got some close ups below and you can tell me which ones you want to see reviewed asap and I’ll do my very best to oblige. They do fit very well together don’t they? 🙂

30 Days of Lip Colours Project: Did You Miss Any Or Have A Favourite?

August 30, 2011 Paris B 26 Comments

Before I go on, Happy Eid-ul Fitr / Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri to all Muslim readers! 😀 Enjoy your celebrations and the inevitable feasts 😀 I hope everyone else is enjoying the festive break wherever you are.

Ah, 4 months after I said I’d do a 30 Days of lip colours project, I’ve finally completed it. Yay for me 😛 Instead of boring everyone by going at it straight for 30 days as I did before, I opted to take it slow this time. Clearly, taking it slow means dragging it out but I’m glad I did, because in between, new lippies came into the picture which allowed me to showcase them (and give me an excuse to use them).

So by way of a round up, here are all 30 lip colours which include lipsticks and lip glosses. I will be on a break tomorrow (I’m presently away on vacation actually) but please come back in September. I have something terribly exciting lined up on the blog and I’m bursting to share the news. But it’ll have to wait till I get back 😉

Now, onto the 30 day project – did you miss any and do you have a favourite out of the 30 lip colours featured? Here are all 30 featured lip colours for your viewing pleasure.

Day 1-5 of 30 lipsticks

Day 1 – Burberry Lip Cover Lipstick in Delicate Rose No. 22

Day 2 – Rouge Dior Haute Color No. 880 Devilish Pink

Day 3 – Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Antigone No. 60

Day 4 – Mentholatum LipIce Water Colour in No. 03 Kissy Pink

Day 5 – Dior Addict No. 681 Icone

Just Sampling: Benefit b.right Radiant Skincare Foamingly Clean Facial Wash, Triple Performing Facial Emulsion and Its Potent! Eye Cream

July 7, 2011 Paris B 16 Comments

Benefit Cosmetics fans would have noticed this new display at the Benefit Cosmetics’ counter. You would also have read all the rumblings internationally about the launch of the new Benefit b.right Radiant skincare which is Benefit’s first skincare line. Its been available here for about a month so far.

Do you want a dimmer switch on radiant skin? I wouldn’t! Let it shine baybeh! 😀

Anyway, I was offered some little samples of 3 products to try which I did over the course of a week or so and I will quickly have my thoughts on them below. Before that however, I must confess to really liking the faux cork look of the caps used in the packaging. It looks so olde worlde and harkens back to a time when cosmetics probably did come in bottles and tubs stoppered with cork.

I will however, have to note that the packaging of some of the products, although very lovely and whimsical, just like the makeup, tends to be a little impractical. The primary impracticality is with the lotions which come in lovely bottles. The problem however is that the lotions are a not liquid like the cleanser so it is quite a pain to get it out of the bottle in a proper amount for use each time. The sample bottles were mini versions of the full sizes so perhaps the small opening might have something to do with it. But I always prefer a squeeze tube or pump dispenser for lotions. It allows you dispense the right amount and there is less wastage. [Update: Apparently full size bottles come with a pump hence this rant maybe for naught]

Now we’ve gotten that out of the way, let me tell you quickly what I think about the Foamingly Clean Facial Wash, Triple Performing Facial Emulsion SPF15 and Its Potent! Eye Cream.
