30 Days of Lip Colours Project: Did You Miss Any Or Have A Favourite?

August 30, 2011 Paris B 26 Comments

Before I go on, Happy Eid-ul Fitr / Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri to all Muslim readers! 😀 Enjoy your celebrations and the inevitable feasts 😀 I hope everyone else is enjoying the festive break wherever you are.

Ah, 4 months after I said I’d do a 30 Days of lip colours project, I’ve finally completed it. Yay for me 😛 Instead of boring everyone by going at it straight for 30 days as I did before, I opted to take it slow this time. Clearly, taking it slow means dragging it out but I’m glad I did, because in between, new lippies came into the picture which allowed me to showcase them (and give me an excuse to use them).

So by way of a round up, here are all 30 lip colours which include lipsticks and lip glosses. I will be on a break tomorrow (I’m presently away on vacation actually) but please come back in September. I have something terribly exciting lined up on the blog and I’m bursting to share the news. But it’ll have to wait till I get back 😉

Now, onto the 30 day project – did you miss any and do you have a favourite out of the 30 lip colours featured? Here are all 30 featured lip colours for your viewing pleasure.

Day 1-5 of 30 lipsticks

Day 1 – Burberry Lip Cover Lipstick in Delicate Rose No. 22

Day 2 – Rouge Dior Haute Color No. 880 Devilish Pink

Day 3 – Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Antigone No. 60

Day 4 – Mentholatum LipIce Water Colour in No. 03 Kissy Pink

Day 5 – Dior Addict No. 681 Icone

Day 6-7 of 30

Day 6 – Maybelline Watershine Pure Diamonds No. 304

Day 7 – Shiseido Shimmering Rouge No. 308 Iron Maiden

Day 8 – L’Oreal Glam Shine 6H lipgloss Strawberry Mix

Day 9 – Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipgloss Star Ruby Sparkle

Day 10 – Eyeko Liptastik Glossy Pen in Hot Lips – hot fuchsia!

day 11-15 lipsticks

Day 11 – Revlon Colorburst in Peach

Day 12 – Clarins Joli Rouge in No. 729 Terra Red

Day 13 – Guerlain Rouge Automatique No. 164 Chamade

Day 14 – Dior Serum de Rouge No. 730 Corail Serum

Day 15 – Hourglass Extreme Sheen High Shine Lipgloss in Nectar

lipstick 16-20

Day 16 – Shiro Cosmetics Intertubes in Over 9000

Day 17 – Dolce & Gabbana Ultra Shine Lipgloss in Passion

Day 18 – Shiseido Luminizing Lip Gloss in Maraschino RD404

Day 19 – Dior Creme de Gloss in Pink Elixir

Day 20 – Benefit Cosmetics Lipstick in Breakup Rumour

Day 21 – Essence Stay With Me Longlasting Lip Gloss in Berry Me

Day 22 – RMK Lip Crayon

Day 23 – Barry M Lip Lacquer Crayon in Scarlet

Day 24 – Ellis Faas Glazed Lips L303

Day 25 – Etude House Miss Tangerine Lipstick Sweetberry Lips No. 2

Day 26 – Chantecaille Lip Gloss in Guava

Day 27 – YSL Rouge Pur Couture Rouge Vermillion 04

Day 28 – Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Cream Lipstick in Fig

Day 29 – Nars Sheer Lipstick in Gipsy

Day 30 – Le Metier de Beaute Lip Creme in Framboise Creme

Personally, I think I like the reds and the bright colours the most. I attempted to inject more variety this round as opposed to the last round where some readers complained that all swatches were looking the same LOL! This time, I unintentionally started out with lighter shades – peaches, light pinks – and then going on to bright colours like fuchsia before taking on some corals and then rounding off with a whole series of different shades of red lipstick.

Do you have a favourite? Were you inspired to try any one of them at all? 🙂

Oh Paris, you’ve brought out the worst in me!! My favourite of them all is still the Le Metier de Beaute Lip Creme even though the red’s uh, red. Then there’s that Burberry one and the Ellis Faas one…. the list just goes on and on :s All too pretty! Thank you so much for featuring such lovely lippies (and for making my never ending wish list even longer!) 😀

The prettiest to look at is definitely the Burberry one, but I’ll have to say that Le Metier looks absolutely divine on your lips!! 😀

Thanks Jenn 🙂 The Burberry one seems so long ago now LOL but I do like it for its everyday wearability too. The Le Metier one is a little bright for day to day wear

i think the most ‘stunning’ color has to be the Eyeko – hot fuschia!

I agree with xin, I’ll go with the fuschia. However, you did influence me to get a Shiro Cosmetics intertube, heh heh heh.

Ooh I hope you like the colour you got! 😀 The Shiro Intertubes are quite impressive for their price although I still maintain they need to come in a round tube 😛

I do like the soft shades on you, but I agree the bold reds are va-va-voom! Since I’m pretty shy about lip colors, you’ve inspired me to pick up a wearable red!

Please do pick up a red lipstick Peach, I promise you your makeup life will never be the same 😀 I did notice when I visited Japan that girls in Japan prefer a softer lip shade and this is also quite prevalent in most Japanese brand cosmetics.

I love the reds too! Especially Barry M Lip Lacquer Crayon in Scarlet and Le Metier de Beaute Lip Creme in Framboise Creme. I recently acquired Bobbi Browns’ Old Hollywood 2 which is this siren red in the tube and with one application on the lips, but with a lip brush, it becomes a petal pink which gets redder and redder. I use it every day!

Thanks Applegal 😀 I love the idea of a siren red lip colour – will have to check out the Bobbi Brown one. I don’t own a BB lipstick yet! 😀

Hi dear, wearing lipstick has us run the risks of exposing to leads in lipstick. what’s more, when we eat and drink, we are also consuming harmful leads in our body. i think there is some studies that shown some brand have higher leads and i think YSL range is among the top. what is your view on this?

and also the brighter the color, the higher the lead amount..such as berry red, passion red etc.

Hi Audrey. I’ve been reading a lot about this lead in lipstick scare for many years now and Snopes has exposed it as being mostly false. I do believe there are trace elements of most chemicals in many day to day items or food we consume but I also believe that most brands would by now, with heightened consumer awareness, reduce the inclusion of harmful chemicals in large quantities. So, I would be more willing to use a red lipstick from a present collection as opposed to one manufactured back in the 1800s when lead and mercury were popularly included into cosmetics like powders. I personally am not fussed with a lipstick from a reputable brand but I draw the line at unknown brands or fake goods because there is no telling what might be in them. Just my personal view 🙂

Yay for Red Terra! 😀 I’m afraid I haven’t looked for a dupe for this colour anywhere – have you considered just getting it? I sometimes find that it costs more in terms of energy and money to find a dupe than to just purchase the item outright 🙂

I remember when I first tried the #antipodesskinca I remember when I first tried the #antipodesskincare Aura Manuka Honey Mask. It blew my mind away! Soothes skin. Boosts hydration and just makes you feel like you have the best skin ever! Not kidding. If you have a spot or irritated skin, it calms it down and helps get rid of your spots too. Honey is anti bacterial after all, so it’s a great multitasker.
I also love the Manuka Honey Skin brightening Day Cream. It’s light but creamy and sinks into the skin. I’ve reviewed them both on the blog in the past. If you run a search for Antipodes, you’d also notice how much I love the brand! 😁
I’m super late with this but if you’re planning to purchase any of these 3 Manuka honey items from TNS Skinlab, the code MYWSTUFF10 will give you an extra 10% off (until tomorrow 31 Dec) I highly recommend grabbing the Aura mask. You’ll never want to be without (I always have a backup!)
Thanks for the gift @tnsskinlab and I must apologise for my tardiness 😩 I’ll learn to cope better from next week!
