I wanted a classy, fashionable and functional backpack and The Clässy Gaston Luga Backpack fit the bill perfectly

January 24, 2018 Paris B 6 Comments

Some time last year, I was introduced to Gaston Luga – a brand of backpacks that had a sleek Scandinavian design that is currently quite in. It was a canvas backpack that was different from many of the bags I carry, and I found it surprisingly useful. But also rather larger than I expected.

So, when the opportunity arose again to try another one of Gaston Luga backpacks, I picked the Clässy design and you know what? This one’s classy!

For anyone who is looking for a fashionable, yet practical backpack, I’d suggest that you take a look at the Gaston Luga Clässy backpack. As you can see from my modelling shots (ha!) the size is much better suited to my height for day-to-day use, compared to the Classic backpack which I feel better suits travel.

Let me show you a few more pictures, and I actually used this while on my year-end holiday in Bangkok last year, so I can tell you that it’s a travel work-horse too! 🙂

I enjoyed the Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Creamy Mask but convenience always comes at a price!

While the Korean wave in skincare does not seem to be abating any time soon, there are only a few brands, among the hundreds out there, that capture my imagination. One of them is Sulwhasoo. I am a die-hard fan of their Overnight Revitalizing Mask, and I’m one of the few people out there who truly enjoys using their Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Cream. This is primarily because I don’t mind the scent of Asian herbal roots and ginseng. I find it soothing.

Last year, I was introduced to a (then) new sheet mask in their range – the Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Creamy Mask. While I do not use sheet masks as often as I do wash-off cream masks, I am not above using them purely for convenience. And the idea of all that lovely Sulwhasoo ginseng goodness in a luxurious sheet mask caught my imagination.

Let me first say that this one’s definitely catered for those with more matured skin – skin that needs moisture, firming and radiance. For younger skins, you won’t see the benefits, and really, it won’t be worth spending your money till you’re older. Being in the target age-group for this range, I was naturally intrigued! But when I tried it, there was something else that impressed me – the fit!

If you have trouble sleeping as I do, here are 3 Tips for better sleep when you travel

September 4, 2017 Paris B 18 Comments

We’ve had a very long weekend here in Malaysia the past 4 days, with an additional surprise holiday today, and that’s been boon and bane for many. I returned from my holiday back in my hometown yesterday, and was caught in horrendous traffic along the highway, so I hope no one else is!

As someone with problems falling asleep, travel has always been a hard nut to crack for me. On the one hand, I love travelling. On the other, bedtime in a different room or bed or environment, has always been a bit of a problem, because I have trouble falling asleep. I know I’m not alone!

Here are a few suggestions I have for people who have similar issues, having tried and tested various methods over the years. I’d be happy to know of others, because I’m always on the lookout for anything that helps me go to sleep better, and wake up more rested.

Hej! Will this Classic Gaston Luga Backpack suit your lifestyle as it does mine?

August 25, 2017 Paris B 14 Comments

I have, what seems like a lifetime choice of bags in my bag closet, and yet, the one style I’ve been gravitating towards in recent times, is the backpack. I’d sclep around in a casual outfit, toting my things in one of two backpacks I own. So, when Gaston Luga said “Hej!” all the way from Stockholm, Sweden and asked if I might like to try out their new range of backpacks, I said “Tack så mycket!“ (“Thank you very much!” in Swedish – No I don’t speak Swedish. My limit of Swedish ends at “Ikea” LOL)

Gaston Luga is a new Swedish brand specialising in backpacks with canvas and leather bodies. The minimalistic designs sit well with the current trend of minimalism and the clean, simple lines of Scandinavian design. They have a few different ranges, but I picked one in the classic range, in the very practical Black on Black colour – black leather accessories on black canvas.

There is a reason I picked this design, which I’ll tell you about, and I’ll also show you what fits in my Gaston Luga Classic Backpack, and if you’re interested in it, I also have a discount code! 😀
