This Holiday season, let your festive finery be bedecked with Les Ornaments de Chanel

November 25, 2019 Paris B 5 Comments

I’d been looking forward to Chanel’s 2019 Holiday makeup collection for a while. Ever since I saw teaser images of the collection a few months ago, I’d been enamoured.

Happily, I was not disappointed with the actual product! 😀

The key item that had me eagerly awaiting the Les Ornaments de Chanel collection was the eyeshadow quad. There was something about the intricate embossing of the pattern that reminded me of the buttons on Chanel’s iconic tweed jackets.

I was generously gifted a selection of products from the Les Ornaments de Chanel collection so I’ll tell you what I think is worth the splurge (and what you could skip over 😉 )

Your Say: What are your inflight beauty essentials?

May 22, 2015 Paris B 34 Comments

Ok those of you who travel, or rather, fly around a lot, do you have any inflight beauty essentials? You know those beauty items that you make sure you have with you in the cabin, no matter what?

I usually carry my whole toiletries kit on board the plane actually. I just make sure that everything in there is 100ml or under and I’m good. Never been stopped yet for lugging a cosmetics kit heavier than my luggage! Ok… not that dramatic, but close.

inflight essentials

While most of the time, my cosmetics kit ends up in the overhead compartment (weight and bulk y’know), there are some things I usually ensure I have with me in my seat so I can use them throughout my flight, long or short.

I’m sure you have your essential items too, that you don’t like to fly without so do share what yours are 😀

Your Say: Do you regularly go for manicure and pedicure treatments and enjoy them?

September 9, 2014 Paris B 40 Comments

I’ve said often that nail polish isn’t a forte nor interest of mine. It seems somewhat sacrilegious to admit this especially when it seems like every one who owns a beauty blog or who are in the beauty industry sports perfectly polished and buffed tips in person and in photos, and I discreetly hide my plain nails when I’m in such company.

Quite often, most people have perfected the art of painting their nails by themselves and for this, you have a myriad of tools to hand, including quick drying top coats or quick drying oils, both of which are lifesavers for the impatient (moi!) but more often also, I know of many women who would rather just get it professionally done at a nail salon.

enjoy pedicute manicure

I know too that going to a nail salon is supposed to be a fun, girly afternoon activity but you know what? I don’t enjoy it and I never have. I don’t know if that doesn’t make me very girly or if it makes me odd (you’re going to have to tell me if I am!) but it’s a case of been there, done that, bought the T-shirt and didn’t enjoy it one bit.

Do you enjoy going for manicures and/or pedicures and is it something you enjoy? Please feel free to say yes (or no) because you know how it is here at Casa MWS, no one judges (nope, not even if you don’t shower in the mornings!) 😀

Don’t sit and watch (nail) paint dry, the Sephora Express Drying Oil dries polish in just 1 minute!

April 17, 2014 Paris B 32 Comments

I don’t usually mess about with my nails but I recently came across a very interesting product (to me) that prompted me to dig out my long forgotten nail polishes again. They’d been so long forgotten I’d forgotten where I put them all LOL! Yes, I’m hopeless with nails.

But when I mess about with my nails, I want it to be quick. I don’t want to sit around for ages like a tai-tai waving my hands in the air or blowing on them to make them dry more quickly. Previously, I’d use Seche Vite but then I was introduced to this interesting product from Sephora.

sephora express drying oil

The product is the Sephora brand Express Drying Oil and it’s supposed to be a product for quickly drying your nail polish. In 1 minute, they claim. Yes, colour me intrigued!

I’ve never tried something like this before, other than Seche Vite, have you?

They just launched the new NCEF Night Mask, an ultra-regenerating sleeping mask that promises to rejuvenate tired skin in just 7 nights! Well That sounds right up my alley! 😮‍💨
I highly recommend the Meso Mask as well for a rejuvenating, hydrating and smoothing boost to the skin. Its a good brand, that I’ve tried in the past and I’m glad we now have it here! 😊

Popped out of my hermitage to visit the amazing Jo Popped out of my hermitage to visit the amazing Jo Malone installation at Mid Valley Megamall 😍 Jo Malone has always made gifting an experience, both for giver and receiver, and this is what their Jobots are here for - to help you find that perfect gift whether for a friend, family, or for yourself each time you manage to dodge the C-bullet 😆
Go check out the Jobots at Mid Valley Megamall Centre Court & experience their signature hand and arm massages, gift boxing, personalised engraving of your perfume bottles & candle jars & play with the vending machine. You could get lucky!
No prizes for guessing which Jobot installation was my favourite! The one with the dog of course! They also had a key chain with a dog. So. Bloody. Cute!!
And after so many years finally got a photo with event organizer extraordinaire @cyrus.chin because we didn’t get the white & beige memo and came instead in (unplanned) matching sunny coral instead 😂
It felt good to have makeup on, dress up and go out for a tiny little bit, and meet people I haven’t seen in literally years! Also to enjoy the scents (hard to smell with a mask on though) and the visual delights. Go check it out. They’re there at the Centre Court until Sunday 3 July.

✨HELLO✨ Not everyday I wear something decent ✨HELLO✨
Not everyday I wear something decent (I still live in crummy t-shirt, shorts & sweaty athleisure most days) so it merited a photo! 😆
I put on a full face of makeup today and when it came to my eyeshadow, I had a brain fart moment and forgot where they were! 😂 Looked through 3 drawers before I saw them and even then I thought “Did I ever have THIS MANY?!” I guess I do. And before you ask, yes they’re all expired 🫢
