Unlike many people who discovered or rediscovered their love for fragrance during the pandemic lockdowns, I did not. Most of my fragrances sat around gathering dust (literally) and I had all but forgone wearing any fragrance for a long long time.

Recently however, I have been out and about a little more for social events, which means that a little spritz of fragrance is necessary, or risk raising social ire 😛

One scent I’ve taken to again recently is the Jo Malone Mimosa & Cardamom cologne.

I think the beauty market is ripe for something new and exciting, and Chanel’s No. 1 range hopes to be that ‘something’. It’s a little capsule collection sitting within the greater Chanel beauty collection, and I’d shared a little overview earlier.

One of the items that caught my eye was the No. 1 de Chanel L’Eau Rouge fragrance mist. It’s been a while since I’ve come across a new scent from Chanel, so it was interesting to see what they would come up with.

As it turns out, the L’Eau Rouge is quite easily, one of my favourite items from the No. 1 de Chanel collection! 😀

A new product range from any brand always gets me a little excited. This more so, when it’s from a big luxury brand in the market like Chanel. Most luxury brands are a little more set in their ways, and a little slower to change, so when No. 1 de Chanel was launched, in a rather low-key manner in early 2022, like a whisper through the world of beauty, I was intrigued.

No. 1 de Chanel is a rather compact range for now, with a focus on the skin, in the form of skincare and minimal makeup, and scent – what Chanel is well-known for. I’d be curious to see if it expands further! 🙂

I was fortunate to be given a little insight into some products in the No. 1 de Chanel range. However, if you’re curious about the skincare products in the range, and whether they are something you might like, keep reading – I might make it worth your while 😉

Beauty hors d’oeuvres: Natura Kaiak Oceano Fragrance – cleaning up the oceans makes scents!

One of the first things I was told about Brazilian brand Natura, when I was first introduced to it, was that they are proud of their fragrance range. Apparently, Brazilians love fragrance! And being a Brazilian brand, Natura embraced that love, and developed a range of affordable fragrances that you can purchase at their store and online.

A recent addition to this extensive fragrance range is the Natura Kaiak Oceano fragrance. I broke my self-imposed isolation to go to the store to have a look, because despite advances in technology, we still can’t smell through our computer or mobile screens.

I used to be quite partial towards oceanic scents when younger. There was something about the clean, slightly salty tang of oceanic fragrances that attracted me. I was curious to see if the Natura Kaiak Oceano fragrance might remind me of that 😀
