Best sunscreen in the market? We take the Blue Lizard Sensitive Mineral Sunscreen SPF50+ for a test

Many years ago, I came across mention of the Blue Lizard sunscreen. It is an Australian brand, and it was touted as one of the best in the market for sun protection. Hey! I’m always looking for the best sunscreen in the market!

Australian-made sunscreens are usually very good. Their regulation is very strict when it comes to SPF, so I have always placed a lot of faith in their sun protection products.

It was however, not easy to source outside of Australia, so over time, I forgot about it. Then, one day while browsing iHerb, I noticed that they had the Blue Lizard sunscreen! So, into my basket it went. The irony of buying an Australian sunscreen from the USA and having it shipped to Malaysia, but there you go! 😀

Naturally, having waited so long to try it, I had to know if it was the best sunscreen in the market!

Just Sampling: Biologique Recherche VIP O2 Creme – worth the mystique?

I was clearing out my stash and culling old, expired products and sample packs of skincare, when I chanced upon some recent samples of the Biologique Recherche VIP 02 Creme. I don’t usually enjoy testing samples, unless they are generously sized, and these were, in adorable little pots.

Lest you consider me a snob (Yes, I am), the reason is simply because I like to know how well a product will work for me, and 1-2 uses do not cut it. Granted, this will be useful for testing for reactions, but it’s impossible to figure out just how good (or bad) a product is for your skin with just a few uses.

I scored 2 little tubs of the cream, so this gave me almost 3 weeks to try and evaluate, and to decide if it was worth the splurge 🙂

In the past, when I first started having some interest in skincare, I came across a quote by someone that said “Spend on what you leave on and save on what you wash off” It was something of that ilk.

Essentially, the idea was that when we were balancing our budget for skincare, we should spend more on products like serums and creams, to get the best possible quality since we were leaving it on our skin; and we could save on a product like cleansers, because we’d just be washing them off.

I thought it made sense, so it was something I practised for a while. I’d buy cleansers from the pharmacy, and I’d not consider spending too much money on them. Something that was foamy and cleaned my skin was sufficient, never mind what special ingredients might be in it, because I was going to wash it off anyway.

Much later, I realised that I was wrong about this.

Hold up! This Medik8 C-Tetra Serum might be the only Vitamin C serum you need!

I came across many raves for the Medik8 C-Tetra serum, where people who had tried it swore up and down that this was THE Vitamin C serum they’d be using from now on.

I got curious, because I love me a good Vitamin C serum, but I always had one in rotation, so it took me quite a while before I got around to picking up a bottle and trying it.

I have to say though, that it has been impressive! 🙂
