With the attention I give the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine, my other lipsticks are feeling envious

May 26, 2014 Paris B 30 Comments

Those of you who have been following my Instagram would have been waiting for this review that I teased you with last week hehe… I am as usual, late to the party since the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine lipsticks have been around for almost 2 months now. But as they say, better late than never! After all, it’s a permanent item so there’s no LE rush *whew!*

On a side note, I’m starting to move away from LE products. I’ll expound on my theory in a separate post but am just throwing the idea out there because I’ve been so consistently disappointed lately, I’m planning to just stick with the tried and true permanent items with few exceptions. Now that’s off my chest, let’s talk lipstick! 😀

Estee Lauder has a new lipstick range! After I had given it a good ol’ rave on IG, I was made to realise that Asia gets a whole different range of Pure Color Envy Sculpting lipsticks! What’s this obsession with segregating the world into Asia exclusive and non-Asia exclusives eh? 😛

That aside, the one we get is the Pure Color Envy SHINE Sculpting Lipstick which is supposed to have a lighter, sheerer formula with a shine, as compared to the regular range available in the rest of the world. Not having seen the other one I will reserve comment, but I will tell you that I FREAKING LOVE THESE!

Ahem, yes I’ll get a grip of myself now 😛

Just Sampling: Kate Somerville Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment

May 23, 2014 Paris B 26 Comments

Call me a kid but I love things with punny names and when I first came across the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate a while ago, I couldn’t stifle a giggle. Ah punny product names – gotta love them! 😀

It turns out that what I didn’t realise, punny names aside, the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment is quite a popular product!

I recently got a sample of it, and I thought it would be good to give a go and see what the hype was about. This being a sample, and one of my “Just Sampling” review series, I won’t do into much depth – just some quick thoughts and views on the product and how I felt about it.

Sachajuan Hair Repair : A bit o’ Swede TLC for my stressed tresses

May 22, 2014 Paris B 14 Comments

I guess you could say that I’ve been quite blessed when it comes to my crowning glory, because it needs very little maintenance. Keeping it short means I don’t have to worry about dry ends and keeping it its natural colour means I don’t have to worry about my hair being damaged with colouring chemicals. It’s not to say I haven’t experimented. I’ve been there, done that and am now just happier au naturel.

So when I first used the Sachajuan Hair Repair the first few months, I wasn’t sure what I should be making of it.

Sachajuan is a brand of Swedish professional hair care that’s new to our local market and is distributed by Kens Apothecary so you’ll find it at their stores and perhaps some very selected hair dressers. I had this for quite a while without really noticing much benefit to my hair when using it other than softer hair, so I was quite ambivalent about it. It’s been months since I was sent this and every time I wanted to write about it, I couldn’t get past the initial idea that it was just OK.

However, a recent experience quite sold me on this and I have to say that it does do what it promises – repair hair that needs repair 🙂

Your Say: Do you use hotel toiletries or do you prefer to bring your own?

May 20, 2014 Paris B 71 Comments

I love travelling for leisure, but I haven’t had the chance to indulge this year. Still, the occasional work trip has served to fulfil that tiny bit of wanderlust in my soul. And one of the fun things about travelling is hotel stays. Ok, I can’t possibly be the only one out there who secretly (or not so secretly) enjoys staying in a hotel? 😀

Where else can you have a lovely plush bed, full air-conditioning, watch TV while in bed, a lush bathroom, lots of clean towels, and be allowed to create a mess knowing you don’t have to clean up? erm… oops! 😉

I was away for an overnight work trip a few days ago and while I was in the bathroom, a curious question struck me.

use hotel toiletries

You know how hotels always provide little compact bottles of shampoo, conditioner, bath/shower gel etc? Do you use them? Or do you bring your own?
