My Women Stuff presents “The Bobbi Brown Masterclass – Back to Basics”

February 19, 2014 Paris B

Hi everyone!

Ok, I have been teasing you with the Save the Date mentions on Facebook and Twitter for a while but today, you get to know what is happening on 8 March 2014!

MWS turns 7 this year in March and I wanted to do something different. I wanted to give the chance to some of you to experience some of the fun I experience as a blogger, and one of the fun things is a makeup workshop to learn about makeup!

mws bobbi brown event

Just for MWS readers, Bobbi Brown Malaysia will be running a Masterclass for Back to Basics makeup lessons where 8 very lucky readers will be able to attend the event, and learn some basics of skincare, makeup and foundation. I sat down with the people from BB and told them that a short course on the basics would be very helpful because learning about skin and foundation is of course the foundation of good makeup right? 🙂

Due to space constraints, we only have space for 8 of you 🙁 So if the date, time and topic suits you, take part in the quick contest below and we’ll pick 8 of you lucky ladies to join us on the day 🙂

Details of the #MWSxBB Masterclass event is as below.

mws bb event

If you are certain of joining us on the day, here’s what you have to do:-

Leave a comment below telling us what is 1 thing you wish you knew about foundation.

We’ll pick 8 of you and all winners will be contacted by email and we’d appreciate if you could confirm your attendance quickly, as space is so limited. If you’re active on social media (FB, Twitter, Instagram) use the #MWSxBB hashtag and we’ll be able to find you there 🙂

Some quick things to note:-

  • Deadline to enter is 12noon 23 February 2014 (Sunday)
  • Open to anyone who is able to confirm their attendance at Pavilion KL at 10am on 8 March 2014 (Saturday)
  • 8 Winners will be picked from the entries and all decisions are final.
  • Winners have 48 hours to respond to confirm their attendance or another winner will be picked in their place.
  • General terms and conditions apply

Have fun and I’m looking forward to meeting you on 8 March 2014! 😀

Well…I wish I know which foundation has ingredients that will or will not break me out so that I can wear it without worrying that when I take off my makeup at night my face will have those unsightly bumps!

    Hi Paris
I would like to learn how to apply sheer foundation for daily make up but can cover my acne scars 🙂
    Thank you!!!

Ahh.. the one thing I wish I knew about foundation is how to make it last, last LAST! Just plain old please-stay-to-my-face lasting flawless foundation! 🙂 The answer to it can definitely last me a lifetime! Hehe

Hello Dee. You can always use a primer under foundation, and then a fixing spray after you’ve done all your makeup. 🙂 I find that, even if you use powder foundation, lightly pat translucent powder (or setting powder) over it will help keep it on longer. 😀

I wish to know which foundation can give me a flawless and amazing glowing skin.

I wish I knew how to choose a right foundation and apply on it correctly to just look natural instead of ended up overdoing it.

I’d love to know how to apply foundation without getting patchy and flaky. I do exfoliate well and I keep getting this problem.

One thing I wish I knew about foundation? Choosing the right shade! The right shade can make a girl look uh-mazing, and the wrong shade? Well I’d look like an Oompa Loompa!
Being a brown girl and looking for foundation is never an easy task and thats the one thing I wish I could figure out about foundation…

I wish I knew if the foundation would oxidise on my very, very oily skin after a few hours of using it

Nice one, love Bobbi Brown as always. One thing I wish I knew about foundation, how to apply and make it last for a day? I’m having oily combination skin hence I always have problems with it.

I am always excited when it comes to looking at foundations, which I don’t know why. Perhaps it’s because my crave for that baby like skin. I wish to know how to choose foundation shades not only for myself but also people around me, just like how the other MUAs as BB do; without this knowledge, one may end up looking like putting on a mask on her face!

One thing I wish I knew about foundation is how to apply them using the buffing motion when I have uneven skin texture due to acne scarring and also huge pores.Buffing would save me a helluva time rather than stippling and stippling them on. ????

Ooops, sorry about the ending ????.. I accidently pressed them on. Replying from the hp isn’t very friendly. :p

The one thing I wish I knew about foundation is which is the correct shade to choose for my skin: cool, neutral, warm? Also, which foundations provide sheer to medium coverage and how to avoid getting oily / shiny skin with foundations.

    Hi Paris,

I’d love to know how we can use foundation to cover up imperfections, but at the same time look natural; instead of looking like you’ve been layering foundation on your skin.

    Love!

I wish there’s an easier way to choose the foundation that suits me, way too many options out there with too little guidance here…

For someone that have never attend any basic makeup lesson, I wish I knew how to choose the right foundation for my skin and how to achive flawless skin like the one in BB makeup book. 🙂

I wish to know how to apply foundation to make me look natural but without taking too much time. Time constraint has always been the reason why I am still contemplating on wearing foundation or otherwise to work because I always seemed to be in a rush in the morning.
