Quickie Announcement: #PBDownUnder ~ Heading Down Under with Olay

November 10, 2013 Paris B 48 Comments

australia

G’day, Mates!

Early this week, I told you that I’d received some very exciting news during the week that I was on blogging leave and now’s a good time to share it! I was extended an invitation by Olay to join them on a press trip to Sydney, Australia next week! 😀

There is a packed 2 day schedule with another 5 bloggers from neighbouring countries, where I expect we’ll be learning about what new things Olay has in store for us in the coming year and what innovations they have come up with. I’m told we’re meeting with sciencey people, which makes it all rather intimidating. It will be interesting and I will be sharing what I’ve learned once I get back, along with what else is new.

I’m understandably excited because it’s the first time I’ve been invited for something huge like this. I’m also intimidated because we may have to do videos (cringe) and you guys know me, I’m no vlogger. But as my friend told me, accept it as a challenge. Worst come to the worst, I’ll just end up looking dorky but at least I’ll know! Haha… So yeah, dorky videos – expect that in time to come 😛

While I don’t usually announce when I go away, I thought I’d mention it this time, because I wasn’t able to be as prolific as I like to schedule posts for the time I’m away so there may be a break in schedule here and there if I can’t patch it up quickly enough.

Also, I may post some quick, short posts while I’m there (if I work out the technology behind it), just to give you a sneak peek into what’s happening. Incidentally, I don’t use a laptop at all (I know, shock! horror! How quaint! :P) so it may be a little more challenging than I like, but what’s life without some challenges eh? 😉

I’m also taking the opportunity to head down to Melbourne and visit friends living there after the event so I’m really excited about that too, and meeting up with lovely Melbourne bloggers too! 😀

During the Olay event, I will be posting pictures and statuses on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook so you can follow my adventures there too. I may go a little photo crazy on Instagram so you can follow my adventures there if you like (I’m using the #PBDownUnder hashtag on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook) and I’ll update whenever I can but I promise not to pollute your timeline 🙂

If you’re a Sydneysider and would like to say Hi, I’ve got the morning free on 13 November so drop me a line (parisb (at) mywomenstuff.com) if you like. I’ll be down at The Star by Darling Harbour 🙂

Leaving tonight! See ya Down Under, peeps! 😀

Famous last words 😅 Can’t believe how tiny he was last CNY. I could make him do whatever I wanted. Now, he’s got a mind of his own and it’s “no treats, no work!” 🤪
It’s an unusual Chinese New Year this year. It’s the first time since I left home that I did not make an early morning drive home for CNY for the reunion dinner (I always do so to beat traffic). It’s the first time I’m spending CNY in KL. It’s the first time my hair is looking such a mess for CNY 😂
Regardless, we do this not for ourselves but for others so we can have more joyful CNY celebrations to come.
Wishing all of you a Happy, healthy Chinese New Year filled with Ox-picious tidings 🧧 Gong Xi Fa Cai and enjoy the festive break! ❤️

I never appreciated hair mists but the Chanel No. 5 Hair Mist is a nice, light way to enjoy the perfume. Who says you can only spray on your hair? 😬
