Oh hello there, it’s October and that means, giveaway time! Hip hip hooray!
Regulars may have noticed something missing this year from our regular schedule. Yes, we’re missing the MWS Reader’s Choice Awards which I’ve run for 2 years now but couldn’t this year due to various reasons which I won’t bore you with here. Perhaps next year, it’ll make a comeback. Maybe, if I grow an extra arm or two… feel free to volunteer your services.
But what also happens at around this time every year are giveaways 🙂 I don’t run many on my blog, as you will notice. I save them up for special occasions and October is always very special for me. So there’ll be a few giveaways lined up to thank you for sticking by me all this time, despite the lack of giveaways and interactions others have with readers 🙂
I’m not telling you how many there are or when they’ll appear. You’d have to keep your eyes peeled and stay locked into one of our update channels (namely Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) because there maybe some that are just blink and miss! Don’t say I didn’t warn you 😉 This giveaway is hosted by me and sponsored by me so I’ll be giving out some gift packages of various items, all of which will contain at least one personal favourite.
Kicking things off is this Tantalizing Trio which can be worn in all seasons (I take care of both Northern AND Southern hemispheres!) and is therefore, naturally open WORLDWIDE! Hop along, you know you want to.

1. As noted by my fellow Penangites, we are fortunate to have the “problem” of having too many options as answers for this question but I’ll go with our char kuay teow!
2. The reviews that are honest and contains salient points such as ingredient list, price and where it can be purchased from (There is really nothing more annoying about reviews that gush about something and it doesn’t list the price or where to get hold of it). It’s also concise and goes straight to the point which is not something I can say for many other beauty blogs out there. But I do admit that I have a seriously short attention span 😀

Popular food where I live – hawker food! BBQ chicken wings, satay, fried radish cake, Portuguese grill fish, asam laksa……
Why do I return to MWS? Cause I love the way you write and the reviews are honest and detailed. And Ms PB has a great online personality!

1. Hmm.. In Subang, I’d say the popular dish is the best fast food in the world – burgers! Burger Ramly, burger bakar, gourmet burgers – they have it all here.
2. You write really convincing reviews. Like, really.

1 – Not sure what my town is famous for but i’ll go with my favorite but simple fried rice. Love it in all variations.
2 – MWS has always been the first stop for any beauty related reviews for many years now.

2. I love reading your reviews and discussion. Even though sometimes I know the products reviewed aren’t suitable for me, I would still enjoy it because I find it really informative and entertaining. And you do give very honest and helpful opinions!

I’m from KL so there’s tons of popular food! Nasi lemak is the first that pops to my mind! Yumz…
Hmmm…more thorough skincare & makeup reviews? But you’re doing that now anyways..:)

AMPANG has the best Yong Tau Foo in Malaysia. Made with the finest ingredients and lovingly prepared by “aunties” with decades of experience; every bite’s bound to impress and evoke nostalgic childhood memories ^_^
I love your blog because you have a great writing style and you’re frank and honest when it comes to comparisons. Plus you definitely have your pulse on all the current beauty products, trends and styles; which makes it so much easier for me when it comes to decisions on which products to use!

Currently living in Singapore and you find a variety of cuisines here, my local favorite would be Chili Crab with Fried buns
I return to MWS as the products reviewed are varied and from different price range as well and most important is that they are written well and to me they just come across as if Paris is sitting in front of you and talking… Also, since I am a newbie into blogging, the blogging tips were of great help!

I’m an expat living in Argentina, i’m vegetarian and living in Argentina (meat country) there’s no more different options so i basically end in vegan restaurants (a few) or i cook my own food.
My favoerite one is soy meat potato pie 🙂 or sorrentinos (a stuffed pasta with cheese)
They’re very popular in Argentina but i like the “vegetarian version” hehe
I return and i even suscribed on bloglovin cause of the reviews and the tips, i like the way everything is written , perfect and very easy to understand!
Thank you!

It would be nasi lemak in Malaysia. It’s a fragrance rice cooked with coconut milk, served with dried anchovy, egg, cucumber, nut and curried meat piece, and DON’T forget about the supporting actress- fiecely spicy SAMPAL. It would be my all-time favorite.
The “why” I always return to your website is simply because your detailed and informative review on skin care product. I seldom see the biased side of you on some famed product.(Honest review tho!) That’s why I love going to your site! Good day!
p/s please do more on “save and splurge” category!

Hi Paris,
A) I’m from Singapore, and I would say that the local dishes, hainanese chicken rice, laksa, curry fish head are still the best dishes served! Spicy food is what we are best at!
B) your reviews are honest, candid ( bad means bad, regardless of the brand name!) and not sucking up to the a** of cosmetics companies are the reasons why I check into here daily! I can trust u to give a honest review, instead of hard selling us the products just because its a sponsored blog! Not many bloggers have such integrity, sad to say.

I live in Sarawak so the most popular dish that we have is definitely the Laksa Sarawak…. Its so good… So rich and flavourful and salty andeverything good in this world… lol
One of the reasons why I like your blog so much is because you take the time to reply your readers. Most of the beauty bloggers or vloggers that I follow don’t really take the time to reply us. It just makes me feel appreciated. I do understand that if hey were o reply to every single person that it would tae too much time. It’s why I still follllow them. Bu I love you the most! 😀
Also, I like that your reviews are always so detailed. Makes it easy for me to decide whether i want a particular product or not…
So. Yeah. Thank you for taking the time to read this. 😀 <3

I’m from KL and my favourite food has got to be chicken rice, especially the ones with oily rice 🙂
I like the way you write reviews. Simple, straightforward and truthful!

1. Aaloo Chaat..It would not be fair if you miss this finger licking DELHI (India ) street food. The Boiled potatoes are peeled and fried on a gridle and served with the tangy tamarind water to give that zest
2.I love the humour in your posts and your ‘voice’ which I find always comes across and is never dull.

In our house, my kids most popular food are my pancakes. Flour, 3 eggs, milk, vanilla…topped with nutella for my son, and lemon and sugar for my daughter and myself :-). Simple, but yum!
Enjoyed reading your “skincare worth splurging on” article. We’re a family with sensitive skin, and we use La Roche Posay products excellent. Interestingly, I saw a t.v. program recently, where it said that dermatologist themselves use the expensive…petroleum jelly (that’s it, Vaseline!) as the best facecream!

1. It would be the best prawn noodle in Sungai Dua, and some said the best in Penang, Mee Udang Pak Ngah.
2. I can always rely on your reviews as they are honest and no windowdressing. You tell it as it is and that keeps me coming back for more 😀

I’m from the Philippines and it’s halo-halo on really hot and humid days to keep cool 🙂 it’s a popular dessert that’s made of several kinds of boiled sweet beans and fruits with shaved ice and evaporated milk. “halo-halo” literally means “mix” since all the ingredients are to be mixed together in a tall glass or bowl and then enjoyed 🙂
Love reading your blog since it covers a lot of topics from make-up and skincare to tips on blogging and such 🙂 very diverse and fun to read, and yes, bloggers are enablers. Lippie addict that I am, after reading several entries on Dior lippies, I caved and went to the only remaining Dior counter here in Manila (despite the very horrible traffic) last week and got a lippie 🙂 now, I’m saving up to check out the Guerlain counter next 🙂 Dior is amazing by the way, thanks Paris! 🙂

What has made me return over and over again to your blog: your well-rounded reviews, variety of topics, products, services, tips for blogs/writing/beauty….and most of all your balanced way of covering issues about basically everything in general!
(My favourite post of all time from you was your write-up on BB creams btw!)
As for food…..I hail from Shah Alam and am currently in love with coconut shakes! Vanilla ice cream blended with coconut water and bits of young coconut flesh….. *drools*
