New! Crabtree & Evelyn Tarocco Orange, Eucalyptus & Sage collection gives you a zesty kickstart

Have you ever eaten a blood orange? The first time I did, I did not know what it was. The orange pulp quite literally looks like a bloody pulpy mess. But it is SO. GOOD.

Well I just learnt recently that what I know as the “blood orange” is also known as “Tarocco Orange” and this forms the core of a brand new bath and body range from Crabtree & Evelyn. Launched just about a month ago, the Tarocco Orange, Eucalyptus & Sage collection (to give it its full name) gives the Crabtree & Evelyn brand a new zest for life. Quite literally.

This is only the second range with citrus notes from the brand, if I recall correctly. The first was Citron but I didn’t take to that one because it smelt rather like lemon scented dishwashing liquid on my hands. This Tarocco Orange one I can attest, does not smell like you just took a shower in orange cordial. Its not that sweet, yet it retains that zesty, citrus note that wakes you up in the morning and revitalizes your flagging spirits in the evening.

Have you taken a sniff at it yet? Its quite a large, comprehensive collection with a focus on Crabtree & Evelyn’s strengths, their bath and body collection.

One of the things Crabtree & Evelyn is famous for is of course, their hand therapy hand creams. I used to be quite a devout fan of them although I still have a preference for the Gardener’s Hand Therapy which I find the least scented of all. If you prefer something zesty and refreshing though, then you should take a sniff at the new Tarocco Orange Hand Therapy (RM78/100ml).

The scent isn’t too sweet, as it is tempered quite well with the addition of Eucalyptus and Sage, both of which are uplifting and refreshing yet with an earthier, more grounded scent. This tones down the sweetness of the orange and gives it a fresher, more refreshing vibe. In fact, I like the Refreshing Body Mist (RM65/100ml) sprayed not on me but around the room. I know, it sounds utterly decadent, but it refreshes the air in a stuffy room and kills odours like nothing else!

If you take to body lotions then the delicious sounding Tarocco Orange Skin Silkening Body Souffle (RM130/225ml) might be something you may like. Just looking at the words “orange” and “souffle” is making me hungry. I don’t personally go for body creams or lotions since I’m more of a body oil fan, so although the texture is light and it feels lovely on skin, I didn’t take to this one.

The 2 best items, if you ask me (and if you don’t, I’ll tell you anyway!) are the Tarocco Orange Skin Invigorating Bath & Shower Gel (RM65/250ml) and Deep Cleansing Body Scrub (RM95/175g). The zesty citrus scent is a surefire scent to wake you up in the mornings and in the evenings, when you crawl home after a long day at work, its a gentle uplifting scent to lift your mood as you wash away the dust and woes of the day.

I have always had a soft spot for C&E’s shower gels and this one isn’t very sweet yet has that sweet, sharp citrus edge made rounded by the addition of eucalyptus and sage so, as I have said above, you don’t smell like you just stepped out of a vat of orange cordial. It smells rather more like you just took a walk through an orange orchard and stuck some orange blossoms in your hair. Did I mention that it has these wonderful odour-killing properties? Perfect after a sweaty day, I can tell you that!

I think this is a lovely addition to the other more floral scents available in Crabtree & Evelyn. The citrus note works well particularly in our hot weather and if you aren’t the sort for powdery florals then I think you will like the refreshing, rejuvenating scent of Tarocco Orange 🙂

Have you taken a sniff at the collection? Do you have a favourite scent from the Crabtree & Evelyn bath and body ranges?

For the hand creams, I still stick to Gardeners for the plain scent. For the shower, I haven’t found one I love yet. Most of them tend to be a bit too floral for my tastes, but this Tarocco Orange one may change all that 😉

OOO blood orange! I have a glass of blood orange juice every morning. Love it so much more than plain orange, grapefruit, or any combination of citrus fruit!

I’ve tried some Crabtree & Evelyn hand creams in the past, and I think my favorite is the gardener one. Haven’t got anything from the brand for ages, but this line looks promising!

Ahhh you lucky lucky girl, Sunny! Blood oranges are so expensive here so I haven’t had them in ages 🙁 if you like lighter, fresher scents you will like this one. I can tell it’ll be perfect once the weather warms up a little

    Hi Paris!
Crabtree & Evelyn hand creams… 🙂 I prefer La Source the best. I kinda like Lavender & Rosewater too. Maybe I should try Gardeners. Haven’t tried it before. I don’t usually try C&E’s bath shower gels. Oh! I love C&E’s Wisteria EDP!

Quite a fan, eh Rin? 😉 I quite like La Source too. Is nice and refreshing! I was told that Wisteria is one of their most popular scents. I can’t remember if I’ve smelled it but it must be a nice one.

Ooh is there Argan Oil in there? I didn’t know! I found it a bit sweet, not as spicy as their Christmas edition with a similar pomegranate scent.

OMG This is totally right up my alley. I love orange and lemon scented things. But I really need to use up some of my body lotions before I buy more.

Fortunately then, this is a permanent line! 😉 I think it’d be perfect when the weather warms up and you don’t really want anything too heavy.

I love this one – may be a new favourite after they discontinued the Naturals range. It’s such a perfect combination of scents!

Oh I remember the naturals range! I don’t think it did very well. This one is most certainly one of the better ranges. C&E may have struck gold with this one!

Sniff it & love it! It is definitely refreshing! But I got to finished up some of my body care (shower gel/body lotions/hand cream) before I’m allowed to buy any more… 🙁

Quick, be more generous with your shower gels in the shower! Lol I admit I do that when I’m desperate enough to want to finish up something quickly 😛

Bought the shower gel. I find it refreshing yet sharp, re the scent. I usually use it in the evening. Another favorite is Himalayan Blue range. I used up the shower gel within 2 weeks :p

I love oranges especially Blood Oranges. It brings back memories of my “oranges” story. My family still do tease me about it.

Haha and what oranges story is that, Yue Rain? 😛 I wish I could have some blood oranges right now. They are hard to come by and when I do come by them, they are so pricey!

I hardly buy anything from C&E, and the ones I have are gifts. I especially like those that come in a vanity bag. Those bags are very useful… pretty too!

haha…I got the Tarocco Orange Hand Therapy (PS: thanks for enabling K to get it for me! bwahahaha) and it smelt so good I went back to get the shower gel and body mist. Now excuse me while I zone out in the citrus haze… 😛

Good boy, K! 🙂 I love spritzing the body mist in the room. Seriously jazzes it up & kills odors! Hope they make a room spray soon!

Tempted, but I need to declutter first.

I also haven’t spent money there since I found out C&E was owned by a Malaysian company (KL-Kepong) that recently sold it to a HK company as of last year. Random trivia for some of you.

Nothing against the owners mind you, it’s just not for me…?
