You may be seeing these new items from Olay on the pharmacy shelves already. Both are targeted at people with different concerns – wrinkles and whitening. I swear, these are the two biggest concerns amongst ladies in Asia, with the latter probably trumping the former. I personally am a huge fan of hydrating. I find I have less problems when skin is hydrated.
But you know what they say right? You can’t beat gravity and time. Bah! 😛
The first of these new items, the Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Relaxing Cream brought tears of laughter to my eyes when I first came across the name. I’m sorry, I felt the name was a little lame 😛 But a friend recently raved away to me about a new Olay cream she had tried that was really really good for her, and helped smooth out fine lines. I asked her what it was and she sent me a picture – it was this very same one! Suddenly, the name wasn’t so funny if it really works 😛 I trust this friend’s opinion so I’m now raring to give this a go! Have you seen or tried it?
According to the box, this cream is supposed to work immediately to reduce wrinkles and smoothen skin. In 2 weeks, one can expect to have decreased wrinkles and better skin. It supposedly uses optics powders to do this skin smoothing act. I’m not sure what that means. Is it just an illusion? Curiouser and curiouser! Will let you know what I think of it in time to come if I give it a go 🙂
The other new item is under the Olay White Radiance range which is for whitening or brightening or radiance – whatever they are calling it now 🙂 This is the Olay White Radiance CelLucent White Essence Water. This water is supposed to make your skin look brighter and more radiant with just one application. Erm… I’d be quite quite worried if that really happened, to be honest.
This is a watery essence that you use like a toner i.e. after cleansing, before serum and moisturizer. When I read about it working for immediate results, I am a bit skeptical because I don’t like anything that works too miraculously off the bat. However this essence promises to not only inhibit melanin production, but also help treat existing pigmentation and when used in conjunction with the rest of the Olay White Radiance line, could deliver better results.
I tried the Olay White Radiance CelLucent White Essence and Cream a while ago but it broke me out. I gave it to someone else who loves it so really, your mileage will vary as with all skincare. Still, a watery essence sounds right up my alley. I like layering a few light products, instead of slapping on one thick layer. I find it works better for my skin.
Have you already tried either of the new Olay products featured here? If you have, please do share what you think and if you like/dislike it 🙂 As for myself, I think, after my friend’s raves on the Wrinkle Relaxing Cream, I’m going to give that one a go!

I haven’t try any of the new Olay products up there yet. The only Olay products that I’ve tried before is their sheet mask. It was so-so, nothing special but it didn’t broke me out.
Paris B says
I wasn’t impressed with their sheet mask too. Meh to me. My mom loves one of their creams! Regenerist broke me out once before. I hope this doesn’t 🙂

The name itself – Wrinkle Relaxing Cream has really caught my eye! I’ve never used Olay products although my grandmother swears by the brand so I can’t wait to hear what you’ve got to say about the cream so I can get one for Mum and Grandma! =D Have a lovely weekend! xx
Paris B says
Ahem… what does it say about me that you’d get this for your mom and grandma?! 😛
Incidentally, I’ve been using this a few days and while its too early to say anything, its actually quite nice and so far, no breakouts *touchwood* I read the Jubilee weekend got rained out! Did you go and see the barge?
Sukie says
Yikes! I didn’t mean it that way… You’re using it as preventive care but my mum and grandma needs them as they ARE OLD! =D
As for the Jubilee weekend, yes I did go and I saw the Queen!! =D Weather was atrocious though, was soaked to the bone only after the pageant! Oh and I had difficulty in getting home as the Police happily decided they’d close the main entrance to Charing Cross station and we had to enter via a very narrow back lane which wrecked some havoc as there was so many people brandishing brollies and the vertically challenged me kept getting shoved around by impatient and rowdy teenagers. Sigh. But I had a great time, nontheless! 😉
Paris B says
Haha no offence taken 😀 Glad you managed to see the Queen despite the atrocious weather! What fun it must have been!

my mom swears by Olay and she raved about the wrinkle cream to me too! tried it on my laugh line and it broke me out though 🙁 let us know if it works for you!
Paris B says
Maybe you’re just too young for it! 😀 I broke out from Regenerist when I first tried it a few years ago when I was *ahem* younger. I’ve been using this cream a few days and so far *touch wood* no breakouts! 😀

never tried olay before…somehow it gave me a ‘older age group’ impression… the thick texture of its cream just isnt attractive to me haha
Paris B says
I used to be a Total Effects user in my youth 😀 Regenerist broke me out when I was younger, but this cream seems to have been alright for now. Maybe my older skin has just adjusted to it 😛

I am generally sensitive to Olay’s products, so I wouldn’t go and get these. I remember the blue rim Olay Eye Serum, with hyaluronic acid right at the second ingredient. But it didn’t work at all. I finished it without breaking out, but still, it just didn’t work at all.
Paris B says
I used to be a regular user of Total Effects. Used up numerous tubs of it 😀 But Regenerist never worked for me. I wonder if it will now that I’m older 😛

My mom is a big fan of total effect and regenerist,I’ve tried the brightening serum once and that’s the one and only product I try from Olay,I like the light texture and it did brighten my skin!
Paris B says
I was quite a fan of Total Effects back in the day too till I switched away. Keen to see how this Regenerist cream works, since I broke out the last time I tried anything from the range.

It’s funny how countries have different names for the same products! The Olay Wrinkle Relaxing Cream is Wrinkle Revolution Complex in Aus – and I have been using it for over 2 weeks and I love it!! My face is definitely smoother and softer. In fact, I am about to blog about it 😉
Paris B says
Ooh I didn’t realize it had a different name in Australia! Maybe the regulations don’t allow them to say “Wrinkle Relaxing” because its misleading? 😛 I’ve just started trying it myself. Would love to see what you think of it 🙂
Ling says
My review is up today 🙂 And yeah, Wrinkle Revolution Complex is also a stupid name! It’s giving me a complex about my wrinkles!

I’m battling hydration right now too. My old regular moisturizer has berefer formulated, and is breaking me out and drying out my skin like crazy.
While on a mission on searching a new moisturizer, I’m slapping on so much hayaluronic acid on my skin that it’s beyond believe. I’m a firm believer in hydration is the best prevention weapon for most skin aging issue.
My mum tried the previous Olay White Radiance serum and she didn’t fell blown away by it.
Paris B says
I wasn’t keen on the Olay White Radiance serum either. I do hear a lot of good things about the Regenerist line so I’m keen to give this one a go. I broke out from the last attempt to try it, so I hope it doesn’t break me out this time!

Happy Sunday Paris dearie! 😀
Nope. Never tried this brand before though. Wrinkle relaxing cream sounds funny 😛 Does it means the wrinkles will relax by itself after using the cream? 😛 Hope it works though 😉
Paris B says
Hello hello! Yes! Believe it or not, the idea is to relax the wrinkles so they are so zen they go flat LOL! Let’s see how it works eh? 😉

Hi Paris..Silent reader but posted once or twice before 🙂 (Subscribed to you on FB too)
Just wanna share my 2 cents on ORWRC (sorry..used abbrv coz’ quite a ‘mouthful’ to type out..lol). I got out and bought it from Watson’s on Monday after reading the rave reviews on blogs and gosh!! It dried my skin up like anything..it literally sucked dry all moisture from my face..my skin was literally parched (desert like parched! ) and I actually developed a few wrinkle overnight and I’m not exaggerating! I’ve never come across such product which gave me such negative effects in a such a short time. I used it on Monday night and it felt smooth on my skin. I was happy but there were flakes on my skin te next morning. I ignored them and thought I should give it a go and slapped it on and went to work. Throughout the day, my skin felt dry and flaky and went I got home in the evening, I actually developed fine lines below my eyes and a few new wrinkles on my forehead! I do think the product doesn’t suit me and I don’t knowif I’m the odd one out..and I hope I am..but this is the weirdest experience I’ve ever had with a facial product..psst..I’m not that young too, Paris..so I thought I should be using this type of ‘old ladies cream’ and little did I know…haha
Paris B says
Hi Lynda! Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I was really surprised at how your skin reacted to it. I have been trying it out but while I quite like it, I am not in love with it because it feels weird on my skin. I personally feel it might contain too much silicones so my skin feels a bit suffocated. Will try for a week or two more and then report. I hope you found your cream a new home and aren’t using it anymore!

Hi, what age shall you recommend to start using anti aging product?
I am 25 now…
Paris B says
I don’t recommend using age as a guide. Here’s what I think of when to start using anti-aging skincare (link)
yene says
well, thanks, I will just continue to solve what happened on my skin for now 🙂
Might proceed to anti aging if i notice any sign of aging 🙂
thanks for your reply!
