Random Act of Kindness : A simple fuss free way to make the world a better place

random acts of kindness

First off, Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

It is after all the day to express your love for someone and I love all of you, so there! 🙂

Now on with the program 😀

Since its the day for feeling warm and fuzzy, I have a little story here about a random act of kindness I received last week. If you have received a random act of kindness recently, I’d love for you to share so we can all be warm and fuzzy together 😀

Last week, while I was having dinner, there was a promotion at a nearby store where if you took a flyer to the store, you would be entitled to a lucky draw. The lucky draw gifts were quite cute. I ended up drawing an adorable set of sushi erasers.

An elderly Japanese man sitting next to me dining by himself, went to try his luck and ended up with a foldable bag. It was really cute and bright orange and folded up into an orange pouch. He looked bemused for a moment, then slid it over to me and said “Here, for you!”

I was taken aback, but had just enough presence of mind to say thank you. He just smiled, finished up his food and left. The bag came in handy later that evening when I picked up a couple of groceries and his random act of kindness left me with a smile on my face, and a light heart after a tiring work day 🙂

I’m now looking to pass on this random act of kindness. What goes around comes around, and a small gesture can make someone very happy, lift their spirits and just make them feel so good, they pass it on. And that would make the world a much better place to live in, won’t it? 🙂

Have you had a random act of kindness done for you recently? Care to share? It felt good didn’t it? 😀

Awww… Love you long time too! xxx

That was a very sweet thing the elderly man did. I suppose the one random thing some stranger did for me was run to the elevator ahead of me, kept the door open while I struggled with my packages 🙂 Was very sweet of him

I bless anyone who holds the door open for me. I’ve actually had people allow the door to shut in my face! That’s rude and they get my “blessing” too 😛

This little story makes my day despite I’m not the one getting that cute little orange bag. Thanks for sharing. It makes the world seems much brighter instantly…an act of kindness. And a happy valentines day to you and everyone reading this.

That’s very sweet of the man! Kindness is free to give and worth so much more! Funny, I have those sushi erasers as well. They’re from when I was in elementary school O_O when I used to collect erasers in cute shapes. I still keep them all. Happy Valentine’s Day, Paris!

That’s lovely of the gentleman. We don’t see much random acts of kindness nowadays. I haven’t had any yet since I’m home, but this serves as a reminder for me to do my part whenever I’m out 🙂

I’ll be your Valentine today 😀 *hugs*

*hugs* Tine! I hope you had a lovely day, and indeed, we don’t see a lot of random kind acts done anymore and so when it does happen, it blows me away 😀 Go forth and spread your kindness 🙂

I love today’s topic. Random act of kindness is what we should do often. Being kind to strangers can make you feel better too. What you give, you’ll get back in return.
    Anyway,
Happy Valentine’s day Paris! May your life filled with happiness always!

Well, i got around RM40 voucher after a purchase in robinsons and since i was rushing and the deadline to the voucher was 3 more days, i passed it to a woman whom i overheard was buying skincare for her mom (i overheard it when i was at that counter). She was shocked when i passed it to her and told her i’ve already spent so much. So there.

    aww that’s sweet!

I’m reminded of a lot of random kindnesses, but the most recent one was a colleague who went out and got me an aloe vera honey tea drink because I was having a hard day (and because I don’t drink bubble tea). made my day a lot cheerier after that ^.^v

gonna try and pass that kindness on. Happy Valentine’s Day PB! 🙂

Your colleague was sweet to realise you don’t drink bubble tea and get you something that you do drink! Tells you she knows you better than you thought 😉 Yay for random kind acts!

The bag’s so cute! I think most everyone does a RAOK if not daily, then weekly. That funny face to make the baby stop crying, giving your seat to someone else, giving a colleague a pat on the back, pass on the love people!

Indeed! We all have lots of love to give… and its free, costs us nothing and doesn’t make us poorer. I don’t make funny faces at babies though. I never know how >.<

Nice one! Happy Valentines to you and all of your readers! ^ ^

Not sure would this count, sometimes I would pass some vouchers(no purchase needed type that I got from events or workshop) to random ppl(e.g. a shop sales girl).

I bought the sushi eraser at Tokyo Tsujiki market last year, if not mistaken it was 1000 JPY for 3 sets. I kept them in my wardrobe because they are too cute to use…. 🙂

I think that’s nice of you to pass on vouchers. Sometimes I get vouchers or coupons that I can’t use and if I know someone else will enjoy it better, off it goes to them 🙂 The erasers are adorable but like you I don’t think I’d ever be able to bring myself to use it.

I remembered one time feeling tired after a long day at school and a stranger in the elevator asked me if I was okay.

I was touched by the concern and until today I still cannot reciprocate the same kindness. It takes guts to ask someone you don’t know if they’re okay.

I missed the southern gentility where people say good morning and held the door for you.

I loved this story Jue! You are right. Its very hard to ask this of a total stranger because you just never know how they may respond or if they may think you are being too nosy. The thing we don’t realise is that it could just make their day to know someone noticed and cared enough to ask.
