The Face Shop Sheet Masks – Like and Dislike

April 5, 2010 Paris B 33 Comments

When I picked up my Fruit Bowl Hand Cream from The Face Shop, I also picked up 2 sheet masks to try.

  • Save

One was the Herbal Therapy Geranium & Everlasting Mask Sheet. It was meant to awaken dull skin and get a youthful glow back. Promising.

The scent of geranium is very strong. Fortunately, its a scent I like and find relaxing so I enjoyed this mask. The texture of the essence was watery and the mask was well saturated but not dripping. Fit wise, I find that the mask is rather narrow. Its too long for my face but not wide enough to reach all the way to the sides so the bits by my ears were denied the benefits of this mask.

After about 20 minutes, my skin felt soft, cool, hydrated and nice, for want of a better word. I did not get a “youthful glow back” but then I wasn’t expecting it. I followed up with my regular night moisturizer and went to bed happy. I will repurchase this one before the sale ends because it makes me happy and relaxed.

A week later, I tried the other mask I bought – Essential Collagen Mask Sheet. This one professes to hydrate and firm up skin with collagen.

  • Save

The fit of this mask is the same i.e. long so it hangs under my chin but not wide enough so the sides of my face is deprived of the essence. The Essential Collagen Mask Sheet is supposed to “promote firmer more resilient skin”.

To say I disliked this is putting it lightly. The floral powdery scent was strong, the mask felt sticky (albeit not dripping wet) and it left my face feeling sticky and ick. I couldn’t help it. I ripped it off after 10 minutes and I washed off whatever essence there was left because I couldn’t go to bed with that smell stuck on my face. Will never buy again. Ever.

I cannot remember the prices. I think they were about RM6.90 and RM9.90 respectively. Do correct me if I’m wrong. It was a while ago and I lost my receipts.

Pros: Affordable, Hydrates skin

Cons: Strong fragrance, Collagen mask was icky and sticky

If you are at TheFaceShop website and can’t seem to find its masks, look under “Pack” Apparently that’s what masks are known as in Korea.

If you have tried sheet masks from The Face Shop, which do you like?

ooo… I bought the geranium one too! I loved it!! The smell was not overpowering and it didn’t drip a lot… the size was big for me though and too long… I think the essential mask sheets were even bigger than the herbal therapy ones… and I certainly agree that it’s too long! I tried the Pearl essential mask one and it made my face a bit itchy… the herbal one was fine too! I bought another 5 masks! they are gonna launch a new line called power gel mask and it’s a 2-piece mask which fits the face better =)

Maybe Korean ladies have longer faces? 😛 I want to get a couple more Geranium ones – so relaxing after a long day!

OOO. I do not use those sheet masks per se. But the mask I’m using is the Clinique’s Pore Minimizer, and it works great for me. ^.^ Well, there would always be a start for everything, yes?

I like Lavender and Neroli sheet mask from The Face Shop. It calms my skin whenever it gets sensitive and starts those little red bumps *eeks* The lavender scent helps to unwind too, after a long day 🙂

Haha TheFaceShop ma – had to do cute 😛 I liked the Geranium one because it wasn’t sticky – it was the wet type of essence but the other one was horrid! Neither did much for me except make my skin feel nice and cool but then most sheet masks do the same hehe

I have tried their Hyaluronic acid one, very moisturising but the size is pretty big, this time sideways. Like it. But I used them some time last year, only once. I would go get more if I haven’t my current stockpile of My Beauty Diary masks.

Hi again! Try the Imperial Herb ones, they are quite good, the size is right and it does not leave any sticky aftr feel. Etude House sheet masks are pretty good too. I am a sheet mask junkie. I have tried so many. As long as its a sheet and its a mask, it’s on my face haha.

The Imperial herbs ones are very very good. I got a few of them at one time, and remember one being exceptionally good for me, but I can’t remember which =( So I got a few again during the sale, hopefully I’ll find THAT one. Haha.

I’ve also tried the Tea Tree and Bergamot. I loved the smell, and it really brightened my skin too, but I loved it bcos of the smell anyway. =)

it’s weird but I actually prefer the Face Shop collagen mask to any of the beauty diary masks. feel that theres more essence = more effect… i can see quite a whitening and pumping effect on my face after using the collagen one. Once ,u face was super dry and oily at the same time due to crazy hot weather I used it consecutively for 3 days my skin recovered.

Feel that My Beauty Diary Masks do not have much effect on me except hydrating purposes. 🙂

its really weird cuz my friends all love MBD masks and dun like TFS ones
