Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lash Lengthening Mascara

January 4, 2010 Paris B 9 Comments

A while ago, while passing through Changi Airport, I picked up a twin pack of the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lash Lengthening Mascara for a mere S$39 (approx RM97 or RM48.50 each). That makes each mascara about the price of a drugstore or pharmacy brand! But does it work – that’s important.

I’d never used any cosmetics from Elizabeth Arden before. The reason I bought this was because I got it confused with Helena Rubenstein which is supposed to have very good mascara. Yes, I must have been blind not to notice the difference 😛

The mascara comes in a lux looking gold tube and the brush is the traditional brush bristles not the new fangled rubber bristles. The brush head is also rather large. Its all rather basic especially after trying out new fangled mascara like the Lancome Oscillation or Guerlain le 2 Mascara or the Diorshow Iconic.

I thought I’d hate it.

After going through my first tube, I must say that I don’t hate it. Its not exactly holy grail material, but its pretty good for the price I paid, if I’m looking for a basic mascara.

The Elizabeth Arden Ceramide mascara does add length as promised in the name. It also holds a curl and does not add much volume, but enough to make lashes stand out without looking spidery. The brush is large, but because it tapers nicely at the end, works for my short lashes without too much hassle or fuss and importantly there is no scent.

Personally, I’d say that if all you want in a mascara is something to lengthen your lashes, this is it. Its basic in that sense. However, the price will make anyone balk unless you get it at a steal like I did.

In Malaysia it retails for RM82 a tube or thereabouts which I think is too expensive for a basic mascara of this nature. However, if you see it going for S$39 or its equivalent for 2 tubes at duty free, pick it up. I doubt you’d be disappointed. 🙂

Pros: Lengthens lashes, No Scent, Washes off easily with regular eye makeup cleanser

Cons: Expensive if not on sale or at duty free

Don’t you love shopping at duty free? I love picking up steals like this one 🙂

How’s your first day back at work / at school? I’m actually quite happy to be back at work. The weekend somehow dragged a bit for me so by Sunday I was quite quite happy to be getting ready for Monday! You?

Hi Paris. I have this mascara at home and I absolutely love it! Its one of my fav besides Stila (Cant remember the name)’s mascara. Perhaps it doesnt work well on you but it works great on me! 😀 My friend even commented that my eyelashes looks pretty and asked me what mascara am I using (at that time). I just say by using this mascara it makes my eyes kinda ‘stand out’ I’m not really mascara kinda girl but I truly love this mascara 🙂

      Hi Shyra

Actually, I do like this mascara. It works well to add definition but I consider it “basic” in the sense of nothing truly spectacular. Also the price is off putting unless purchased at duty free. But otherwise, its good all around 🙂

definitely not worth the money for the effect. I think most drugstore mascaras work better than high end ones.

I was a good girl and went to school today :p But it’s the last week of school then EXAMS! 🙁

I remember when I first tried the #antipodesskinca I remember when I first tried the #antipodesskincare Aura Manuka Honey Mask. It blew my mind away! Soothes skin. Boosts hydration and just makes you feel like you have the best skin ever! Not kidding. If you have a spot or irritated skin, it calms it down and helps get rid of your spots too. Honey is anti bacterial after all, so it’s a great multitasker.
I also love the Manuka Honey Skin brightening Day Cream. It’s light but creamy and sinks into the skin. I’ve reviewed them both on the blog in the past. If you run a search for Antipodes, you’d also notice how much I love the brand! 😁
I’m super late with this but if you’re planning to purchase any of these 3 Manuka honey items from TNS Skinlab, the code MYWSTUFF10 will give you an extra 10% off (until tomorrow 31 Dec) I highly recommend grabbing the Aura mask. You’ll never want to be without (I always have a backup!)
Thanks for the gift @tnsskinlab and I must apologise for my tardiness 😩 I’ll learn to cope better from next week!
Now I have to scuttle and write my year end musings. Some traditions must be kept! 😜

It’s my first year doing retail and honestly, I’d never been so busy! The year-end rush is unreal! But busy is good, right? At least that’s what I tell myself 😂

Had a bit of breather today and put together a little video. Blink and miss my little monster 🐶 helping me shop! Not sponsored but I did receive a gift from L’Occitane, for which my sun-exposed, dry dog-walking skin thanks you!
Haven’t done any Christmas shopping this year. It has only just struck me that it’s but mere days away! 😨 Have you done yours?
