Green Cotton Organic Natural Cotton Shop @ Amarin Plaza Bangkok

January 3, 2010 Paris B 11 Comments

Here’s a store I visit quite often when I’m in Bangkok – Green Cotton. I stumbled on it quite by mistake one day while I was walking through Amarin Plaza (Chidlom BTS stop next to Hyatt Erawan) savouring the cool air-conditioning. Bangkok can be abominably HOT!

What the store sells is items made out of natural unbleached cotton. Nothing bright or spandex laden in here. Everything is in a shade of beige or cream which can strike many as boring.

But what I’m here for really, is to get their cotton underwear! 😀 I bought a pair on a previous trip to try it out and on my last trip, I was back for more. Cotton, being a natural fibre can breathe better and makes wearing underwear so much more comfortable. Granted, it only comes in boring cream and a simple bikini cut, but it’ll do for everyday use. Its also surprisingly quite well made as mine have lasted multiple washes without showing wear. Prices start from THB40 each and up depending on size.

Depending on what else you like, there are other items in the store worth taking a look at. I’m always tempted to get the cotton waffle bath robes. They look so comfy!

There are also hats and T-shirts, eco bags and bedroom slippers. Oh and towels and bedlinen too! That’s another thing I’m always tempted to get. Maybe I will next time I’m there. I did buy a hat 😀 Its got a lovely wide brim with a ribbon and is washable – I threw mine in the machine when I got back, shaped it while wet and let it air dry. Good as new and at THB190 each, its great for a material that breathes and for a hat with a huge brim to keep out the sun. Packs easily too!

I’m no tree hugger, but I say items in Green Cotton are worth checking out. In any case, try a pair of the underwear (if you don’t mind the designs) They are unbleached cotton, well made and being cotton, breathe so you feel comfortable all day 🙂

I’m given to understand there are more Green Cotton shops around but I’m not sure where they are. The one I featured and which I go to often is on the 2nd Floor of Amarin Plaza (Chidlom BTS next to Hyatt Erawan). They accept cash and credit cards are only accepted above THB1000.

Have you seen this store while you were in Bangkok? Have you bought anything from them if you have? 🙂

Will definitely check this place, as organic clothing is priced quite high in Malaysia even though some organic outlets import them from Thailand!!! I could only bring myself to buy some organic cotton pillow covers here which are very nice and comfy.

i think i have seen some ‘natural unbleached’ cotton undies in Jusco too, they look really comfy, but I wonder if they are really unbleached.

The only thing we can do is take their word for it 😛 I do realize that unbleached cotton isn’t very even in its colour and its not white. Perhaps thats what they mean?

Hi…wanted to share with you an organic line of clothes that I chanced upon at Suss Organic at Solaris Mont Kiara. Beautiful fashion wear, I got myself a pair of sleeveless top. It comes in a pair for the layering effect. It is on the pricey side RM263 for a pair. But very very comfortable and got 15% off from the current promo. Am satisfied.

The shop also sells organic skin care Sophyto, did not buy any as I still have my supply of skin care to finish off. But they still gave me samples to try, have not tried the samples yet. Cant remember the prices but reasonable. Within the range I would normally buy my skin care – Loccitaine.

I also bought some organic panties from a friend who was selling it part time, apparently she got them from a manufacturer in Penang. I agree, organic stuff are really comfy.

I am really into organic and healthy alternatives. I believe if there is an increased demand for organic and eco products, it will bring down the price and everyone can benefit from it.

    Hello,

I happened on “Green Cotton” whilst spending the day wandering through MBK in BKK. What a find! Such “cool” and endringly simple clothing. I have worn out my purchases. Hence I need to return to BKK to restock. I generally sat at the Narai Hotel in Silom Road. However this time I may rent an apartment. Does anyone have any ideas? By the way does Green Cotton have a website to order online?

    kind regards,

    stuart

Green Cotton’s website is at http://www.greencotton.co.th/, but their online sales appear to be restricted to Thailand only. They now have six stores in Bangkok.

If you can’t contact them through their website then I’m afraid I won’t know of any other way than to look for their stores and pay a visit.

I remember when I first tried the #antipodesskinca I remember when I first tried the #antipodesskincare Aura Manuka Honey Mask. It blew my mind away! Soothes skin. Boosts hydration and just makes you feel like you have the best skin ever! Not kidding. If you have a spot or irritated skin, it calms it down and helps get rid of your spots too. Honey is anti bacterial after all, so it’s a great multitasker.
I also love the Manuka Honey Skin brightening Day Cream. It’s light but creamy and sinks into the skin. I’ve reviewed them both on the blog in the past. If you run a search for Antipodes, you’d also notice how much I love the brand! 😁
I’m super late with this but if you’re planning to purchase any of these 3 Manuka honey items from TNS Skinlab, the code MYWSTUFF10 will give you an extra 10% off (until tomorrow 31 Dec) I highly recommend grabbing the Aura mask. You’ll never want to be without (I always have a backup!)
Thanks for the gift @tnsskinlab and I must apologise for my tardiness 😩 I’ll learn to cope better from next week!
Now I have to scuttle and write my year end musings. Some traditions must be kept! 😜

It’s my first year doing retail and honestly, I’d never been so busy! The year-end rush is unreal! But busy is good, right? At least that’s what I tell myself 😂

Had a bit of breather today and put together a little video. Blink and miss my little monster 🐶 helping me shop! Not sponsored but I did receive a gift from L’Occitane, for which my sun-exposed, dry dog-walking skin thanks you!
Haven’t done any Christmas shopping this year. It has only just struck me that it’s but mere days away! 😨 Have you done yours?
